Amazing dinner at Casarecce on a Saturday evening! My friend and I were seated promptly for our 5pm reservation at a cozy two-person table and our waiter was super friendly. We were super excited for their freshly made pasta. I started with a glass of the Chianti and went with the eggplant parm for my entree. I appreciate that they had a number of vegetarian entrees! The eggplant parm was delightful and the accompanying casarecce was cooked to perfection with a flavorful marinara sauce. I almost ate my entire entree but wanted to save some for later. The service was prompt and we were able to wrap up by 6pm to get to our next commitment. Overall, this was my second time dining here and will definitely be back! read more

Amazing food and fantastic service from the very personable Jeff! We loved the food, wine, and limoncello. I got the lobster and shrimp fra diavolo special for $45 which was so delicious and my mom got the shrimp scampi which she loved. Would highly recommend! read more

A busy January Saturday night trying to have a great meal before a Bruins game at TD Garden. We were a few minutes late to our 5:30 reservation as the falling snow and traffic got the better of us. But there sat our table waiting for us. Thank you! It was a packed house and we appreciated that they held the table for us. Wine list had a good variety of price points so we selected a bottle of red. Bread service was included and had an eggplant chutney-like topping and Parmesan cheese. I wasn't a big fan of the eggplant, it had a bit of an off flavor to me, almost fishy. We got the calamari for the table and it was delicious- light breading, hot and a nice serving of marinara. My bolognese was outstanding. Meaty and the pasta was homemade and perfectly prepared. As with many Northend restaurants you have to be ready to be elbow to elbow with your dining neighbors. No dessert for us...game time! read more

I will go with four stars in the end but the true rating is somewhere between three and four stars in my eyes. Place is small and requires reservations for sure. We came in on the early side for a 5 pm dinner. I highly recommend as an app the chicken parm egg rolls. Sounds weird but it works. Good for sharing and something unusual to try. My main was a spaghetti white clam sauce. The clams were strangely bland and a little chewy. The dish was a mild let down. My dining companions enjoyed the veal saltimbocca and the shrimp fra diavolo was pretty solid as well with nice flavors. Wines were on point as was the affogato desert. Our waiter was solid no nonsense and got us what we needed. Place had us in and out in 70 minutes which suited our schedule nicely. I would go here again although there are better NE places. It's a high bar to clear! read more

We accidentally stumbled into this place on a cold and rainy Tuesday afternoon. It has a very humble appearance but it was very cozy and the staff was fantastic. They were friendly, easy to talk with and made sure everyone in the restaurant was taken care of. The food was simply delicious. It exceeded any expectations we had and then some. From the meatball apps, to the warm bread with oil and Parmesan cheese, I knew the entrees were going to be amazing. I got the lamb and my wife the mushroom ravioli. Both were hands down amazing and you could tell it was handmade and fresh. Give them a try! You will not be let down! read more

The perfect little spot in Boston's North End for some authentic home made Italian food! Perfect ambience and wonderful atmosphere, the staff were engaging and friendly. I had the lasagne and the tomato mozzarella salad. So yummy and topped it off with some espresso! I've referred many people since! read more

The food was absolutely amazing! My husband and son loved their dish, all ranking their food 10/10. It was a small, cute and personal restaurant that took our party of 3 without reservations. We ordered: - calamari - meatballs -brochette -lobster ravioli -frutti di Mare -pappardelle Alfredo Amazing! Amazing! read more

We had a reservation for a party of four. The waitress was very nice and attentive. Some of the food (meat balls and roasted potatoes) were not served hot (barely warm). My beet arugula salad was delicious. Our table enjoyed the chicken parm spring rolls as an appetizer and the mussels were delicious. My son's veal dish had cold potatoes and a the portion on the veal was underwhelming. Overall the four of us would rate our experience as average. Expensive entrees from 36-39 dollars. We will try another place the next time we are in the North End. read more

I absolutely loved the service at this restaurant! My daughter and I went to this restaurant on a Saturday at the North End, so you can imagine how packed all the places were. We looked at the menu and loved the selections, so we entered to see, if there was any chance, as the place was full. Our server greeted us right away with a great smile and told us that we should have a table in about 20 minutes and took our name. The place is really small, but very cozy and fun. Loved the decorations with all the wine bottles and the traditional Italian music, which transports us to a new place. We got our table in less time than that and my daughter ordered the Carbonara and I had the Bolognese. They were both good plates, the Papardelle Bolognese pasta was a little undercooked and I was missing a little bit of the ragu flavor and the sickness behind the sauce. Having said that, I enjoyed the plate overall and considering that this was a Saturday, it's hard to manage the busy environment sometimes. My daughter's carbonara was good as well, but sauce was missing some of that parmesan strength that comes with the plate. The pancettas were nice and the pasta was al dente. We both really enjoyed the place, the atmosphere, the coziness of the table and the service that really transported you back to Italy. We will definitely come again, as we love coming to the North End! Cheers! read more

Good food and pleasant experience- another wonderful north end eatery. Will go here again

One of many little restaurants in Little Italy. Our waiter offered wonderful choices of some of the best dishes in the house. I took Justin's suggestion for the veal and it was amazing. Great reviews from the table for everything we had, most off his list. Would definitely return! read more

The service was great and ambience fine....but the food was tasteless. It looked like it would be amazing but the lasagna had no meat in it or the sauce. The veal saltimbocca was so tough I couldn't believe it was veal. Even the pasta was sub par. So disappointing... read more

Traveling from CA, my wife wanted to dine at an authentic Italian restaurant in the north end. She picked this place and we had the most incredible experience. Luis our waiter was incredibly authentic, conversational and brilliant at what he does. The other staff were just as attentive. Food? Getouttahere! Unbelievably tasty and well proportioned. We will definitely come back next time in town! read more

Food was good and the staff were friendly enough. Came here by accident but the menu looked good enough. One thing that was a major concern are the alternative charges/fees they tried to charge afterwards. I understand businesses trying to get back on their feet but legally they should be letting people know prior to service. That's a big pet peeve of mine... smaller issue but the pepper was very fined and Parmesan wasn't the best which for an Italian restaurant is a let down. read more

The Pappardelle Bolognese and sangria were fantastic. The service was friendly and quick and the view for people watching is perfect!

