Usually my coworkers and I enjoy this place, today was different. My starter salad came with old lettuce cakes in ranch, my coworkers soup tasted very... off. I have been going here with my family for about 4 years now during the year and we are never left disappointed! They let you sit anywhere and they give you some tortilla chips and salsa which always comes out warm and crispy. The selection is always good and abundant. The food here is one of the better places around the area and we always choose to go here for dinner if we decide to dine out! Service is great and friendly except for some days that can be on the slow side which are particularly busy - which is to be expected - but other than that, it isn't a big deal. oh, and order the fajitas ;) read more

1. GROSS: I'm so appalled by what I just witnessed! A gal accidentally dropped her drink which was the table closest to the food pick-up window. The waitress mopped floor with not only her bare hand, but her foot too, then picked up rag and handed it to the guy behind the window. Which meant the rag went over the food plates that were on counter! I'm still in shock! Our plates were not one of those... thank goodness! 2. FOOD: Not only do you wait a long time to get served but when you do finally get it, it's cold! 3. SERVICE: The waiters and waitress did their best but seemed they just couldn't keep up. I watched the food get double stacked on counter and stay there for a long while before they were delivered. 4. Will NOT return to this place. Food was good for the price $1 taco tuesday. A little bit disappointed because they didn't have any menudo so I have to settle for the Albondigas which is also good.It was our first check in and overall food was good,Clean place, affordable price and good service. Food is really great! However the only thing I dislike is that they are unwilling to sell you a smaller portion of food. If for example I want a kids meal, they won't sell it to me because I am not a kid. They rather not sell a kids meal to an adult than make some profit. This Is my favorite place for Mexican breakfast. Huevos con chorizo is excellent, nice saltiness of the chorizo with the eggs, not mushy and herby tasting. Huevos con machaca has lots of beef, and sautéed onions n peppers. If you want American breakfast their pancakes are pretty bomb and avocado omelette is really good too. If you get here before 11 they have a $3 breakfast! Lunch specials are cheap and large. I always get a taco al carbon on the side ($2.00) ... It's huge! Loaded w meat , guac, a little lettuce and Mexican cheese. It's nice and flavorful and doesn't taste like it's been sitting out and then refried in some oil. Great food for a great price. I have been eating here for years with family members on Sunday.The food is fair to good and to be honest we generally stick with the same few items as always. The reason the two star rating is for this reason only. For whatever reason the last number of times we have been here the MUSIC IS TO LOUD! I am not trying to be petty or picky. It gets very frustrating when you spend most of your time saying WHAT? when the people are at arms length away. We have asked to have it turned down and sometimes they will do it happily and sometimes not so happily. I don't understand the reasoning for a rude attitude when your a service oriented business. Our waiter was polite and personable but we waited a long time to get any water or for our orders to be taken. The restaurant was almost completely full when we got there for lunch - perhaps they could hire more waiters at peak times. The chips and salsa were good, but that's where it stops. Guacamole was bland, the chicken taquitos had nice lean white meat but there was no flavor to it. The rice was bland, and the refríed beans were bland and watery. My experience eating Mexican food in Los Angeles for the last 40 some years is that most restaurants are average but still acceptable. A few are exceptional. Unfortunately, Casa Jimenez was well below average. Each of us left about half of our meals on our plates when we left. It was that bad. read more

After practice my ever growing and bottomless pit teenage son is definitely hungry. The all you can eat deal for $11.95 let's him eat a variety of items that he likes for a very reasonable price. You can start with a salad or cup of soup then go from there. The other day to start he ordered 3 enchiladas (1 chicken, 1 cheese and 1 beef) that comes with rice and beans. Second order he only ordered the enchiladas without rice or beans and was very satisfied. I even got the deal and got a three item plate that was delicious. I ordered a chile relleno, cheese enchildada, and the chile verde. I used the chile verde serving to mix in with bites of other two which was perfect for my taste. What to say, what to say. This place was, as my star rating indicated, just OK. Nothing too special about Casa Jimenez (come to think of it, there's not a lot of good Mexican food in Glendora). I went here with my parents and a friend and we weren't too impressed. It was pretty empty, but probably because it was a tame, sports-less, Monday night (also Valentine's day). I had the chile rellenos and I've had better. Mine came out slightly warm, not hot off the line like I'm used to. The chile was mild, just barely spicy to notice. The rice was bland and the beans were pretty typical. The tortilla chips were nice and thick and the salsa was pretty good. The margarita I had was your typical sweet and sour + tequilla mix, nothing too exciting. Overall, I'll likely go elsewhere for my Mexican food unless I'm in a bind or feeling lazy. Ordered albondigas soup for pick up and when I got to work the meatballs were undercooked (very pink/red inside). I have been here several times now. Regarding the food, its kind of mediocre, nothing special. We've tried the "all you can eat" option and found most of the items we tried to be fairly bland. I am always in search of a good chile relleno, and it isn't here. We do like the #20 shish kabob. And we love the salsa! We love it so much, we have called and ordered it for take out. But BEWARE. The salsa prices are not listed. And I was stunned to find that it was $17, for a large, ordered for pickup. Regarding the service, it's sub par. We had to ask for refills of drinks and chips. We sat unattended while watching them clean the floors and other tables, when the restaurant wasn't busy with customers (4 pm). I didn't care for the strong smell of bleach while we were eating. The staff was not friendly on all visits. Lastly, what's with the dead animals on display? The place has potential and we'll likely eat here again (that's why I gave it a 3 and not a 2), but I wouldn't reccomend the place to anyone. read more

Watch out for restaurants that don't take reservations, but wait! They selectively take reservations if they feel like it. We walked in on Mother's Day, at 4pm, when we were told that "sorry, a party of 30 called two hours ago so we can't accommodate you." Why was I not told when I called two days earlier, that if I call on the same day, and give the restaurant a heads up that we'd like to come in, they might be able to accommodate us. I like this place but today was bad. First, found out prices went up by a dollar on everything. That's not so bad. So we order the whole burrito from the lunch items instead of the chimichanga from the lunch specials. It seemed like they were really busy today. Thing is, it wasn't any busier than other days we've been in. It was a mess, though!! The dirty dish bin was sitting on the end of our usual table and no one took it away until we were halfway into the meal. Two other tables stood dirty and needing to be cleared for the entie meal. It took forever to be served everything and the bald server that is there most every day had a problem with us. He was a lot more attentive to others. Three workers in the corner, a couple up front and group of three in front booth all were taken care of a lot better than us. Had to get the salt, pepper and Tapatio from tables around us. Served us the food but with no utensils. Hello? Then, when my friend told the guy the meat from her burrito had had a LOT of fat, more so than meat, he got all pissy and told her, "Well, what do you want me to do?" in a really snotty tone. It's not my friend's fault that the cook took the easy way out making the pork that day! (I've had their pork and didn't like it, to tell the truth. That's why I've never ordered it again) For the server to get so pissy was just WRONG! You don't get in the customer's face over a burrito. Praying to God he's not our server next time. read more

Everything was extremely bland with no flavor. The beans were watery and the rice was flavorless. I ended up taking the tortilla off the flautas and just eating the chicken - because it just wasn't worth the calories. The chicken was boiled and shredded.. Again no flavor.
