    Casarecce Chicken Vodka so good
    Julia J.

Amazing food, service and ambience. From the moment I was looking at the menu outside a manager gentleman warmly invited me in and I had 10 out of 10 service even though I had a limited window to eat. If you're in the north end this is a hidden gem!

Restaurant was small but very efficient, everything arrived perfectly timed. We arrived a few mins early for our reservation and every table was full. Within under 5 minutes our table was turned and we were seated. We ordered the meatballs, chicken risotto, and gnocchi pesto. The chicken risotto was amazing. All of the pastas looked homemade. The homemade bread was delicious. The service was great, everyone was very friendly.

Stopped here because the place down the street was too busy to walk in. This a charming little restaurant that was easy to walk in on a weekday around 6:30 PM. I was greeted right away and sat by the window. The ceaser was good, but nothing extraordinary about it. Same with the meatballs, pretty good but I was left expecting something better. The veal almafi was very good, although the spinach may be a little over powering for some as it almost overpowered the veal and cheese. Overall, a good meal, but I wouldn't say it's the best on the north end.

We visited this restaurant with my girlfriends a few months back. We were visiting Boston and decided to go have dinner and didn't expect all the restaurants to be so packed! This one gave us a 20 min waiting and our server was so nice! He knew we were waiting and he made everybody possible for us to sit as soon as possible. As soon as we sit, we shared a bottle of wine and ordered some fried calamari's to start. Calamari was ok, they also gave some bread and was also ok. We ordered some pasta to share because we did realize plates were pretty big. We had the Spaghetti Fruto di Mare which was delicious! Really, really good! And the Pappadelle Bolognese which is a classic and it was good. The ambiance was busy and a little noisy but again, it was a weekend dinner time so it makes sense in a busy street. I'll come back to try another pasta

Enjoyed the food... service, not so much. We had a 4:30 reservation on a Saturday and arrived a few minutes early. Within five minutes of sitting down, our server was already pushing us to order food and drinks. When we asked to start with just an appetizer, he shook his head no and said we needed to place our entire order at once. After trying to slow things down a bit, we gave in and ordered everything. Within about 30 minutes of arriving, both our appetizers and entrées were brought out. The food itself was delicious. I had the chicken vodka sauce pasta, which was excellent, and my fiancé and the couple we were with all enjoyed their meals. But the pacing made it hard to enjoy the experience. We felt rushed the entire time. After we finished eating, we waited patiently to get our server's attention to order another round of drinks. Instead, he walked over and dropped the check on the table without asking how the food was or whether we wanted anything else. At this point, we hadn't even been there an hour. Unfortunately, the rushed service overshadowed the quality of the food for us. The dining space is already tight, a little too intimate for my taste, and nothing about the service made us want to return.

Okay LOVE, the homemade pasta was incredible and this was the best pink vodka sauce we've had in the North End (we live here). The bread was served warm, the bruschetta was perfectly made, and the homemade sauce was delicious. Wine is reasonably priced. A typical, small, cozy, delicious North End local restaurant that we loved supporting and will be back! If you're looking for a pink vodka sauce (not spicy), this is your place! Order the Casarecce Chicken Vodka pasta dish.

On our North End quest, this was stop #4 but moved to #1 on our rankings. Very tiny place with squished seating but we didn't mind our two person table at the wall. Our server was quick and very sweet. We ordered eggplant modugnese and burrata for apps, lobster ravioli and lamb ragu for dinner, all 10/10. Appetizers were great portions but still very light. Lamb ragu had their name brand pasta shape and a generous portion of meat. I am a lobster ravioli connoisseur and I absolutely loved this. It might even be a little higher than the place I love back home. Their sauce was incredible. I wish it had a bigger portion I wanted more when I was done. I would definitely recommend this place! We will be back for more lobster ravioli.

I ordered a chicken parm fried sticks and a lobster ravioli. They were okay, and I liked the sauce of the ravioli, which was just appropriate for eating up all of the raviolis. But the price was a little insane. Such two dishes took me about seventy bucks with tips...Is it always like this in Boston?

This is such a cute restaurant in the north end. It's very small and cozy and has great ambiance. I would highly recommend coming here for a date night. The eggplant appetizer was great and my boyfriend enjoyed his pasta. Employees were very friendly and food came out fast. They take online reservations. Great location too. Close to TD garden, fanuiel hall, mikes pastry, modern, etc.

