We just enjoyed visiting Casa Tequilas for dinner. The food and drinks were delicious and the staff were very pleasant and friendly. Like many restaurants at this time who might be short of staff due to COVID, things may have taken a bit longer than usual, but we didn't mind because they had beautiful live music from a local singer/guitarist, Alexa Kilgore. We were actually glad to have the excuse to linger a little longer to enjoy the music. We would enjoy eating here again. read more

I would give this place ZERO stars if I could. We have eaten here maybe a dozen times over the past two months. And it is hit or miss, but mostly miss. The meals are big, but often I find the actual meat in the dish is lacking (I literally was given 4 thin strips of chicken in an entrée once). I have also had very chewy chicken, as well as chicken bones in my dishes. Given the limited options in Evergreen, we pick up from time to time for lunch during the week. I have allergies, so I ask for certain items to be withheld from my food. They have messed up my order several times, but I have tried to be patient and understanding. About two weeks ago, my meal came wrong, again, but worse than that - there was SARAN WRAP in my food. I called and asked to talk to the manager. I was admittedly upset, but instead of apologizing, he had the audacity to tell me that things like that happen and I quote 'even if you are cooking in your own kitchen you will get things like that in your food from time to time'. What??? That is NOT what you tell your customer. He did offer me a refund on my food, but I wasn't calling to ask for my money back, I was calling to let him know that they need to be more cognizant of their quality. And as a restaurant they shouldn't be messing up food orders that often. Fast forward to today. We decided to give this place one more shot. I ordered Pollo Alla Crema, which has three ingredients mixed in with the cream - Chicken, mushrooms and celery. I ordered mine with no celery (should be easy right)? How did it come? Chicken, celery, peppers, onions, and tomatoes. I am allergic to peppers, sensitive to tomatoes and do not like celery. HELLO TEQUILAS?? How do you mess it up that much? You have lost me as a customer. I am no longer going to be patient with your mistakes - you need to realize that when a customer with allergies orders a certain way, it could literally mean life or death for them. Fantastic food and friendly staff. Food is consistently good and the owner really shows how much he cares about his customers. He takes your experience personally and does everything he can to make sure you were happy with your meal. It's my favorite go to restaurant for dinner any night of the week. Eh, it's not Rio Del Sol unfortunately. It's commercial Mexican food, certainly nothing better. Don't get their salad, been gross both times we ordered it. Gross. Everything else is about as expected. Service is decent but nothing special. Often they get my order wrong when I would call in for pick up (about %35 of the time) and I speak Spanish! Been charged for extra entrees, and usually just pay for them anyway. Just as often they forget to put something in my bag and I have to drive back so make sure you check everything if you're doing take out!! I'm a foodie so I'm being persnickety but it's what we eat when we're sick (don't ask why). Better experiences when we've sat down there to eat. Wouldn't recommend though. read more

Takes a lot for me to give 5 star on mexican food. It seems they are usually all the same. Stopped in here Friday night on our way to the mountains. They have an outdoor dog friendly patio so the pooches went along. Our servers name was Jaime. From other reviews he appears to be the restaurant rock star. He was on this occasion too! Our food came out and was delicious. Chile Relleno was crispy and the portions huge. Beer was ice cold and amazing sangria. If you are in the area, stop in. This place will not disappoint. I have eaten here now so many times over the past year that I cannot understand why I have not reviewed sooner..... I can safely say this is a great experience... everytime, friendly servers, good vibe, food at lunch is a killer deal...and big portions... Dinner is not pricy... but not cheap, I've only had the one dish (pork carnitas) each and every time @ lunch, [cus the damn dish is soooooo good] I can never pass it up on the menu, best pork I've had, love to know how they prep it... My wifey loves there red (tomato) + beer, can't remember what they call them, their mole is great and we always seem to land a booth (pure luck). Oh yeah ... they really keep their beer really cold! Once again, they raised prices significantly and never advised regular customers or their staff of the price increases. These increases/changes were not noted on the menu. For example, the house margaritas went from $6.50 to $7.99. We were shocked when we saw our bill. We have been going there for years. Staff said they raised the price for the house margs from $6.50 to $7.50 on July 3, then to $7.99 on July 5. Beware and read the menu with careful study of your bill. read more

