My hubby took me on a dinner date to Casa Madre which we're glad we went because it was their last night open before they go on their summer hiatus until August. It's a small restaurant, but beautiful and romantic inside so I recommend making a reservation if you want to eat inside during the warm Tucson weather season. They also offer a lovely outdoor patio. Rose was our lovely server and mixologist that provided excellent service. Our cocktails were outstanding . I had the Aperol Spritz and my hubby had a margarita. He also asked for a couple of gin surprise cocktails which he was pleased with. As for appetizers I had the Shrimp sauteed in butter, white wine, garlic and crushed red pepper with grilled bread and he had the Bacon Wrapped Dates. Both were delicious and flavorful. Our entrees did not disappoint. He had the ribeye and I had the tilapia. We had enough room for dessert, and being a dark chocolate lover, I chose the obvious option. Overall, we had an exceptional dining experience at this new Tucson Gem of a restaurant. We look forward to returning in the fall.

The best meal we had in Tucson. Everything here felt upgraded. The Horchata had coconut and cardamom and was incredible. The Jamaica had tart cherry. We had the Chile Relleno, and Ribeye and both were excellent. I love their unique take on everything here. It's also a beautiful, romantic, and intimate restaurant. Definitely make a reservation, there's limited seating. They have a few tables outside and a few tables inside, small but historic property. They have upgraded the inside. It's very enchanting. Parking lot nearby. Highly recommend, don't pass it up.

Casa Madre, Fantastic! You will be very happy to have the privilege to dine here. We enjoyed the bacon wrapped figs, pear walnut salad, rib eye and pan seared salmon. Generous servings each, and cooked to perfection. Rose gave us exceptional service and very knowledgeable about the menu. White linen table cloths, flowers, and very good music helped set the scene for a wonderful evening out. As others have said, "best restaurant in Tucson!" I agree! Reservations are best, but they were gracious enough to fit us in without. Don't miss the wonderful experience!

Small, quaint, and very quiet, the food here is wonderful. Elegant well prepared dishes with tons of variety and flavors that do not disappoint the taste. I have never been a fan of mint chocolate chip ice cream and this is hands down the best I've ever eaten.

This is my new spot! The service was friendly, funny and attentive! The food was AMAZING! I love the ambiance and the overall chill vibe of this place. I highly recommend here and if you go you'll not be disappointed. Just know it's very small and probably not for big parties and the food does take a little time due to a small kitchen, but worth the few extra minutes. The entire family loved this place. Plus, the drinks for the adults and nonalcoholic beverages were spot on! I highly recommend stopping here. Did I say that before because I really meant it.

Casa Madre is fantastic! I'm usually a picky eater, but enjoyed everything I ordered from their handcrafted menu. They source several ingredients from local vendors, the atmosphere is upscale without feeling snobby or unwelcoming, and the patio area is just so cute. I recommend the Agua Frescas, or upgrading them to be Adult Agua Frescas.

I loved the inside of this intimate new restaurant. I read the reviews ahead of time and was prepared for the how warm it would be inside (wore shorts), but I really hope they do something about the AC. They have a small menu (3 main entree options) which is fine but were out of the dish I came for (Tilapia) and one of their 4 cocktails (Nanas). They also brought out the main entree right after the appetizers instead of spacing the timing. We both really liked the Dirty Turnip-Tini. The Madre Margarita was interesting. The stone fruit caprese was really good as was the special appetizer of the night which was a shrimp beignet salad. We shared the ribeye and the steak was decent, just not very flavorful. I loved the roasted poblano chile scalloped potatoes it came with though. Our server was very friendly.

We went last night for dinner. The place is very cozy. The rib eye was spectacular and so were the gamas al ajillo.

The ambiance is perfect for a romantic intimate dinner as is the service. I highly recommend this as the ultimate date night spot.

View from the bar!

This place was amazing! I'm glad I made it in before they took their summer break. We sat at the bar, which was beautiful. Our cocktails were spectacular and the food delicious. Can't wait to go back when they reopen in August.

My friend took me yesterday evening for dinner here for my birthday. This restaurant was the best restaurant in Tucson that I have been to since moving here five years ago! The food was outstanding. The ambiance is excellent and the service was superb! I can't wait for my next visit to this restaurant. Thank you to all at Casa Madre for my experience! I have identical twin boys that are both outstanding Chefs so I know a lot about making food that is perfection. Magnífica!

Ribeye. It was massive. I took 2/3 home. Fantastic and enough for 2 people.

Food was fantastic. This is now my favorite restaurant in Tucson, and I have been to most of the top Tucson restaurants. You definitely need to make a reservation well in advance. Service was fantastic. Definitely a cozy restaurant with very beautiful atmosphere.

