We had a wonderful time dining here! Great drinks, great atmosphere, live music, it was awesome. The service was quick and we were checked on often. The food was also very good, I ordered the tímpano which was pretty good, the sauce was delicious and the noodles were fresh. However, my mom ordered the gnocchi and it was so amazing, it had bolognese sauce which was perfect and the gnocchis were like little pillows. We had tiramisu as well which was delicious. This was our 2nd time dining at Casa Teresa. Our first meal was very good, great ambience and cocktails. This time back in Punta mira Casa Teresa was our first reservation on the list. I have to say we were disappointed. We ordered the oxtail. Firstly there was NO meat on the oxtail, and it was definitely frozen because it was cold. All I ate was the pasta which came with the oxtail. However if I wanted to order just pasta I would've, and it certainly wouldn't have been soo expensive. The cocktails were very good, but considering we went there for dinner and not just drinks, we were highly disappointed. When we complained the owner didn't believe me that it was cold and asked me to put a bone on a side plate and agreed. At least she could've made it right by compensating part of our meal. At the recommendation of someone we met in a pool while on vacation, we meandered into the little town of Punta de Mita, down a little rustic street, to find this absolute gem of a restaurant. We've all heard you should never judge a book by its cover, but when the inside of the book includes a romantic setting, great food, incredible service, and a most wonderful experience meeting and getting to know the owners, Nadia & Martin, made this evening extra special. Great menu selections, including their signature 15 layer lasagna still meticulously made from Mama Teresa's original recipe, along with a simple yet incredible wine list, offers everyone a great sampling of good Sicilian food. Tonight's special app was a tuna and octopus carpaccio that was superb. As good as the food was, the courtyard is as spectacular. The decor, lighting, and elegant ambiance enhanced the meal. If you're in Punta de Mita, be sure to make plans to visit Casa Teresa's. It was a wonderful way to celebrate the end of my 50's. read more

Another amazing meal! We can't say enough about this place. This time we brought my brother and sister-in-law and celebrated my husband's birthday. The surprise birthday song was epic and fun. The entire wait staff came out wearing silly clown hats and sang. We were all blown away at the flavors of our meals. My brother tried the lasagna and he loved it. It lived up to it's hype. The menu changes daily. The only thing that never leaves it is the lasagna. The four of us all ordered something different and we took bites from each other's plates. We loved all of them. My only complaint was my jumbo shrimp was a little overcooked but the pasta itself was amazing. Ricki (Martine) was as amazing as always. The service was incredible from everyone. My brother has lived in the area for over a year and had not been to this restaurant yet. He said it was one of the best meals he's had in the punta de mita area and there are a lot of really good restaurants there. This is going to be one of his regular go-to's... Or at least when he wants to impress somebody. So if you're in the area definitely give this place a try. You won't regret it. read more

The best things about Casa Teresa are 1) the owners and the workers 2) a nice change from a week of Mexican food The restaurant is very quaint with different rooms. The bar area was dark and inviting. The dining room to its left is very Venetian Italian. The outdoor patio is the best spot in the house We were a large group and sat in the Venetian room Food and drink wise, the main standouts to me were Basil Margarita with salted rim and muddled basil on the rocks with Don Julio blanco tequila. It was so different and interesting and most of all delicious Caprese on top of Apples was so unique. The apple was a baked apple and was really a nice compliment to the cheese. The caprese itself was so so but together it was very nice Eggplant parmigiana was layer after layer high. It was tender. The sauce was so so but overall very good. But also pricey at 560 pesos. The other dishes were good but not unique or memorable. The main reasons to come here is the service, to meet Teresa and her daughter whom are both terrific, the waiter service and of course to deviate from many days and nights of Mexican food Don't expect the food to be like a little Italy in your area. It is what it is. Decent Italian food in Punta Mita. But having said that, it is pricey for what it is. For people I give Casa 5 stars Ambiance 5 stars Food. 3 stars So overall 4 stars read more

The staff was wonderful here. The mixologist was so talented and it was fun to get a drink while we waited for our table to be ready. The beet and burrata app was good. The gnocchi with scallops was not as expected as it came with tiny bay scallops instead of larger ones. The chicken piccata was good - pasta was the best part. A nice getaway from Mexican food. Unfortunately their courtyard is surrounded by buildings so there's no view and no breeze. They have a few fans but it's still HOT. The tapas were good, a variety of vegetables, cured meats, and cheeses. The pollo alla parmigiana was good, not great. The spaghetti on the side was the best part. The chicken itself, although thin and crispy, was sitting in a liquid from the vegetables on the plate so it was soggy by the time it arrived to the table. The spaghetti with truffle oil was also underwhelming. It needed some red sauce or something to help with the truffle flavor. Tiramisu and wine were fabulous! read more

