This place is rated #1 best restaurant on TripAdvisor and highly rated on Yelp Most people said you need to book Rosa twice during your trip which is what we did It was our first night in Punta Mita and we went out with another family. Nine of us I knew we were in trouble when it took 30 minutes to get our margaritas The guacamole was good and the salsa was good but that was where it ended All our meals were overcooked and ice cold and most of the dishes they got wrong They apologized but it wasn't enough The service was bad. The waiter staff had no clue what they were doing. Although the management comped our meal, I would have gladly paid to have had a nice experience In the end I also cancelled my second reservation I do not recommend this place at all. Go to Si Señor or Blue Shrimp which are a few restaurants away from Rosa

What a great little local restaurant on the water. It is casual and open air and we had dinner and drinks as the sun set all around us. Sam and Mauricio took wonderful care of us there too. There were 8 of us and we ended up doing a family style dinner where Sam just sent out the best of the best dishes. Everything was great, would highly recommend!

This was our first food experience on our vacation in Punta de Mita and it was absolutely FABULOUS! Rosa Mexicano is a beautiful restaurant right on the beach that has great service, food, and margaritas! My family ordered the octopus and table side guacamole as an appetizer and it was delicious. He made the guacamole right in front of us. The octopus was to die for - completely melted in your mouth and full of flavor. As my entree, I ordered a stuffed poblano pepper with shrimp, dried fruits, walnuts, and pomegranate seeds. I spaced on the name of the dish, but it was so unique, flavorful, and delicious. My mom ordered the pubil/carnitas dish and my brother had the stuffed shrimp wrapped in bacon. We all enjoyed a a mango, hibiscus, and passionfruit margarita with our meal. I would highly recommend this restaurant on your trip to Punta de Mita! Just for price purposes - we got out of here for ~$97 USD for 2 appetizers, 3 entrees, and 3 margaritas + tip. Pretty good deal!

The servers could not have been more welcoming and helpful. Our meal began with a roasted tomato salsa prepared table side. It was on the house with chips. A generous tequila pour came with my margarita. For the app, we ordered the fried rib eye with guacamole. It was juicy and tasty bites for dipping. I had the grilled octopus and the serving was so huge that I had leftovers for lunch the next day. A bonus was Neptune, the surfing dog who came to our table for a snack. We had a great experience here. It was inexpensive compared to the neighboring restaurants. A beautiful evening oceanside in Punta de Mita...what could be better?

Que rico! Delicious food and excellent service! Perfecto pot todo!

Rosa Mexicano is now our favorite restaurant in Punta Mita! The food is incredibly fresh, and there is something for even the pickiest of eaters. If your lucky to have Oscar make you guacamole and fresh roasted tomato salsa table side, you're in for a real treat. The salsa was complimentary, and there wasn't the flim flam that you get at the other restaurants along the row. We can't wait to return on our next visit!

***Please note that my review, written 2 years ago, was for the location in Bucerias in the Zona Dorado on Calle Lazara Cardenas, between Javier Mina & Abasolo. It appears that Yelp has moved the address to Punta Mita, due to either a location change or newer branch. When I was last in Bucerias in November of 2015, the original location appeared to still exist.*** Came here on a Friday night in early March during a recent vacation to Bucerias, and we enjoyed ourselves thoroughly. Though a little cheesy, with stereotypical mariachi entertainment on Fri & Sat nights, it was nonetheless a very enjoyable experience. Food was delicious and authentic, with an emphasis on the fresh, regional cuisines of Mexico. Seating is open-air in a very picturesque and large garden backyard, and the traditional equipale furniture is comfortable and accented with the brilliant rosa mexicana hued linens that is its namesake. Very appealing setting. There is a full tequila bar set up for the aficionados such as my husband who can walk over and choose a specialty brand to sip. The complimentary salsa is made tableside in the traditional manner-- in a volcanic stone molcajete where the roasted whole tomato is crushed together with all the other ingredients (lime, onion, garlic, jalapenos, cilantro) and served with homemade tortilla chips. Hubby and I thought everything we had was delicious-- we split a shrimp molcajete, (which came out sizzling with panela cheese, chorizo sausage, nopal, onion and borracha sauce) and a nopales (cactus) salad. Yes, the place was chock-full of gringos, but after a couple of (delicious) margaritas, who really cares? Just expect prices to reflect this, though! For a couple of drinks each (ME: margarita & wine, HUBS: tequila & beer), glass of milk for la nina, and the (shared) entree and salad, our total was 680 pesos (~ $54 US), inc tax/tip.