This little restaurant (8 tables for two) is in the new building in the five points. My friends and I enjoyed dinner tonight this first week Casa Madre opened. I had a delicious stone fruit burrata salad with cherry and plum and burrata cheese. So perfect for a summer starter or meal. We also tried the bacon wrapped dates, which are a sweet and savory starter, prepared perfectly. There were three non- alcoholic drinks, three alcoholic cocktails, and a selection of wines. I got the Agua Fresca of the day and added vodka, which was guava lime special. I ordered the chile relleno of Cuban black bean puree & Arroz Con Crema. Fabulous dish. The menu will be changing and rotating so please check their website because chef mentioned the pending dishes coming in a week or two. There isn't yet a marquee outside so finding the entrance might be tricky at this point, so I posted my buddy pointing to the entrance off 18th. The restaurant was warm inside , since this is a brick building in summer in Tucson. Dress for the weather as if on a patio. This fall there expects to be additional patio seating. Reservations are recommended but walk ins are welcome. I'm looking forward to returning in the days ahead. Everyone at the table had a wonderful meal tonight. Thank you chefs!

Maybe not even just…read moreTucson--this is the best of the best you can find through the entirety of Southern Arizona! These drinks are innovative, thoughtful, and aesthetically pleasing in a way that leaves you excited for more and expands one's idea of a well-made libation. Inspired by a medley of global flavors, Juniper started off as a side project from a local brewery and unexpectedly exploded into a swanky hangout with zero seats left open on weekend nights. Yes, virtually everything on the menu is gin-based. But that shouldn't scare you away! Gin is essentially a neutral spirit infused with botanicals and/or citrus, so if you had a bad experience with one brand, there will be another out there you'll fall in love with. Elliott, the General Manager of the bar, elevates the passionate curation of his menu to perfection. Here are some examples of what you might fall in love with: Balzy Maracuya: A 'maracuya' is a passion fruit beverage originating from South America. In this drink, fruity flavors are enhanced with popping boba filled with balsamic vinegar. Botanist: Upscale gin and tonic with thyme, rosemary, and star anise. Cronus Punch: Rum punch lovers will be blown away by the rare sighting of clarified gin On special ocassions, you'll find limited edition items like gin sorbet affogatos and horchata martinis. At the turn of each new year, there's a menu rotation that may sadly remove some of my faves. But here, at Juniper I can guarantee two things: Something uniquely enjoyable, and a gracious staff that will be happy to explain the intricacies of lesser-known spirits on the shelf. In 2026, I predict it will remain one of Tucson's hottest cocktail hangouts.

It's a fun and also elegant atmosphere with the zebra theme clearly exemplified across the space. I would have to say this is one of the coziest bars I've been to, the furniture and seating is really supportive of a long-term visit. There are other levels, lower and an upper level besides the main space, but be aware that if there are parties, they can typically take up different areas. Our bartender, Sarah was fantastic! The way that she handled all of the guests and the busy field was incredible, so calm and collected, and furthermore making some really incredible drinks. Heads up that the online drink menu is not the current drink menu, I couldn't remember all the names of our drinks and put those in the photo captions, so when I checked on the website, the menu was showing something different other than what I saw at the bar. Out of several places I've been to, I'd say the mixture of flavors and details in the drinks are quite unique. I'll be back for more one day

We were greeted by a giant statue of a unicorn zebra and of course took a selfie. We then went to the bar area and absolutely loved the dark speakeasy vibes. Burk, the handsome man with a shiny head, was at the bar. He handed us a drink menu that contained fun drink names like Death of a Unicorn. The drinks tasted good and had a lovely presentation. Mine even came in a zebra mug. We also learned that this bar has both an upstairs and downstairs area. We enjoyed a couple of drinks and headed home. This place left such an impression that we have been back two times since. On another occasion we had Nate the bartender. He had a lovely personality and accommodated all of the guests that came in near closing. We enjoyed Santa's Banana Hammock and Unicorn Ski Accident. I would definitely recommend this hidden gem. I look forward to seeing where this place goes. It has a ton of potential for special events with the basement area. P.s. It's also a boutique hotel. You could always book a room and enjoy dreams downstairs without having to drive

My large party also tried the popcorn, and it was a bit stale. I was saddened to see that there are no longer charcuterie boards on the menu, leaving only and truly "small bites" that don't really hit the spot. The chocolate covered pretzels were the only thing I ate, which I would order again. I really like the century room , I just hope they make revisions to the menu to really make it the whole experience!
