We have made this a tradition each visit we make to Punta Mita. Always attentive service, exceptional food & beautiful views. The seared tuna was fantastic possibly the best we have ever had. Came in here fully loaded after watching the sunset over at the St. Regis. We were gonna eat there, but it would have left our pockets on life support... although this simply is a "I need to raise my income" problem, so that's on me. The 5 of us stumbled into La Pescadora with no reservation on a Saturday night and waited 10 minutes at the bar before we were seated about 20 feet from the water, feet in the sand. They have sort of flood lights pointed to the edge of the water so you can see the tide move up and down which is an amazing touch tbh. These small details really do take an experience from good to great. I'm beginning to see that more and more... Upon being seated, I remembered that this is the place that serves the piña colada that has been touched by the hand of god himself. Legit the best piña I've ever had. Better than anywhere in Puerto Rico which is the birthplace of the piña. But to be fair, it's a lot of factors that add to my sense of taste: the ambiance is perfect, glassware is ELITE, they pour extra rum on top of your piña right in front of you, my feet are literally in the sand with small waves breaking 20 feet from me, etc. BUT IT ALSO IS JUST A BOMB PINA SO GET OFF MY HEAD! I looked up how to say "heavy pour" in Spanish and began chanting "VERTER PESADO! VERTER PESADO!" as he was about to pour the rum and boy did our server oblige. It was a verter pesado fr. We ordered guac to start and this is one of those places where they make it right in front of you, which was another amazing detail. Good to great. At this point a mariachi band came around and took song requests. The piña began to take the wheel so I'm blanking on the songs but they were eatin it up. Thank god we had cash to tip, that coulda been real ugly lol. I ordered the catch of the day because I am a beast, and it legit tasted like it had been caught earlier in the day... I mean kind of a dumb comment from me lol it's literally called catch of the day, but nonetheless it was delicious and I demolished it like it owed me money. My nickname in high school was actually "Demolition Man." I allegedly ate half of my girlfriend's burger and loved it, but at this point I think the piña really had full control of the wheel as I have no recollection of that. One of dem ones.... One of my favorite restaurants in the world. The food, the people, the ambiance - all of it is incredible. Omar & the whole staff we interact with are the kindest people who are so much greater than just amazing hospitality; they are genuinely incredible and make my time in Punta Mita so special. The group of live musicians led by Carla and her family is also heart warming. They too are the best people who play and sing great music. The food is the best food I have when in Punta Mita. The tuna is like butter, so fresh it melts in your mouth. Same goes for the Ribs, they fall right off the bone in the tastiest sauce. The cooked fish is very fresh and delicious as well. It's somewhere between a drink and a dessert! The guac was hand-made tableside. The fried calamari was among the best I've ever had. So fresh. The coconut shrimp and blue shrimp were out of this world good. The coconut shrimp had a nice thick batter yet the shrimp were not the least bit overcooked. We finished with a complimentary delicious chocolate dessert. About the only thing I didn't care for was the huachinango (whole snapper on the bone). The fish itself was cooked perfectly but it lacked flavor. I opted for Adobo. Maybe go with the garlic option if given the choice. read more

