This was good but lacking a bit of flavor, however she and I both agreed that was on her for taking the jalapeños off the dog. Both dogs were extremely tasty, and we devoured both. I also got an order of curly fries loaded with their chili and cheese. For me, these did not have to go as HARD as they did. The chili they are using at Dogfather is seriously good, with a slight tang and a good amount of spice. It thrills but does not take away from your meal with too much heat. Very tasty. My only feedback is that Dogfather needs a larger space! There's a good size outside seating area, but for times like today when it's raining people need some coverage. They're doing it right and the crowds want to come! As I have stated this is a local favorite. If you live nearby, make it a regular spot. I know him from a couple of shows I attended at Southtown 101 a couple of years ago. This is weird. A bunch of people were there, mostly families with young children. It is advertised as family karaoke. The bar has a sign stating that there are no minors after 9pm allowed. The families all seem to know each other. It is almost cult-like. A lot of the kids sang and it was cute. By 9:15pm, all the kids and their families were gone. About six of our adults were left. Mondo bizarro. I got to sing four songs so I'm not complaining. I did remark to one of the remaining adults that this was cult-like. He said yes, an Alamo Heights cult. Ahhhh... Creepy, but fun. My Pacificos were $7 each, a Coke was $2.77. Food truck food is offered. Lots of choices for nibbles. Give them a try.
