Lobster bisque was ok. The fish of the day was sea bass and was cooked nicely. My wife's cocktail didn't seem to have any alcohol and when we told the server her shrugged off. We left our hotel to have a nice dinner with our family and we were not disappointed! This place is decorated to the nines with tables lining the water so you can hear the waves crashing! The food was nothing short of incredible. Everything you wanted from a high end seafood place and more. -This may have been the largest lobster I've ever eaten! Definitely enough for two people! -The shrimp were cooked to perfection multiple ways. -The snapper was fillet to perfection and came with a bunch of sides to make yourself the perfect snapper taco. -The steak eaters in my party were all happy with their selection! When dining in another country if you do not have any personal recommendations, you have to rely on reviews and they can vary across the board when looking at Yelp, Google and Trip Advisor. Lobster Paradise was a toss up ranging from the top 10 to the top 5 and after dining here, I have no idea how this even made the top 20. For our last meal ending our incredible stay at The St. Regis, we thought it would be nice to come here as I was ready for a nice full lobster that did not break the bank, but we made the mistake of not asking the staff at the hotel for their thoughts on the place. We later found out that not only is it very touristy, but several guests ended up with food poisoning. We should have also known to turn around and not pass go when we entered on a Sunday evening to only 1 other occupied table. We were seated on the beach which did not have the best view, but it is a bit elevated off the sand, so we were not overly harassed by peddlers, although they still tried. We kept hearing about the tableside caesar salad and it was the best part of the meal. Although I wanted a full lobster, I really wanted coconut shrimp and my husband ordered the whole fish fried. The shrimp was huge and it was good although the mango sauce was gross and bland whereas mango sauce is usually sweet and pairs well with the shrimp. Due to the sauce being so bland, I was just left with huge dry coconut shrimp. At Las Marietas, we had the most incredible fried whole fish and there was no comparison to what my husband got at Lobster Paradise. It was not fried crispy and it lacked seasoning. He was so disappointed that I wanted to cry. I wanted to leave and go back to Las Marietas to salvage our last meal, but my husband just dealt with it. This was arguably the worst meal of our week long vacation and I do not understand what people like about this place. read more

Really nice, air conditioned restaurant. My husband and I shared lobster tail with shrimp orzo and mashed potatoes as the sides which was delicious. The lobster tail came with several dipping sauces including plain butter and garlic butter (garlic butter was amazing)!! The other 2 of our group shared lobster bisque and catch of the day with pistachio crust. We also shared tableside guacamole which is made in front of you and is chefs kiss. If you want a fancier type dinner this would be the place to go! read more

Leaving "The Artic Blast" experienced last week in Chicago was an act of good fortune for this Ex-California man, not used to such frigid weather. Punta Mita, Mexico was a welcomed relief for this unsuspecting person not trained to handle a subzero climate. Warm tropical breezes was the perfect remedy for a complete thawing out. Having never been to this part of Mexico, I didn't know what to expect other than warm sunshine. With that being said, me and my wife quickly acquainted ourselves to the cuisine of this region. Lobster Paradise, was a quick learn for this seaside resorts cooking. Obviously seafood was first and foremost in its repertoire. This magnificent restaurant on the beach had waves breaking just feet from our table; I loved this. Their menu read like a San Francisco Fisherman's Wharf menu, without the "tourist" hook. I ordered a gargantuan lobster tail with more dipping condiments than I have fingers. It was delicious. It came with two sides that I devoured. My wife had lobster enchiladas that she totally enjoyed. The ambiance, service, excellent food was a terrific way to "kick Off" our snowbird vacation. We both decided to make this resort and this restaurant a yearly journey. read more

A more apt name for this restaurant would be "Lobster Hell". The Lobster was completely mushy and inedible. We sent it back. They tried again and delivered us the most overcooked lobster I have ever witnessed. I think it is honestly animal abuse for how long they overcooked it. CRUEL. Everything here was terrible and overpriced. Just go to Mina. Much better food. Service here was decent expect for when the floor manager tried to charge my grandmother for taking one bite of the Lobster and spitting it out. This place is terrible and should be shut down. As for ambiance, when we imeadiatly sat down, we were sat next to a giant family with multiple crying babies. I felt like I was on the flight home already and boy was I ready to leave after this disastrous dinner. Please spend your money somewhere else, I promise you will be much happier and better off. (Also no kids menu other than buttered noodles so definitely not kid friendly) this place is truly abominable and we couldn't leave fast enough. Came here for dinner without reservations but were seated on the deck with a view. Had the guac and Caesar salad made at the table which was fun. Both were tasty. My BIL had the mushroom soup and lobster enchiladas. He thought both were interesting. My sister had shrimp which were good. I had the seafood soup which was also good. Our waiter was friendly, showed us the lobster and blue shrimp options and gave us the price for these. A bit on the pricey side but nice ambiance and view. read more