My girlfriend and I had a SPECTACULAR anniversary dinner at Casarecce in the North End. The service was fantastic throughout the night and the food was to die for. We made a reservation and were seated right away at a cute table for two. The venue is quite small and it feels like you are in Italy. We started off with fresh bread and oil which was fantastic. We ordered the burrata appetizer as well which came atop prosciutto and was garnished with balsamic vinegar and tomato. The prosciutto was some of the best I have ever had - so flavorful and fresh. The burrata was great as well with the bread and oil, can't go wrong there. For my main course I got my favorite chicken parmigiana which was fantastic - the marinara sauce was so fresh and flavorful, and had a perfect consistency. It was my first time trying casarecce pasta and it was so good, cooked perfectly al dente just how I like it. The chicken parm itself was glorious as well, and the cheese on top was a perfect addition. My girlfriend ordered an oil pasta dish which came with sausage and broccoli, hers was fantastic and she loved it. For dessert, we celebrated with chocolate lava cake paired with vanilla gelato, it was some of the best I've had in a while. I would highly recommend casarecce if you are looking for an amazing dining experience that feels like you are in Milan. What a beautiful restaurant! We will absolutely be back here for future occasions and just for a bite.

Seems like a very tiny restaurant from the outside walking by, but it definitely packs a punch. The food was good, big portions we were all able to take leftovers with us, and the service was good, employees very helpful. The handmade pasta is absolutely what sets this place apart, making everything very fresh and tasty.

When visiting Boston I decided to visit North End which is known for its Italian Food. I picked Casarecce randomly using Yelp. My expectations were high! I wont dock points for the parking situation as nearly all of downtown Boston suffers from the same issue. I started with the calamari which was some of the best calamari I have ever had. Fresh, good batter, and the marinara was tasty and warm. The lasanga was light, flavorful and just the right portion size. The service was friendly and fast as well. Good spot to get the vibe of the community. I reccomend!

Born and raised in Calabria, Italy, Badolato worked as waiter as a young boy before immigrating to Boston in the 1970s. At the age of just 15, he was working as a busboy at a Boston restaurant and slowly worked his way up the restaurant totem pole. One night after getting off work, Badolato bought a wad of $5 scratch lottery tickets and won one million dollars. He decided to use the winnings to fulfill a lifelong dream and open his own restaurant in the North End (aka Boston's "Little Italy"). He hired practically his entire family to come over from Italy and work at his restaurant, which is located along the Freedom Trail right next to the historic Paul Revere House. Many of the recipes belonged to Badolato's mother Concetta, including her famous meatballs. She was a constant fixture at the restaurant until she passed away in 2015. The head chef at Limoncello since day one has been Chef Andrea Moggi. A second location opened nearby at 76 Salem Street in 2017, but it closed a year later. My family and I recently visited Ristorante Limoncello for dinner while we were spending the day in Boston. After a long day of walking and sight-seeing, we found ourselves in the North End for dinner time. We walked by the restaurant and loved the name and the menu. We were seated on the outdoor patio area for a delicious al fresco dining experience. My wife and I both shared the "Scallops Limoncello" (fresh sea scallops sautéed in 'homemade' Limoncello, served on a bed of baby arugula) and the "Tagliolini al Limoncello" (fresh homemade pasta with jumbo shrimp cooked in a tomato cream sauce). Although the restaurant doesn't have a Kids Menu, our friendly server told us that she could easily bring us a family-style plate of "Penne with Meatballs" (red sauce) for our two sons to share. Everything was excellent, right down to the complimentary bread bowl and olives! For dessert, I had the "Lemon Sorbetto" (served in a frozen lemon shell) paired with a glass of their delicious housemade "Limoncello". It was the perfect way to end a fantastic meal! We hope to be back!

I didn't mind that much since it was actually pretty tight and cozy so it actually brought up the energy I think. We already had reservations, so we received a fairly quickly, and the white stuff were very professional and courteous. The food did not disappoint. The calamari came out fresh and hot. Crispy and the banana peppers gave it just the right heat. The marinara sauce paired well with it. The Lobster Fra Diavolo was done in a cute heart shaped, so that was delightful. Lobster was done perfectly and the slightly spicy sauce of the pasta paired beautifully. My favorite was actually the marsala. The Fusilli was done perfectly al dente and soaked in that delicious sauce that was flavorful and clung so well to the pasta. The chicken breast was well marinated and super tender and juicy. Honestly, I wouldn't hesitate to order this again next time.

Cafe Amaro....No Bene!…read more North End is one of my favorite Boston neighborhoods for Italian food especially Pizza. But this time, not so much! We walked in here on a Sunday afternoon and stopped at Cafe Amaro since they had open tables. The restaurant is very small probably about 10 or so tables. We sat right up against the kitchen which was warm since it was a bit chilly outside. After about 5-8 minutes went by our server came over and we asked to sample 2 glasses of wine. They were not good at all. After tasting one more we finally landed on the Chianti. We then waited longer to place our order which was the Prosciutto and Fig pizza. I also ordered a soda water with lemon which never came. Note: there are 2 servers and I believe 1 speaks English but I am not 100% sure. Once our server finally came over my husband had to remind him of the soda water which he proceeded to say "we only have large bottles." Ok, thanks for letting me know since the other server/busser did not. Does he work here? Does he know the menu? Why wouldn't he tell me this the first place? Our pizza finally came and even after ordering it well done it was still floppy and flimsy to the point when everytime we went to pick up the slice everything fell off...UGH! I don't know how in the North End this place gets by or survives? Maybe they were having an off day? I do see other reviews that had better experiences than ours. Maybe they were short on staff? If that was the case then say something because I probably would've had more patience and understanding if this was the case. BTW, Our server NEVER came over after ordering our wines and pizza. He never asked "how is everything?" NEVER... I also rarely give one/two stars to restaurants but this was despicable and I really hope this is not their norm. All I have to say is there are so many other better restaurants in the North End to go to, but Cafe Amaro is not one of them.

