Our favorite restaurant in three rivers when we went to the national park. The restaurant is quite smoky, so we opted to take to go and wait outside. The restaurant was packed and full of hikers, so expect to wait. Parking lot is big and there are street parking. The food was delicious!!

We had traveled several hours to get to where we were spending the night before exploring Sequoia National Park. We had seen this restaurant on our way to our AirBnB so decided to come back and give it a try. So glad we did! This is a small fun little restaurant with both indoor and outdoor seating. We chose to sit inside since it was just a little cooler. The service was amazingly friendly and took our orders efficiently and answered all of our questions. I had the taquitos while my friend had a tostada, and we washed both down with their excellent margaritas. The salsa had a little kick, and the guacamole was nice and chunky. The beef in my taquitos could've had maybe just a little more seasoning but overall I thought they were great and well-stuffed. My friend enjoyed her tostada with a side of rice and beans. I always judge Mexican restaurants on how good their rice is and this was done just right with no added vegetables the way abuelita would've made it. We definitely would come back here again. It was one of our favorite places to eat this trip!

California Burrito

Yuge portions Free chips and salsa on arrival. Excellent service. We tried the California burrito and a few of their tacos. The burrito is no joke - literally the size of my forearm. It was loaded up with rice, fries, and meat. No veggies, but whatever. Delicious but couldn't finish it. Their tacos were quite good as well - meat came hot off the grill and was tender. Overall, classic fare, great portions, reasonable price.

I had the chimichanga and my husband had the 3 item combo with tacos and a chili relleno.

The staff was very friendly. We're helped immediately. The chips and salsa were very good. I ordered the Chimichanga with shredded beef and it came with rice and beans. The shredded beef was so good and seasoned well. The beans were so good too. There was plenty of seating inside and outside.

We had great service and food for lunch. I had a steak taco and fish taco. My friend had a breakfasts burrito that was huge. They give you free chips and salsa. There is indoor and outdoor seating. Staff were friendly. One star off because it could be a bit cleaner. They have WiFi!!!

Good Mexican food, large portions and reasonable prices. The patio area is very cute with the string lights and papel picado. Recommend!

Great service, solid margs, and tasty Mexican food. Shredded chicken and carne asada are super yum.

We stopped by after a long drive and were pleasantly surprised. To start off the service was pretty fast and the staff was friendly as soon as we walked in. My sister ordered the chicken flautas, my partner got the burrito with carne asada and shrimp, I got the chimichanga and my sister's boyfriend got the shrimp enchilada. You can decide to order the dish as is or upgrade it to a combo which included the rice and beans. We also got chips and salsa while we waited and they were not stingy! Every time they noticed we were running low they would replace it. It's a cute little area and you can choose to either sit inside or outside. The food was flavorful and we all said we could come again if we ever were nearby again.

The food here was delicious! They served us chips and salsa as an appetizer. I had the chile relleno with rice and beans and devoured everything. My husband got the chile relleno burrito and loved his food as well. My son got the chicken tenders and we all got horchatas. Everything was really fresh and tasty. Service was fast and friendly.

Very filling dinner after a long day of hiking! We were sat down immediately, but it did take a while for us to get service unfortunately. They were extremely busy, which is not surprising as there were not many options for Mexican food in town. But we did sit for a long time before getting water. Once we did get a server, she was great and attentive! In terms of the food, it was very decent! My partner really enjoyed the mole on his enchiladas. I thought my chicken verde enchiladas were good as well. We also really liked the salsa, it tasted homemade and fresh. Margaritas were wine-based, of note!

Authentic Mexican food. We had the chiles rellanos, chicken enchiladas verdes and steak fajitas Sat outside in the beautiful patio and service was on point.

