Chevy Cheria is everything I dream about life: panoramic ocean view, my feet in the sand, cold margarita and ceviche galore! This ceviche stand and bar is one of four restaurants at the new W Hotel in Punta de Pita. I ate there Every. Single. Day. Ceviches, oysters, chips and the spiciest salsas (!ten cuidado!), potent drinks... they even fed me the tequila worm. :/ Trust, you do NOT want to see that snapchat video. (Nor the drunken hysteria that followed) If you see Chef Manuel Jimenez Magallon AKA "El Shy Chef" behind the bar, tell him Farrah and Mishi from Houston send their best! Follow him on Instagram too! @chefmjm

I've loved everything I've had here. But especially the ceviche with jicama, apples and avocado. The sauce is with lime, olive oils and a bit of basil's

Well, first, let me start by saying this place is absolutely stunning. Wow. From the greenery, to…read morethe buildings, and beach lights, it's very romantic and gives me honeymoon/babymoon vibes. It's kinda a trek to get to the restaurant. We did not stay at the resort, but were able to make a reservation to eat here. We arrived by uber and they got us a golf cart to take us to where the restaurant was. The Menu was big at Venazu, but honestly nothing sounded good for me, and we were allowed to order from the Thai restaurant which was like 2 feet away from where we were seated. Some of our friends ordered from the Venazu menu and were not disappointed in the fish. We got queso, and that was yummy with the tortillas. The Thai Food was mid. Honestly, we shouldn't have ordered anything.. because the pad thai was not pad thai. The only thing things that were good were the samosas and korean fried chicken. The edamame was overcooked. The curry was alright, but could have been spicier. We ended our meal with churros and ice cream and that was a favorite. They made up for the meal with the churros. It's very overpriced for quality... just my opinion.

Seating available was both indoor and outdoor. Menu ranges from breakfast options to dinner. I suggest trying the juevos benedictos Mexicano. If you want to enjoy a delicious take on eggs benedict. Ambiance for this restaurant is resort casual to dressy depending on how/what you are celebrating (date night, honeymoon) and the views from every seat are of the beautiful resort. And in the evenings this place is lit up so beautifully. Swing by, grab a delicious margarita, and enjoy this beautiful restaurant.

We ordered the bbq for 2. It was a plate with some of everything(beef, ribs, chicken, pork and sausage) and cactus, grilled onions, beans, tortillas and a couple of small quesadillas on the side. Our server spoke excellent English and the place was very comfortable. They have a nice area for kids. If you want to come during the day and have them hang out there while they're waiting for their food. I got the barbecue sauce which is a side that you have to ask for and it was very tasty We really enjoyed this place. It felt more authentic and more local than most of the places we normally go to in the South part of the town on the coast. It was about a third less expensive.

Rooftop patio with twinkle lights, friendly and attentive service, and delicious food -- what more can you ask for! We got the guacamole and tuna sashimi as appetizers, and the guacamole (as well as the complimentary salsa) was made right at the table to our exact specifications (mild, please!). We weren't really drinking tonight, so got virgin strawberry daiquiris which were essentially delicious smoothies. I bet the real ones are top notch, too. For mains, I had the chicken fajitas, which came with additional guacamole, rice, and beans in a build-your-own style. My partner had the tomato cream soup, which came with biscuits and had a beautiful presentation. We asked if they served lunch on the way out (they do, opens at 2pm), since we can't wait to come back. We got two churros to go since some of the reviews raved about them -- still too full to eat them but looking forward to it!

Awesome service and food, great cocktails and amazing value... this is 5 star basics!…read more This is my kinda spot- a place to unwind, chill, mingle with strangers and locals while just enjoying the simple life. Screw all the expensive decor and pretentious small plates and even smaller drinks you'll find in most of the resorts and commercialized/tourist downtown areas. Kids here are running amok having fun In and out of the water while older kids are drinking, eating, singing and playing. The vibe is laid back and casual...most everyone here ARENT tourists. This is a locals spot so if you come check it out be sure you don't ruin it... loud, drunk, rude and arrogant isn't allowed! Ariel, our mesero, was friendly, helpful and laid back. He's super attentive and took great care of us while giving us plenty of time and space to just chill and relax. Everything we ordered was killer... tostada ceviche pulpo, guacamole and zarandeado frito spot on! Drinks well balanced w liquor and flavor and the service made it all the better. I rarely give a 5 star on an initial visit, but this crew deserves it!
