Great food and great service! The must have dish is the stuffed shrimp filled cheese and ham and wrapped in bacon.

This might be our new favorite restaurant for steaks seafood and pasta. Great service and every dish was perfect. Seafood soup was a little bigger than I thought and included fish not listed on the description. If you can't eat certain things please ask what is in the soup that day. We had streak, pasta, the red snapper dish and the lobster special with shrimp. There was empty plates after all of us were done. Except for me since my soup was so big I could not finish my meal but it made a good breakfast the next day. We can't wait to come back again. Also prices are low. Currently they are a little higher then online menu that is posted on website but still very reasonable. read more

We ended up at this place by chance before a show at the Stages theater a few doors down. ATMOSPHERE: Simple and clean bistro-like interior in white, with nice hanging art work. Servers standby, waiting to tend to you. Plus, they weren't too busy. A single mariachi singer walked around for tips. MENU: Apps, salads, soups, seafood, steak, pastas, Mexican fare. FOOD: Seafood Casserole - This is a medley of 2 mussels, a couple of shrimp, plentiful calamari rings, and a single skinny leg & claw of a tiny rock crab along with its midsection, done in a garlic butter sauce. Flavor was good, and everything was cooked nicely, but the crab claw was so small, the meat that was pulled out was a tease. The midsection, where all the legs attach to the body, had no meat inside! Don't bother putting it in if you're gonna use such a crappy piece of the crab!? My crab cracker came a few minutes late; better than never. Filet Mignon - My spouse's dish. The server said that the dish was customizable, so he added on 2 giant prawns that were wrapped in bacon then pan fried. I had a bite, which was good, but what isn't that's done with bacon?! The thick cut meat was pretty rare, which he sort of enjoyed, but said wasn't "prepared well." SERVICE: Our male server was friendly and professional. Roberto knows fresh seafood, this is the flagship of PV. The Mahi Mahi special was fantastic. We came here during the art walk and he seated all 11 of us in 10 minutes. The place was full and they created another table for us. They had a run on the Sea Bass so we dined too late for that. The tortilla soup was amazing, the smoked marlin in chipotle sauce was excellent. The steaks had amazing flavor but were a bit tougher than prime cuts. The other visitors seemed annoyed that our 22 month infant was playing the piano. The noise level was up there, many just ate on. read more

Heard it was a great place. Servers outside said everything made fresh, but we ordered the shrimp pasta with alfredo sauce and so salty had to send it back. They did it again and slightly better but still too salty. The sauce tasted like thick alfredo made from canned milk. They gave us one free flan dessert even though I had only the shrimp, not the pasta. Should of taken it off the bill but did not. Wonderful staff but very disappointed in the food! read more

This is along overdue review, yet I still can't firget how good everything that we're ordered in the menu that day. First time fown to PV with my husband and our 2 years old, after spending the day strolling around old town our eyes caught this place. We decided to have lunch and rest because my son is close to his nap time. The restaurant just started to get ready for dinner time and Roberto himself greeted us, gave us suggestions and took our order. He had great time chatting with him and his staff Tony.. we spent good time to enjoy iur food and rest while my son was asleep. Food are incredible, I would say one of the best seafood we ever had. Every bite is a surprised goodness. Roberto told us that their food always using fresh caught. I would definitely visit them again and recommend them to all of my friend that visiting PV. read more

I have wanted to eat here since I came to Puerto Vallarta. It is restaurant weeks here and $269 pesos for a 3 course meal it's worth a try. I was promptly greeted into the restaurant. I ordered a glass of sparkling wine. It came to me flat. They brought me a glass of a sweet sparkling wine but I wanted a dry wine. I wish they had a better wine selection. I found a Merlot that tasted ok. I ordered the salmon bruschetta, Aztec Steak, and chocolate cake. At first I was served stale chips. The salmon b was overpowered by the vinegarette. The salmon looked frozen. I didn't taste the salmon at all. Next came the steak. It was served with beans,rice, and guacamole. The steaks was well prepared. The rice a bit on the mushy side. Maybe a hearty vegetable and less guacamole would be better. With all of the restaurant choices out there in PV, I may not make it back for a bit. A wine list, fresh food, and a bar-raising experience is not what I received. The service was good and the staff friendly, but the food to me was average. I was surprised since my friends here have only spoken well of the place. Give it to an off night. I had to try a few bites of the chocolate cake and take the rest home. It was fresh and moist. Wow what a dinner! Started with some tuna carpaccio , the tuna was extremely fresh and it came with a very inventive soy sauce that made it very delicious! I had the six prawn special of the night and it was special! Two shrimp were in garlic butter two were coconut shrimp in a coconut mango purée and the last two were stuffed with ham and cheese then wrapped in bacon then grilled they were my faves! read more

A slightly classier restaurant, but incredibly friendly waiters and hosts. One of them took the time to explain their specials for the day and he had us sold. We got: 1) Guacamole - creamy and fresh, modest proportion enough for 2, but wish we got more chips to go along with it. 2) Tamarind margarita (frozen) - pretty tasty, lots of lime, couldn't really pick out the tamarind. We would probably have chosen a different flavor. 3) Whole red snapper - a pretty small fish, deheaded and deboned, then stuff with shrimp and octopus, with some vegetables, rice, and two jumbo shrimp in your chosen style on the side. The fish tasted really good, very well seasoned and not overcooked, but all the portions were quite small, even the sides. 4) Jumbo Shrimp Platter - 6 shrimp, two in each of garlic butter, coconut shrimp, and Puerto Nuevo style (stuffed with ham and cheese and wrapped in bacon). Each were tasty, though with the last one the shrimp flavor was definitely overpowered. Overall, very hospitable staff, classy environment, but fairly small portions. read more

First time we've eaten at Roberto's. The food was delicious. It was low season, so the location was a little slow. But Roberto came out and met us personally, and went over the specials. His staff was wonderful, and he made sure we felt welcome and was satisfied with our meals. The pasta Bolognese was amazing, and my guests fish was cooked perfectly, stuffed with shrimp. Definitely a must visit when in Puerto Vallarta. We will be returning. read more

Based on my only time here and reading prior reviews, I'd say their specialty is seafood. The appetizer of shrimp, mushrooms in a sauce that reminded me of Louisiana BBQ shrimp (buttery and seasoned) served with garlic bread for dipping was outstanding. We also savored the red snapper and the Mahi Mahi served with a small lobster tail. Roberto's also has a nice selection of Mexican, Argentinian and Chilean wines. Staff is super friendly and the atmosphere was very pleasant (comfortable chairs, soothing music, A/C, white linen tablecloths, etc. I don't really know PV that well but several glasses of wine and lunch was about $40. I'm a happy camper! Recommend highly! read more

Calamari with red sauce on a bed of pickled cabbage; octopus that was as tender as butter; whole red snapper cooked to perfection with interesting spices; and a classic flan for dessert. With all these amazing reviews, I feel like I was there on an off night. I ordered the red snapper, which others in my group had before and said was amazing. I have never had red snapper and had to ask them if it was still amazing. To me, it was quite dry and nothing special. I may go back another time? And if I do, I will make sure that they don't run my credit card twice for my meal again. :( read more

We had a great time here. The owner was extremely warm and friendly and really cares about the service and quality. We started out with Cucumber Margaritas which was a bit too sweet for me but my wife enjoyed it. The Peking Shrimp was so fresh and well seasoned. The Calamari was good maybe not great. Then the main meals were outstanding. Fish of the day was Mahi Mahi, lobster was tender, and the red snapper was a favorite. We would definitely come back again!