But there was something we had not considered, we were going to be going to a place that required us to be fresh and ready to receive the wonder of place by a lack and we only had the energy for an angry stop at a gas station. So this place I visited when I was tired and that kind of gunked up the experience. If I would have gone with more energy to fully open my eyes than this experience would have been wondrous. When I booked the reservation I did it because it was a place by a lake. I enjoy water front dining and I usually use an ocean for scenery and today I was in a place where I could use a large creek. And since I was not going with any specific expectations that lake hit me like a bucket of wow. I remember like seeing the mouth of the lake going down like actual rocks. Like I was seeing the waters that people raft on with commitment to the outdoors. It felt like I had traveled into a place where trees were purest, bird melodies were the only noise in town (besides the water running in the creek), and cabins belonged to those who called the mountains home. I was in a novel and for some reason I felt like it was written by Twain. And that is really what I can say about this place. That is mostly what I remember the beauty of the creek. I wanted to spend more time there, I could have walked it, they had like a lounge but I did not. But I do remember the forested view that went on, and the roaring, jagged leg being a central character other than that I have small things to say. I remember the salad being ok. Denise and I shared a dish, I can't remember why but we did not eat the whole thing. It was inherently bad. But this could have been an off night, or just not the dish of the place, and really you go here for the lake, and the food was great in some ways just not in this specific way. I went to this place a few weeks ago, and, if I had not make it clear I remember the experience of being with the lake. So go here for that experience and let the rest just fall into place.

There is ample parking in their lot once you arrive. The entrance and decor is BEAUTIFUL--so many lovely cultural pieces. The place is filled with the sounds of wonderful Mexican music playing in the background. The service is FANTASTIC. Our waitress was kind, quick, and very friendly. You get chips and salsa as soon as you're seated. My friend and I ordered breakfast burritos, which came with bacon, ham, cheese, egg, and potatoes. FIRE burrito! Also, they come with two salsas--one is delicious and one is SPICYYYY. Beware! Their agua fresca de pepino y limón was refreshing, their restrooms are clean, and you can even purchase other wares from their store. Overall, a GREAT choice to stop at if you're in Porterville or passing through. :)

You could tell they were made fresh, and whomever is the cook, knows how to season well. Service was on point and super attentive. They checked on me at least 4 times to make sure everything was good, which honestly made the whole experience even better. It's rare to see that kind of consistency in small local spots. The only thing I felt was missing was a more savory salsa to match those tacos. The one they gave me seemed like a salsa de chile de árbol -- spicy with good flavor, but I wished I had an extra salsa option that leaned more on the smoky or tangy side to balance out the richness of the gobernador. The place was quiet, comfortable, and relaxed -- no loud music or chaos, just a good spot to sit back and enjoy your food. Definitely worth a visit again. Next time, I might ask if they have any different salsas to try with those tacos.

Some of the best reviews were many years ago. I ordered the chile verde burrito, wet, and my girlfriend ordered the fish taco Friday special. Chile verde has different sized pork chunks in a delicious green sauce but the meat was inconsistent in size with most pieces being rock hard, or fat/gristle. No pieces were tender. Chile verde should be tender. I can make better Chile verde in an Instant Pot with pork shoulder and a jar of Herdez green salsa. I trim my meat well though. No surprises. The fish tacos were attractive. They resembled fish sticks though. They had a bread crumb coating, were cooked earlier, and reheated before putting in the taco shell. Not beer batter fried aka Baja style. The taco shells were soft yellow corn tortillas with the texture of flour tortillas. These tortillas were really good! Avocado and fresh cilantro was a nice touch. No special fish taco sauce was used, but might improve the fish sticks. Rice was a solid hit for both of us. We make it like this at home with shrimp/tomato bouillon. The beans were ok. I ended up "returning" the inedible chile verde and they dutifully replaced it with a different burrito. The service was 5/5. The place itself is clean and neat and spacious. No complaints there.

They have introduced additional entertainment options for children and expanded the menu with TV screens displaying the menu and a more contemporary design. (Negatives) The cashier station is frequently unattended, and even when it is staffed, customers often experience poor service due to the lack of respect and attention provided by the cashier. If customers request condiments such as ketchup, they must approach the front, which is barebones and lacks essential amenities. The atmosphere remains unchanged, and if customers make an error in their orders, they are refused service and instructed to repeat the order, which incurs additional charges. Furthermore, there is a noticeable lack of cleanliness, evidenced by sticky floors and a dead fly on one of the tables. The sodas taste watered down, and attempting to request a refill is met with a disapproving look from the staff. Conclusion: Super Taco retains its reputation as a popular establishment, but the quality of food is not the only factor that contributes to the overall experience. The lack of respect and the sense of uncleanliness are significant concerns that should be addressed to provide a more satisfactory dining experience.
