We had a wonderful experience at casa tradicional! The restaurant is very colorful and there was live music (flute) which was so wonderful. The drinks were very good, I had a tamarind margarita. The food was amazing and the staff gave us the recommendation to try the molcajete. We were so glad that we decided to try it because it was very flavorful and arrived still bubbling and cooking. I have passed by this restaurant many times. With curiosity, I finally stepped in to give it a try. There are seafood entrees and various sauce options. Their tortilla chips were thin and crunchy without being greasy. Home made salsa and verde salsa. I had the garlic shrimp combo, and it was flavorful and yummy. All the food was very tasty. It was definitely made to order because we were the only ones there and it did take a long time for the food. The server, bartender and service people all very nice and attentive. They even picked us up from the Conrad in the restaurant van and brought us back, which was very nice. OMG - I landed here by happenstance, and it was AMAZING! The atmosphere couldn't be more authentic.. The service couldn't have been better.. The Food was OVER THE TOP! We started with Classic Margaritas, which were delicious. Drinks were quickly followed by Guacamole & Cilantro Melted Cheese. Both were flavorful and probably enough for dinner. Having said that.. I enjoyed the Tampiqueña as my Main Course. Let me just start with, I have never had such a tender Skirt Steak. I asked for Medium, and it was delivered perfectly grilled. We came here 2 nights ago and were blown away by the level of service and effort they put in to make sure we were well taken care of. They offer rides to/from the W, AMAZING live Cuban band and there were only a few tables booked due to it being off season. Even though it was a small crowd they went above and beyond. Our family of three visited during a vacation to Punta Mita and I can't say enough good things about this restaurant. The staff are all so amazing and took such good care of us, including our 12 year old child. Both the salsa and guacamole were prepared table side and may be the best I've ever had, and I say this as a picky So Cal girl with regular access to quality Mexican food. Every single thing we ate was delicious. The staff was attentive without hovering. Our table mostly had steak entrees, each flavorful and uniquely seasoned. They also graciously provided transportation to and from our nearby hotel (the Conrad Punta de Mita). There is an air conditioned room, or a covered area that has fans. Even on a Monday evening they had live music to keep us entertained. They take reservations online, or you can reach out via whatsapp and let them know if you want transportation from the Conrad, the driver was part of the restaurant staff and was prompt; it was only a short drive day from the hotel. read more

WOW!!! We stayed in Punta Mita for a week from San Diego and this is the best Mexican food we've had all stay from in town even to the Four Seasons. From the impeccable service, beautiful ambiance, friendly staff, and attention to detail, we felt so at home and taken care of at this restaurant. Tableside salsa was complimentary and absolutely delicious. We also ordered the tableside guacamole, ribeye molcajete and red & green enchiladas which were all excellent. The night ended with a delicious tres leches cake and complimentary transportation to our hotel the St. Regis. Best margarita I've ever had- and they make it with Don Julio reposado by default, If you like ceviche, get the Aguachiles! It's outstanding. We also got the guacamole which we loved. The chips are fantastic and I judge Mex restaurants by their chips and salsa (and their beans.) We went here for dinner after seeing great reviews and we were not disappointed! The service was spectacular from start to finish. They had a harp player with beautiful music in the background. The drinks were great and all the food was superb! We started with table side salsa and guacamole, as well as stuffed mushrooms which were so good! For our main courses we had mixed molcajete, Sea Bass, and the casa Tradicional metate which is a combination of cochinita pibil, carnitas michoacan and beef barbacoa. An absolute MUST visit restaurant while in Punta Mita. We have driven past several times on previous trips because the restaurant is not downtown. Mistake. The food and service at Casa Tradicional are absolutely top notch. Food served in traditional lava rock bowls and are the most flavorful dishes in the area. We had our first dinner while visiting the Riviera Nayarit at this restaurant located on the main road. We visited in January and on the night we went in the place was pretty empty, there were only two other tables with guests and both of those also were foreigners like us, there were no locals. I disagree with other reviewers, this place is 100% catered for tourists. It literally has that feeling of being that one place the tour buses take their guests after a long day of excursions. Having said that, the food was tasty. It definitely was not the best restaurant in the area by any means, but it was good. The guacamole and salsa are prepared table side, perhaps another gringo appeasing move (in addition to the table side tequila flambeed bananas, oh boy!), but it was nice to see all the ingredients and effort that went into making them. The one aspect I can highlight the most is how nice and accommodating the staff was. They definitely went out of their way to make you feel at home. read more