They get SUPER packed on weekends especially & I definitely recommend making reservations instead of relying on walk-in. We made a reservation on a Saturday at 9pm & we still had to wait ~30 min for our table to be ready, because of how busy they were. Now, they do move pretty quick though! Once we were seated & gave our server our order, our food came in a timely manner. We ordered: -calamari -trombetta al pesto -chicken parm -carbonara w/ chicken cutlet The calamari was quite yummy. It tasted fresh and the batter was light but still crispy. We even debated on getting another order of the calamari! Trombetta al pesto is what I personally had. Good portion size & loved the pesto sauce. I did wish it came with a protein but that's okay. The pesto is on the herb-ier side as opposed to garlicky, so keep that in mind if you're not too big on herb heavy taste. I personally loved it though. The pasta was also cooked al dente, PERFECTO! The chicken parm was demolished within minutes of arriving to our table, so that should tell you how good it was haha. Now, for the carbonara with chicken cutlet, the pasta was cooked perfectly. Nice and al dente but we wished that we had gotten grilled chicken breast instead of the breaded chicken cutlet, as it probably would've paired better with the dish. Overall, I think Trattoria Il Panino is a solid spot to go for a sit-down lunch or dinner! I liked that even though we did have to wait a bit for our table with reservations, we didn't have to really wait for our food after ordering. At no point did the restaurant indicate that us being late was going to be an issue. Ever. I know how hard it is to get a reservation in Boston so I was being very conscious about making sure they knew and apologizing profusely. They could have cancelled. Or told me they had to move the time They never did. When I got there, I was told the Wait wpuld be a few minutes.. fine That makes sense. 20 minutes later, I had to ask how long it would be to get a table and that I was met with a woman named Stephanie who then told me we don't hold tables and it was nice of you to call but we can't hold a table for with that information on a Friday night in the north end of Boston. She was soooooooooooooooooo Nasty about it. I could've easily made another reservation at several other restaurants. Or walked across the street instead of standing there. Due to her unnecessary behavior and the lack of communication from the restaurant, we went to a restaurant on the corner, which we could've done at Any given point had anyone communicated with me the way I communicated with them. Line out the door and I did not see them talking to anyone in line. , shame on them for having such attitude Don't go here they're rude After 6 hours on a plane And a car ride that was supposed to be 20 minutes that turned into 40 That's not how you treat a customer that truly went out of Their way to communicate and give the restaurant courtesy. Their communication should have been up front from the beginning. This woman was so nasty. We left. Went somewhere else. Which we could had done earlier. Do better

First visit, Monday 4/20/26…read more Visiting Boston on a work trip, I had no idea the Marathon was today! Met 4 colleagues at The Red Fox for dinner, a recommendation from a friend of my colleague. Tough to find initially and very unsuspecting upon arrival. As you enter the front door (think like walking into a foyer of a small apartment building) you go down a flight of stairs into the restaurant. Then wow, this place is awesome! Small entry way into the restaurant with a hostess immediately greeting you. The bar is your first view of the place and it was packed. I'd describe it as dimly light, great atmosphere and ambience, almost a speakeasy feel. I'd recommend a reservation. The hostess walked us to our table, walking along the bar line with small 2-4 top tables to our left, we then turned left into the main dining room. 5 of us and we were seated at a horseshoe style table, plenty of room for up to 6 adults. Service was instant, she was friendly and very knowledgeable. We ordered cocktails and a couple apps. The drinks arrived along with bread service. They added small side plates with oils and olives, a nice touch. The cocktails were fantastic as was the homemade bread. A unique twist with my cocktail (kettle one & soda), was the single ice cube that was a long rectangle cube that was so clear you couldn't see it! The cubes length was the same as the tall glass it was served in and didn't melt. For dinner I listened to our server who recommended the Chicken Parmigiana with a chefs twist using a vodka infused sauce, this dish was amazing! My colleagues all shared the same feelings that this meal was spectacular. Highly recommend The Red Fox!

Their martinis are always spot on. The Parmesan martini is shockingly good, especially as someone who doesn't like dirty Martinis. The spinach and ricotta appetizer with the sage butter is so good. Arancini was also good. Both times have had the vodka pasta, and the orrechiete. The first time the orrechiete was very al dente, so just asked to cook a little more during my second visit and it was perfect. Spaghetti al limone was a nice complement to the other two!