Be sure to show up for sunset. Beach front tables with a great view of Punta Mita waters. The molcajete is the specialty but the bacon wrapped shrimp is also pretty awesome. Local lobster taco special also very good. Pair with a hibiscus margarita. More family place than haute cuisine. We have been 5 times over several years and always enjoy.

I loved this place so much! It's so colorful, truly gives you the Mexico beach restaurant vibe. We sat outside, the tables are set up on top of the the sand, the outside is lit up by really cute lights and gives this very romantic vibe. The servers were so helpful and made really delicious recommendations. I love t that Rosa Mexicano makes the guac and salsa in your table. Honestly every time I think of punta de mita I think of this place!

Not only was the food amazing, but the service was amazing. The owner spoke to us and let us know how grateful he was that we came to support the restaurant, as they have been closed for 8 months due to COVID. We loved the table side salsa and fish tacos. Everything is good. Go here!

    Grilled Octopus

We have been in Punta Mita for 5 days and have eaten at all the "best" restaurants- this by far has been my favorite! The friendly service and amazing views of the Pacific just made it that much better. My family really enjoyed themselves! I highly recommend as a must if your in Punta Mita. We asked the chef to choose various tacos for my daughter and I and it was remarkable. The grilled octopus for an appetizer was perfectly grilled and so fresh. Best we have had during our entire stay. My husband had the enchiladas and cleaned his plate... Cocktails were also spot on. We only have a few nights left and will be back. Excellent on every level.

Mom's birthday dinner! Bring on the Molcahete!

We ordered the bbq for 2. It was a plate with some of everything(beef, ribs, chicken, pork and sausage) and cactus, grilled onions, beans, tortillas and a couple of small quesadillas on the side. Our server spoke excellent English and the place was very comfortable. They have a nice area for kids. If you want to come during the day and have them hang out there while they're waiting for their food. I got the barbecue sauce which is a side that you have to ask for and it was very tasty We really enjoyed this place. It felt more authentic and more local than most of the places we normally go to in the South part of the town on the coast. It was about a third less expensive.

Rooftop patio with twinkle lights, friendly and attentive service, and delicious food -- what more can you ask for! We got the guacamole and tuna sashimi as appetizers, and the guacamole (as well as the complimentary salsa) was made right at the table to our exact specifications (mild, please!). We weren't really drinking tonight, so got virgin strawberry daiquiris which were essentially delicious smoothies. I bet the real ones are top notch, too. For mains, I had the chicken fajitas, which came with additional guacamole, rice, and beans in a build-your-own style. My partner had the tomato cream soup, which came with biscuits and had a beautiful presentation. We asked if they served lunch on the way out (they do, opens at 2pm), since we can't wait to come back. We got two churros to go since some of the reviews raved about them -- still too full to eat them but looking forward to it!

You're literally sitting in the sand--like, toes-in-the-grains, "I might build a sandcastle between courses" levels of beachy. And the water? Ridiculously close. One enthusiastic wave and you might get a free foot rinse. The seafood was fresh enough to make me feel like I should personally thank the ocean, but the true star... the coconut dessert. Oh. My. Goodness. Whoever invented that dessert deserves an award, a parade, and maybe even a national holiday. It was creamy, dreamy, tropical perfection, and I have legitimately been thinking about it every single day since my last bite. If "dessert withdrawal" is a thing, I have it. If you like great food, beautiful views, or desserts that will haunt your dreams (in the BEST way), this place is a must. I'm already planning my return--strictly for coconut therapy.

While they do have a couple of tables inside the open air restaurant and a few at the bar, the majority of the seats are on the beach. We could have sat inside, but the view was so pretty that we stayed outdoors. We started with the roasted potato churros with a side of black caviar which, surprisingly was delicious! For our main meal, we dined on the grilled whole lobster and meat & mole with a side of grilled mushrooms. The meal was delicious, but the lobster was local and the tail was not as big as I would have liked for the price that we paid. Arturo, our waiter surprised me for my birthday and brought out a shaved coconut filled with mango, crumble and tapioca. This was arguably one of the best meals during our week long trip and Arturo was a great waiter.