Incredibly average food. We got the lasagna and the chicken vodka pasta. Both dishes were very bland. I will say they were improved with lots of Parmesan cheese, emphasis on a lot. The staff were kind and the view from the window table is nice, but wouldn't recommend if you want good food. read more

Great great food. Excellent service. If we are ever back in Boston would love to go again!

I came here with my boyfriend to celebrate an occasion for dinner. Most of the North End restaurants had a 2+ hour wait or were not accepting any new customers. He found this place with no wait and grabbed a table while I was on my way from work. He ordered tomato gnocchi and asked to make it spicy, which was no problem for the chef. I tried a few bites and it was delicious and very spicy per his request. I ordered the ravioli, which was filling and slightly unique tasting. It was plain cheese filled, but I detected a bit of nuttiness and a drier cheese inside, which was a nice change of pace. For the price for both of our entrees, mine was on the smaller side and my boyfriend's was average. They also give a bread basket (good bread, nothing spectacular) with butter; we asked for olive oil the first time and balsamic on the second refill. It took a while to get the second refill, but we weren't in a rush. I had a tiramisu for dessert (which was actually larger than I expected), which was also good. Service was fine; our water glasses never went empty and our bread basket got refilled once. I do have to say it was a bit slow toward the end of our meal. We waited close to 15 minutes for the check, and there were more busboys/waiters than full tables. The best part about the service was that our waiter was HILARIOUS and quirky; he kept us laughing/entertained all night. It is very intimate in here (I think this used to be a frozen yogurt shop a long time ago), so beware if you aren't a fan of small places. We could hear the conversations of all the groups around us, which didn't bother us, but I could see how someone else might be claustrophobic. The tables can easily be pulled apart/combined to accommodate party sizes, though! Overall, I probably wouldn't come here again unless someone else in my party wanted to. I thought it was a bit expensive considering I wasn't in love with it. Don't get me wrong, it was GOOD FOOD, just not the best I've had in the North End for the price. read more

Pasta was nice. We had the mushroom ravioli, which was excellent, and the bolognese. Bolognese sauce was a bit bland and could have used more seasoning for my taste. Ambiance and service were nice. read more

The food here is good but not something I'd go out of my way to visit again. I had the veal parmigiana and it was delicious, they advertise that the pasta is homemade and it did taste as such. The restaurant is very small from the inside and has one restroom. The service was not very good. It took a long time to order and get the attention of our server. Overall, I wasn't entirely dissatisfied with my visit. read more

Came to NE a long time ago and never got to eat here. It was a cold day and we Finally scored a parking spot. (That was brutal). The lines for other restaurants on a Saturday afternoon were ridiculous. We are a fly by the seat of our pants kinda couple. Saw Casarecce on a corner and threw caution to the wind. Well, I encourage you to do the same and you won't be disappointed. Ok now to the food. We chose the Chicken cacciatore and the Fresh pasta with sausage and broccoli rabe. We were not sorry. The sauce for the cacciatore was warm, with a back taste of red wine, the chicken was soft and tender. The pasta with sausage and broccoli rabe was made more on the dryer side, not too wet with any white wine sauce. It was also delicious. Come in out of the cold, beat the silly lines for other places and give this place a try. Ooh and order the warm Cranberry bread pudding!! A-mazing! read more

We visited this restaurant the night I arrived in Boston. The weather was terrible due to the complimentary remnants of Hurricane Ida and my friends didn't make a reservation in the North End. Casarecce was kind enough to accept us and create a reservation at the last minute. We ran a few minutes late due to the inclement weather and lack of parking, but the staff was still accommodating. Once we finally arrived, I couldn't wait to eat after traveling all afternoon and have a glass of wine. The restaurant decided they wanted to close early due to the weather so we were a bit rushed to order. I was hungry so this wasn't too bothersome. In the end, my friend and I both ordered the bolognese with fettuccine and her husband ordered the chicken Parmesan. He enjoyed his dish and we thoroughly enjoyed our bolognese. The house made pasta was superb! This would be a great date night venue as it's small, charming and has an intimate vibe. There is also some outdoor seating. The restroom was clean and although the staff were ready to call it quits, they did an excellent job serving us. read more

Dined here on Saturday evening with three family members. The overall experience was fine, though nothing that would compel us to return. The food was under seasoned across the board. We got broccoli rabe, meatballs, Caesar salad, bruschetta, and caprese salad. The bruschetta bread wasn't toasted so it truly impacted the experience. The tomatoes in the caprese were ok but a nicely ripened heirloom tomato would have been better. my pappardelle was just barely al dente and some the noodles were stuck together as they werent fully cooked. I tried my sister's eggplant parm and that was delicious - probably the best dish of the whole experience. My brother loved his lobster ravioli. So much that he didnt offer anyone to try it . Lastly, three of four of us arrived on time for our reservations at 6pm. They wouldnt allow us to order anything until the fourth arrived. And we were asked to leave at 7pm. Fortunately we werent intending on having dessert so it worked out fine. But what if we did? Even if we had all been on time, one hour is not much time to enjoy a nice three course meal. read more