I live close by Casa Tequilas and think that they have some of best Mexican dishes I have ever eaten! But watch your credit card! I have had a few issues using my credit card there, like giving themself a 40% tip instead of the 20% I had gave one time. I was checking my receipts yesterday to find that I had a $38 receipt, I don't drink, don't understand what happened! What a hidden gem of a place Casa Tequilas is! Went to lunch at Tequilas with a friend on Tuesday and I had the burrito combo platter. Best burrito this side of the Sonoran Desert! Truly!! I was pleasantly surprised that this tucked away neighborhood restaurant welcomes you in like you were family! I went for lunch a couple of days ago and had a good experience here! The service was prompt and the house margarita was delicious and strong! There is something to be said for a great margarita at any Mexican restaurant, and tequilas does not disappoint! The food is interesting, not bad, just interesting. I guess It was the Lima beans, peas, green beans, carrots, and celery in Spanish rice that I am just not used to.but I suppose it is just a different way of doing things! Good: not much...nice environment, nice decor, queso con chorizo. Bad: We sat down and were handed dirty menus. Being that we had out of town visitors with us, I ignored the dry, crusty salsa that looked like a large bug crashed into it at 90 mph. Next, food shows up and the ground beef in the meal tasted like lunchroom quality. Probably came out of the freezer. Our guest actually commented, "Taco Bell has better ground beef"....to which I agreed. He asked the waitress for a different entree and she got an attitude with him. I suppose it could have been a language barrier, but it didn't feel like it. He spoke clear English and I suspect Spanish is her native tongue. Nonetheless, the replacement entree never arrived.. Finally, our other guest was mid-bite into their second taco and abruptly stopped eating. Trying to be polite, he grabbed a napkin and spat his mouthful into it. When we asked what was wrong, he showed us all the 12" black hair that he'd just flossed his teeth with. At that point, everyone was done eating! We called the manager over and explained the situation in a professional manner. The manager said, "No problem, I'll see what we can do". After waiting several minutes, we casually walked to the front counter and the manager brought the adjusted ticket up. Don't get me wrong, I don't expect a free meal, but she prorated one meal based on the portion eaten. Really?! it was obvious that the hair could not have possibly been any of ours and they decided to split hairs (pun intended) on the bill?! Well, they are boycotted on our list. Came here approximately once a week for about 6 months after moving to Evergreen, decent food and experiences . Last time, my friends food was delivered with a long hair in it, of which we notified the waiter and were not charged on the check. What struck me was that neither the waiter nor the manager acknowledged or apologized for the negative experience. I asked for the manager and was very defensive and practically accused me of planting the hair in the food. I asked if he thought an apology should have been offered and he stated that he did not think an apology was needed and he said he didn't want to discuss the matter any further because he didn't want to become further angered. I told him that I came to the restaurant regularly and wasn't looking for confrontation. He told me I didn't have to keep coming if I didn't want to. Guess what, I don't, and I won't. read more

Have been a frequent visitor in the past and maybe it was just a bad night BUT not impressed. The waiter was rushing around and barely had time to stop. Maybe he was in the weeds but not an excuse. Never noticed before but saw it on the menu, first basket of chips is complimentary after a charge per basket. Always think that is tacky. I ordered the seafood burrito that was quite pricey but did not check the boxes. Skimpy on the seafood and for 17-18 bucks was hoping for more. Visited Tequila's for the first time for a weekday lunch. I had the mushrooms as an appetizer and the Burrito Agave for lunch. The mushrooms weren't breaded and deep-fried, which was nice for a change. The burrito was excellent. My husband said the Sangria was also very good. I wasn't completely wowed by the wait staff, but they weren't horrible either. The decor was of a typical Mexican restaurant chain. The only really disappointing aspect was the single-toilet bathroom with a broken and empty soap dispenser, which made me really hope the female staff have their own bathroom with a working soap dispenser. read more

Fantastic family restaurant! We are from Arizona and the food was authentic Mexican. The host was a young teenage boy that didn't know to offer crayons and coloring sheets, but when we asked they provided. The Toro (Margarita and beer) was perfect. Comfortable seating. I come here with my kids once every other week. I've easily been here a dozen times. There is good reason for this. The service is AMAZING. Our food always is delivered in less than 5 minutes. They have chips and salsa immediately, and colors for the kids. The food isn't quite as good as Papasitos or Chuhy's but hey, for Evergreen, it's pretty darned good. read more

First off they have a tremendous tequila selection and one of the most diverse margarita menus I've seen in a long time. The food menu is pages upon pages with a nice lunch section as well. Three stars because the food was just okay and the service, while personable, was still only decent. I will go back though to try some other me u items and see if there's improvement in quality and service, but in Evergreen if youre looking for tequila, this is your spot. read more

Delicious food and excellent service! I am a fan of the carne asada quesadilla and the carne asada tacos. My boyfriend loves the seafood enchiladas. Fresh chips and salsa are served with the meal. So salty I couldn't taste the pork that was sparsely spread over an enormous plate. The refried beans were salty also but tasted good as a dip for the tortilla chips... I really hoped that I was going to like Tequila's, since there aren't many Mexican restaurants in Evergreen. I went the first time, and the service was lacking, and the food was OK. I thought that maybe it was just a bad day, and I'd try again another time. A few weeks later, I tried again. I was seated, and ignored for a while. After my order was taken, and delivered, I felt ignored again..no offer of water,or another beer. The simple, basic things. Basically my 'Go-To' place for lunch since I frequent Evergreen often. Lunch special is a great deal and a generous helping of food. I have only tried the dinner menu a few times and the shrimp was extremely good. Cooked perfectly. Chips and salsa complimentary and also a 'slaw' that is a nice side to the meal. Service is friendly and food comes quickly for lunch specials. For the price, you could poison yourself at Wendy's or other fast food places, or have a nice sit down experience with a lunch that will last you for most of the day. Booths and Bar seating, sometimes they seem short-handed but manage. I have been there at football games and the bar had a nice vibe. read more
