    Molcajete with shrimp
    Magdalen K.

We had a wonderful experience at casa tradicional! The restaurant is very colorful and there was live music (flute) which was so wonderful. The drinks were very good, I had a tamarind margarita. The food was amazing and the staff gave us the recommendation to try the molcajete. We were so glad that we decided to try it because it was very flavorful and arrived still bubbling and cooking. The flavor was mildly spicy and perfect. I will be returning to this restaurant if I am ever back in PV!

I have passed by this restaurant many times. With curiosity, I finally stepped in to give it a try. There are seafood entrees and various sauce options. Their tortilla chips were thin and crunchy without being greasy. Home made salsa and verde salsa. I had the garlic shrimp combo, and it was flavorful and yummy. The interior has authentic Mexican decor too. There is also outdoor dining area too. They have lots of take out orders too. It is worth a try and satisfy my curiosity.

All the food was very tasty. It was definitely made to order because we were the only ones there and it did take a long time for the food. The server, bartender and service people all very nice and attentive. They even picked us up from the Conrad in the restaurant van and brought us back, which was very nice. The harpest was vwey nice and relaxing. The Margaritas were tasty but not sure they put in Tequila. In all Very Pricey for what we received.

Wow. The food was absolutely amazing. Everyone here was so kind and excited to greet us. And the restaurant was absolutely beautiful! We had molcajete, and octopus dish, and salsa with guacamole. Our servers helped us with the right flavors and shared so much of their passions with their culture. I would recommend anyone to make the trip out here. You will for sure be in good hands. ¡Gracias todos por su amor y comida!

OMG - I landed here by happenstance, and it was AMAZING! The atmosphere couldn't be more authentic.. The service couldn't have been better.. The Food was OVER THE TOP! We started with Classic Margaritas, which were delicious. Drinks were quickly followed by Guacamole & Cilantro Melted Cheese. Both were flavorful and probably enough for dinner. Having said that.. I enjoyed the Tampiqueña as my Main Course. Let me just start with, I have never had such a tender Skirt Steak. I asked for Medium, and it was delivered perfectly grilled. A Chicken Enchilada with Mole accompanied the Steak. Rice, Beans, Guac.. all told the traditional story. I didn't have any room for dessert.. but the options looked amazing! What a Gem! Definitely a must visit when visiting Punta de Mita!

This location is just amazing! It's gorgeous, clean, has the MOST amazing staff I have ever met!! Each person is kind, very loving and knows everything possible about this restaurant and all of the food on the menu. The food is the very best in all of Mexico. So many flavors and specialties. All salsa is grilled and prepared per order. Same with the guacamole. The chips are prepared fresh as well. The cilantro cheese and corn tortillas appetizer is always a hit The shrimp with garlic and Chile and cilantro is next level great The mixed fajitas are superb!! All of the soups are fresh and DELICIOUS! The mocajate is my daughters favorite! We even have live entertainment 5 feet away! He plays the harp and sings Beautifully! His name is Ricardo and Ricardo is extremely talented and a great person. The manager is so sweet and thoughtful!! Lupita

This. Is. The. Spot. You want the best menu in town to choose from? You'd also like every single thing to taste like your best friend's abuela is cooking? Oh and you'd like a touch of romance, a guy rocking Beatles covers on a pan flute, and the kindest staff around? I am telling you, I AM TELLING YOU. 6/5 stars. Just fantastic.

I highly recommend this restaurant. Its so cute and the servers and customer service is amazing. We had Oscar and he was the sweetest, he explained everything to us and made us homemade salsa right in front of us. The food is so tasty and authentic you don't want to miss out. Muy bonito lugar! We decided to dine here on our first evening in Punta Mita and it was an enjoyable meal. The place was a little loud if I'm being honest, but the sunset view quickly made up for that. The staff were especially nice and attentive. We started with the Chips and Guacamole, and the guacamole was exceptional. Next up was the Tuna Carpaccio which was fantastic. We then had fresh Baked bread with a very tasty spread, the Burrata and Greek salads. My better half really enjoyed the Greek salad most of all while I leaned more towards the Burrata. She had the Grilled Fish, which she thoroughly enjoyed. The kid had the Beef Tenderloin and he really, really liked it. I had the New York Strip, which was good but not great. Everything was a little heavy on the olive oil TBH. The Baklava and Pistachio Ice Cream dessert was pretty good, but the Baklava was quite dry. All in all, it was a very nice experience and I would recommend going here.

We loved the Greek salad so much that we ordered two! Hummus was good, octopus was cooked perfectly, and my ragu gnocchi was very good (just wish the portion was bigger)! The entire front portion of the restaurant sits directly in the sand, so that's where we chose to have breakfast--under the iconic palapa roof, feet in the sand, overlooking the ocean. From our table you can watch the fishing boats and excursion boats heading out for the day, which gives the whole experience a relaxed, resort-like rhythm without feeling touristy or rushed. Service was excellent from the start--attentive, warm, and genuinely welcoming. They brought out a selection of pastries you can add if you want, like banana bread and cinnamon rolls, which felt like a thoughtful touch rather than an upsell. The coffee was very good, with plenty of options ranging from cappuccinos and café lattes to classic American coffee, all well prepared. For food, I ordered the scrambled eggs with Mexican chorizo, refried beans, and hash browns. It came with a basket of warm corn tortillas and several house salsas, letting you customize each bite. Everything was flavorful, comforting, and clearly made with care. We also ordered the shrimp eggs Benedict with spinach, which was beautifully done--rich, balanced, and fresh, with the shrimp cooked just right. One thing that really stands out is the ambiance. Being right on the beach, hearing the waves, feeling the breeze, and being encouraged (without being told) to slow down and take your time makes the meal feel like part of the vacation itself, not just fuel for the day. They also offer freshly squeezed juices, which pair perfectly with breakfast by the ocean. The menu is extensive, almost overwhelming in a good way--there are so many appealing options that it's genuinely hard to decide. That said, what we ordered was absolutely delicious and satisfying, and it left us wanting to come back and try more. Overall, La Palapa delivers on every level: location, atmosphere, food, and service. It's the kind of place where breakfast turns into a memory, not just a meal.

If you're squeamish about fish smell or the idea of flies, you might want to send your husband/friend/manservant here to purchase your fish for you. However while it looks a lot more rustic than your average US fish market, it's not that bad. We scored some excellent seabass and a fat kilo of tuna here for what I'd consider to be dirt cheap. And I'm assuming I paid gringo-price. The guys were helpful, spoke enough english to get me what I needed, and when I asked for tuna, they pulled a huge whole tuna out of the cooler, hacked off a kilo, and handed it to me. See photos. It was a thing of beauty. The fish sections in the supermercados around here suck. Come to this Pescaderia and get the fresh, tasty stuff instead. Support the little guy.

My favourite time to shop there is between 7-9am, when the products are out for sale, and the selections and freshness the best. For me, it's been primarily a place to shop for shrimp. I find their selections are often 'the' best in the area -- allowing me to choose sizes graded from small to large, and at times, very large, with heads still attached. For us, I'm most often seeking "mediums" for our our cooking, but once in a while, the "small'' are great for cocktails, to use in sandwiches, stir-fries, and the like, and the "large" or "very large" can make some yummy dinner treats. The shrimp are priced by the kilo, and the friendly and accommodating staff will always provide you with as much or little as you wish. I like this little pescaderia, have been shopping there for several years, and have never had a problem with the quality of products purchased.