WOW! My family enjoyed one of our favorite dinners out in Punta Mita at Casa Teresa. A few friends suggested we try it and when I saw the Yelp reviews we knew it was a must! From the valet driver to all of the help from everyone inside it was a great experience. The food was a whole other level of yummy- ness. We enjoyed everything we ordered. The octopus and apple appetizers were delicious. My favorite dish was the much raved avoid lasagna. The flavors!!! Quaint restaurant tucked away in the village. Great ambiance, balanced menu, acceptable wine list (we had a bottle of white and red with dinner). Super fun mocktails if you have kids in tow. Pappardelle with sausage was the hit at our table. Lobster entree was good but sauce was a bit bland. Meatball appetizer was nice and fresh. Staying in Punta Mita for the week. Casa Teresa was a good walk to the other side of town, but it immediately felt worth it. We were greeted by the friendliest staff. Our drinks were good. The atmosphere was very cool. My party of 6 was pleasantly surprised to find such a neat Italian place tucked away where it was. Food was delicious. However, it is currently 5AM and (to my knowledge) 3 out of the 6 of us (including me) have been throwing up since 3AM. #foodpoisoning read more

Wow, what a meal. Most of the restaurants on the main drag have similar menus, so we decided tonight for Italian. We are from New York with some of the best Italian outside of Italy. I think I had one of the best pasta dishes ever, their "messy" rigatoni. Octopus and meatball appetizers were great. Nice wine list. Margaritas were very good. We also asked for an off menu item that they were happy to prepare. Very attentive waiters and attention from the husband and wife owners. Covid protocols well followed. You must wear a mask when entering restaurant until you reach your table. That's what's required in Mexico which is fine. Next trip to Punta Mita, I'll certainly return. read more

Okay this restaurant is very nice and i love the atmosphere the food was defs high quality but they just didn't seem to try very hard with us. My shrimp tasted very off but the pasta was incredible. We waited at least an hours for out food and we had a big issue with the tents they set up because it was raining. They just kept blowing over and they kept putting them up and down because of the fire place. There was a fire going for some reason on the other side of court yard and it smelled horrible we all came home reeking of camp fire and it took them three tables of complaints to finally put it out. It wasn't even there for any reason. Also, the food was quite over priced for how it tasted. So all in all , the food was good yet over princes and the circumstances and atmosphere were very poor and made our dining experience very unpleasant. read more

We visited this restaurant 2 1/2 years ago and were sadly disappointed in our experience this time. The food was terrible; crunchy/tasteless pasta, overpriced, and tiny portions. The ambiance mirrored a bee hive. The patio swarmed with waitstaff hustling here and there and did not let us relax and enjoy the setting and company at all. An unbelievable restaurant. The food, the drinks, the ambience, the service, the push for wine button.... I could go on. As soon as we walked in we were greeted, and noticed our name was up on a board welcoming us and others with reservations. As we walked through the restaurant to our table, I was taken back by the decor, it was truly beautiful. We were seated and right away were asked what drinks we wanted. I ordered a basil mojito, and it was one of the best basil mojitos I've ever had. A "press for wine" button was left on our table for when we were ready for more, we loved it. The drinks came with the quickness, along with some yummy bread and some balsamic vinegar dip. We ordered food soon after that. I ordered the gnocchi, and HOT DAMN IT WAS THE BEST THING I HAVE EVER EATEN IN MY WHOLE ENTIRE LIFE. I actually ate the whole thing. I was so full and so happy. Lovely family owned Italian restaurant. We go at least once every time we come to Punta Mita. The food including the pasta is all handmade. There are gluten free pastas as well which is nice because some of my family is sensitive. The seafood is as you would expect from an elite restaurant on the ocean. The wines range From reasonable to the occasional bottle of French first growth. We don't usually order from the menu. The owners Nadia and Martine just take care of us. The atmosphere is cozy and feels more like eating in a friend's house or patio. When the weather is nice and it usually is, dinner is served outside. read more

What a great, unique restaurant in Punta de Mita. The family that owns Casa Teresa is extremely friendly and they make you feel right at home. After a couple days of Mexican dinners, Italian was just what we needed. Everything we had was fantastic, and paired with a very solid wine list. The Timpano and gnocchi were crowd favorites for entrees. I was really blown away by their caprese. Instead of the traditional use of a tomato 'base', they use roasted apples. Let me start by saying that service here is fantastic. Everyone is friendly and welcoming and they really make you feel good and relaxed. Drinks were great too. Unfortunately, the food was really bad. Or maybe we shouldn't order fish in the Italian restaurant? Done so badly, really weird taste, floating in oil, on the bed of overcooked bell papers.. And the famous lasagna??? Nothing famous about that dish! We did not order starters, and after those bad dishes, we paid and left, didn't have any desire trying deserts. Sorry, maybe we should of stick to pizza and pasta, but no matter what, for a restaurant who has 4.5 stars on yelp, our meal was truly disapointed! read more

My family has been coming to Casa Teresa for many years. Sadly tonight will be our last. The food is great and the service is great also. However, after a few bottles of wine they thought is was Ok to "PAD" to the wine bill. Fortunately I quickly saw the increase of over $600 peso's and complained. They quickly removed after I complained. That should have never happened. We do not need this type of restaurant in Punta Mita that tries to take advantage of our tourists. We have many great restaurants in Punta Mita who are honest and willing to provide an honest service for our tourists. This was disappointing since we considered them as our Italian Mexican family. We were brought to the restaurant based on the recommendation of our driver who brought us into town from the St Regis resort. We were not disappointed! Though the restaurant doesn't have an ocean view, the attentive staff, fun atmosphere, and excellent food more than made up for it. This was our second trip here. Went here for Xmas dinner with our Orange County CA friends. Always very friendly, courteous and professional service. The lasagna is fabulous as were all the entrees our party of 4 selected. Nice wine menu and great cocktails.