The food, atmosphere, and service are absolutely top-shelf. If you're staying anywhere in Punta Mita, La Pescadora is a must-visit. They hand-mash the guacamole and salsa in mortars at the table, the fish is caught fresh every day and prepared with delicious local marinades, drinks are stellar (try a mezcal marg), and the vibe is immaculate. So good we've eaten here 3 times in 2 days thus far, and each time has been fantastic. All the staff are incredibly kind, and really made us feel like true amigos--part of the family. After our meal the chef even came out to explain how he cooks the fish (we had red snapper), because we couldn't believe how juicy and flavorful it was. Oh, and they have a bunch of different seating options: Tables on the sand, bar seats facing the ocean, and an elevated dining room just above the beach with waves lapping below. So anything from a quick lunch (the poké bowl is awesome) to casual beachside drinks, to a full feast at dinner time with live music, these guys have it figured out. Wow wow wow! I came here based on the TripAdvisor and yelp reviews and did not disappoint! Not only does it have the most stunning views, we sat in the sand with the most delightful waiter and the most exceptional service. My husband and I enjoyed the tableside guacamole and ceviche served with homemade chips. Both were delicious. Again, wow. For our entrées my husband had and I had the shrimp tacos both were out of this world amazing. Both served with homemade corn tortillas. Our drinks were also quite delicious mine was very innovative. I had a pina colada that was a frozen purée and then, tableside, the server poured the Bacardi. The fresh shredded coconut kept getting stuck in the straw. It was delightful!!! We weren't meaning to come here. We stopped at Si Senor first but they were fully booked not taking any walk ins. They called The Blue Shrimp for us and we walked over. We were seated at a honeymoon table on the sand just as the sun was setting. There were so many small touches that made the service here outstanding. They have little stands for your purse. They provide you with towels to clean your hands. The food here was excellent. Everything was full of flavor and super fresh. I will say that it is a bit pricey but the service really made it worth it. read more

We were wandering Punta Mita perusing the various options and decided on Pescadora as one of our party was hankering for a hamborguesa (hamburger). We got a great table in this open air restaurant with a tremendous view of the water and marina. We quickly ordered the table side guacamole, salsa and queso for our chips and it was all so great. An additional thing they provide here at La Pescadora is a set of various and unique hot sauces, which all were great. We also received a great chilled seafood cocktail shot "compliments of the chef" that got us started off great. All the food was terrific, drinks and service was great. The same owners also own Si Señor so we knew the food would be good It has a nice blue hue lighting around the restaurant with a casual yet upscale feel on the water The bar is great and fully stocked with 100's of tequilas and other libations Our waiter was Henry and he was terrific. Ask for Henry! He poured us very heavy pours of tequila on the rocks and in our margaritas where he counted to eight slowly They gave us an amuse bouche of tuna tartare on an Avocado bed on a crunchy blue chip Tortilla. This was the best thing I have eaten all trip The yellow fin sashimi was fresh and delicious My wife had snapper with picatta sauce. We were staying in Punta de Mita over Christmas and made a reservation here for Christmas Eve. The service was great, we had a wonderful waiter who made suggestions and told us the specials. My husband had the lobster and I had mahi mahi. To start we had a tuna stack which was arguably the best part of the meal. They also had great mocktails which I appreciated as I'm cutting back on alcohol. We had a seat right on the beach which was lovely during sunset, however we were constantly approached by vendors and children walking by attempting to sell things. Normally I don't mind this but it was Christmas Eve and we were trying to enjoy a nice meal. At one point two young girls stood at our table for nearly 10 minutes while we tried to eat. We repeated that we weren't interested in the trinkets they were selling but they refused to leave us alone. It was quite uncomfortable. I wish the restaurant would discourage this. Also for the price the food was good but not great. We had much better meals in Sayulita later in our trip for half the price. read more

I ordered the Shrimp Chipotle tacos & OMG- AMAZING! I've been raving about them for weeks to anyone who will listen... and I am already planning my return trip for more! Highly recommend! We ventured out to the Blue Shrimp via a quick n' easy cab ride from the Iberostar. We visited on a weeknight and they led us to a table on the water right away. You cannot beat the views! Leo, our server, was funny and charming. We started with a margarita (GENEROUS pour of tequila at the table - wow!) and ordered the queso to start. We were surprised to get a nice amuse - fresh tuna on a tasty chip - and the queso did not disappoint. SO decadent, served with fresh and warm tortillas to make little quesadillas. We opted for coconut shrimp and blue shrimp and both were simply outstanding. Flavorful, fresh, delicious. The grilled blue shrimp was to DIE for, and I'd come back here just to eat that in the future! I can't get seafood like this at home - and this was just outstanding in preparation and presentation. We were too stuffed for dessert, but Leo brought out a small chocolate tart with a fresh strawberry for us to finish out the meal, anyway. Some live roaming music really accented the atmosphere - we really felt like we were on vacation here. Secluded, beautiful, wonderful service.