Our family came to celebrate my Grandparent's 50th wedding anniversary. The food was delicious, some things like the lobster pizza were more adventurous so be sure to ask your server plenty of questions before you decide. The seafood is fresh. I see some other reviews complaining about the market price of fish and other seafood however our server was very clear about the price. The best part was that the staff were very friendly and made sure our celebration was special! Our server and the kitchen chefs were also very accommodating when we asked for our steaks to be brought to a higher temperature. The view was also very beautiful. Only complaint is the many vendors that were walking along the beach while we were eating and interrupting our meal. read more

Our experience at Lobster Paradise was unbelievable! We went with friends that had been there many times before, having always said amazing things about it, and it did not disappoint. With a table right next to the water, we at Caesar salad that was made table side for us by Carlos, one of our amazing servers. It was more than just someone making a salad in front of you... it was a show, for sure! All the food and drinks we ordered were fantastic, with a few "on-the-house" items thrown in as well. Not only was Carlos a super attentive server, but we had a few others that helped us out, including Tom, that catered to all our needs.... even before we knew we needed them! I really felt quite spoiled with the attention and service we received. I can't recommend this place enough, and can NOT wait to go back again! This place was not very good. We ventured into this restaurant shortly after having an incredible meal in the same neighboring area the night before. We should have taken a hint by the fact that we were only one of two tables dining in at this restaurant. In fact, in my experience, when something is good--there is no need to highlight the fact that something is "the best" "the tastiest" or in this case a "lobster paradise." Yes, they had lots of lobster--but it wasn't very good. It was more like a lobster nightmare. It's hard to pinpoint exactly what has gone wrong with this establishment, but here are some general observations. The seafood (including the lobster plate) was just not very good as it lacked flavor and tasted overcooked. They oddly serve their bread in small sealed baggies as if they were literally just bought from the local grocery store. I went to Lobster Paradise with a group of 5 and thus had the opportunity to try a number or platters, including the infamous lobster. Objectively, none of the plates were good. With regards to the service, it was just as bad--they couldn't seem to get anything right and it was altogether undeniably the worst meal we had during our 5 day trip in Punta Mita. For whatever reason they were under the belief that we had been to Lobster Paradise in the past--which was not the case. Based on that mistaken belief, they kindly compted us a piece of cake. Sadly, the cake said "Welcome Bake [not back]" All things considered, I think the Spicy Margarita was as really good and I hope management can find a way to turn things around. read more

Second time visiting. And sadly it was beyond disappointing. Took about 30 min to order and another 30 mins for drinks. It was pretty empty. Finally around an hour and half later got our food. And it was the worst I've had here. Lobster enchiladas were overcooked and included the skin which was like chewing on plastic. No one checked on us. But they were gladly serving all the underage tourists alcohol. Walking out felt like a spring break gone wild with underage children. Won't be returning ever again. I don't appreciate the owner accusing me of lying. What do I gain from lying ? No other business has ever made that accusation. This "paradise" is a classic tourist trap. We were pleased to watch a waiter prepare fresh guacamole and Cesar salad next to our table. These were both very good but we were surprised that the tortilla chips were stale and arrived at our table in plastic packaging. When we placed our order with a different waiter, he encouraged us to order the lobster tail, never mentioning that the "market price" listed on the menu is over 3000 pesos = USD $180 -- six times the cost of all other entrees! The waiter encouraged everyone at our table to order entrees, not mentioning that the lobster would be large enough for 3 people. The lobster was tasteless and rubbery, and the other fish dishes were also disappointing, as were the desserts and drinks. We felt like it was very dishonest that the waiter did not say to me when I wanted to order the lobster, that the lobster tail could be for 2 to 3 people and that it would cost $180.00! Not only was the lobster not very good, but it it was gigantic and I couldn't even eat a 1/3 of it. I never would have ordered it had i known it was that cost or that size/ The person at the table sitting next to us was also complaining that the person he was splitting it with and him couldn't finish it. I had never been told it was big enough to split. In reality it could have been split between three people. When I go to a restaurant and a dish that is the size to be shared, the waiters are up front about that and let me know. I felt like it was a scam. I have never paid $180 for any lobster dish even at the finest restaurants. Also the tortilla chips were in plastic bags and did not taste fresh. The service was amazing that's why I gave it two stars, but the food was terrible even after 2 beers. The steaks were over cooked and the sea bass was the same. Everything was over cooked almost like they forgot the food on the warmer and came back to it. Maybe it was a fluke, but our food experience was the worst. I would've rathered had a McFish from McDonald's and I haven't eaten there for 20 years. Sorry, This was my experience. read more
