This is a cute place in little Italy in Boston and a great spot if you are looking for a small, cozy dinner. This place had some of the best Italian food I have had. I had the mushroom ravioli and it was delicious. So fresh, so flavorful and the pasta was delicious. The staff was attentive and helpful. We ate here on a Friday night and had a reservation which I highly recommend as it was packed. We had to squeeze by folks to get to our table and the back of my chair was hitting the person behind me. It made for a high energy environment with a lot of hustle and bustle, but if you are looking for a quiet, intimate dinner than this may not be the place. Within five minutes of sitting down, our server was already pushing us to order food and drinks. When we asked to start with just an appetizer, he shook his head no and said we needed to place our entire order at once. After trying to slow things down a bit, we gave in and ordered everything. Within about 30 minutes of arriving, both our appetizers and entrées were brought out. The food itself was delicious. We felt rushed the entire time. After we finished eating, we waited patiently to get our server's attention to order another round of drinks. On our North End quest, this was stop #4 but moved to #1 on our rankings. Very tiny place with squished seating but we didn't mind our two person table at the wall. Our server was quick and very sweet. We ordered eggplant modugnese and burrata for apps, lobster ravioli and lamb ragu for dinner, all 10/10. Appetizers were great portions but still very light. Lamb ragu had their name brand pasta shape and a generous portion of meat. I am a lobster ravioli connoisseur and I absolutely loved this. I was so excited to travel to Boston from California to eat some authentic Italian food and this was the first place we saw when entering little Italy and to our amazement they had a table available. Thankfully I'm on the smaller side considering I had to squeeze in between two tables that were at most 6 inches apart interrupting the table next to us eating just to sit. Then when the waiter came over he wouldn't even look me in the eye, it was like he was so bothered and put out that hd had to take our order. We visited this restaurant with my girlfriends a few months back. We were visiting Boston and decided to go have dinner and didn't expect all the restaurants to be so packed! This one gave us a 20 min waiting and our server was so nice! He knew we were waiting and he made everybody possible for us to sit as soon as possible. As soon as we sit, we shared a bottle of wine and ordered some fried calamari's to start. Calamari was ok, they also gave some bread and was also ok. We ordered some pasta to share because we did realize plates were pretty big. We had the Spaghetti Fruto di Mare which was delicious! Really, really good! My girlfriend and I had a SPECTACULAR anniversary dinner at Casarecce in the North End. The service was fantastic throughout the night and the food was to die for. We made a reservation and were seated right away at a cute table for two. The venue is quite small and it feels like you are in Italy. We started off with fresh bread and oil which was fantastic. We ordered the burrata appetizer as well which came atop prosciutto and was garnished with balsamic vinegar and tomato. The prosciutto was some of the best I have ever had - so flavorful and fresh. The burrata was great as well with the bread and oil, can't go wrong there. For my main course I got my favorite chicken parmigiana which was fantastic - the marinara sauce was so fresh and flavorful, and had a perfect consistency. It was my first time trying casarecce pasta and it was so good, cooked perfectly al dente just how I like it. The chicken parm itself was glorious as well, and the cheese on top was a perfect addition. My girlfriend ordered an oil pasta dish which came with sausage and broccoli, hers was fantastic and she loved it. For dessert, we celebrated with chocolate lava cake paired with vanilla gelato, it was some of the best I've had in a while. I would highly recommend casarecce if you are looking for an amazing dining experience that feels like you are in Milan. What a beautiful restaurant! Do not try to do a walk on a weekend, we had a reservation and we still had to wait (it has very limited seating so it makes sense that you'd have a to wait a little bit). They brought you bread with Parmesan and EVOO, nothing special and the bread for the bruschetta was very thick and not as toasted as we would have liked. Now onto the entrees, we got Chicken Parmigiana (chicken perfectly fried and the pasta was perfectly cooked), lobster ravioli (good portion and the sauce was garlicky and delicious), chicken vodka and chicken risotto. I wont dock points for the parking situation as nearly all of downtown Boston suffers from the same issue. I started with the calamari which was some of the best calamari I have ever had. We went to Casarecce on a friend's recommendation, who cited it as their favorite restaurant. I am really wondering after eating there, "Did they mean to send us somewhere else?" Like other North End restaurants, the restaurant is super tiny. We were fortunate that the restaurant was only half-full at 6:30 on a Wednesday (maybe this should have been a clue because everywhere else looked packed?), since table are only about 6" apart. Service was friendly and efficient, so this seemed like a good start. Food, however, was so-so to terrible! We ordered the meatball appetizer, carbonara, and chicken vodka. The meatball (portion of 3) and sauce were essentially room temperature and completely under-seasoned. It was accompanied by a very garlicky toast, which I liked. A small basket of bread also came to the table. This was the hardest, saddest bread that they should have truly been embarrassed to serve. The pasta portions were huge - I imagine perhaps a draw for families with little kids - and very rich. The carbonara was nicely peppery. The chicken vodka was awful with way too much sauce and containing pees that had the dull color and off-putting taste of canned peas. Overall, a huge "NEVER AGAIN" for me. read more

This place is such a great hidden gem. There can't be more than 10 tables in the place and they are close together - however, you work with what you got. My boyfriend and I stopped here before a Bruins game and the vibes are immaculate with great people watching. We had gorgeous weather last week so they had the door and windows open. Bread came out and we ordered our drinks. We ordered the meatballs for our appetizer and they were so tender and had a lovely taste to them. He ordered the carbonara and I got the chicks Parmesan. Their pasta is really lovely and the chicken was pounded so thin. Honestly, amazing. Their sauce is really good too. For dessert, I got the volcano cake and it's different than others I've had as it has a rich layer of ganache/almost like pudding covering the cake; very yummy too. It was completely gone. The service was a little odd as I wasn't sure who we needed to ask for things - it just seemed a little disjointed and got a little loud near the end of the meal when people were chatting so I think our server didn't hear us at first when we asked for the check which isn't his fault by any means but just something I'm noting. It was about $100 for 2 people with appetizer, sodas, 2 mains, a dessert which I think is solid for the North End and also an amazing meal that I don't regret paying for. Before booking the reservation I called and had an extensive conversation with the staff about ingredients and preparation. They were so kind and patient during the call, clarifying with the kitchen along the way. We came in for lunch and were a larger group with multiple children. They were great with all of us. The only small knock was, when one of the kids accidentally spilled their drink, the staff did not initially provide us with extra napkins to clean up. We did not expect staff to clean up our mess, but after going back and forth from the bathroom they finally gave us some extra supplies. Now to why you're here - the food. It was delicious.
