I tried the street taco plate and my boyfriend ordered the chicken quesadilla plate. Let me just say, WOW. That chicken quesadilla was probably the best I've had outside of Puerto Vallarta! Came here for breakfast on a Sunday and it was not busy at all. My husband and I both got the chilaquiles and were blown away! He got the spicy salsa verde with chorizo and eggs and I got the ranchero with fajita beef. Both were served with a side of beans. They were the perfect portion and both of us cleaned our plates. Food is decent but definitely not for the price. Very small portions and the service isn't as great. We asked for chips to finished our queso/blanco and you charged us $2 for a small handful(5piece of chips). We then asked for a to-go box as we can not finish the queso due to lack of chips. You gave us a small cup and won't give us one medium cup. You even made your daughter go check how much queso we had left. That's really stingy of you for a 10c container. To the daughter that is serving, keep up the great work. The owner mom... learn some etiquette. Dislikes: The tostadas-bland and the meat was mushy Side portion of beans and rice-very small Only two salsas-Venus location had four different salsas Dessert case-it's only a cake stand, Venus location had a whole case full of breads, cookies and pastries Dirty tables-sticky and food everywhere and no customers in the restaurant, so why were the tables so dirty?! I usually love coming here until today. The cashier went to the back he did have gloves but noticed he touched his phone then went to touch our food. The cook was touching/ itching his ear while placing the tortillas on the comal we were about to consume he had on one glove and the other no glove. The first thing that I ask at a new Mexican restaurant is, "Do you make the tamales HERE?". Yes, they make their own tamales here at Casa Jacaranda. This place is a wonderful change from typical Tex-Mex. The flavors are much more subtle, leaning more towards rich Mexican food than spicy Tex-Mex. My wife ordered the Chili Relleno (beef) with queso blanco, and I ordered the tamales with queso blanco. The cheese sauce was rich without being overpowering and was a great complement to both of our meals. The rice wasn't the tomato-rich type that you typically get with a local Mexican restaurant. The beans were smooth and creamy. Both were delicious. We got exactly one bowl of chips (with some EXCELLENT green and red salsas). The reason that I point that out is that it's usually the bottomless chips and salsa that puts me over the top when I go out for Mexican; when I'm done eating I'm just absolutely miserable. I meet a group of friends for lunch here. I was a little hesitant about the location because the last time I ate here I left still hungry. I am a big guy 6' 2" and 225 lbs. and burn alot of calories at work. Small portions just don't work for me. I wouldn't mind paying a little more for a man sized meal. Maybe offer another taco and a full portion of rice and beans. I ordered the street tacos and they are the best! Rice and beans are great too! The tiny tiny bowl of beans just cracks me up at the same time pissing me off. The chips and salsa I did not order this time because last time I received a thimble sized salsa. Fresca was cold this time but not ice cold. Plate sizes are so small compared to most other restaurants, but they are pretty. I love the flavors of the food here and was served hot. I polished off my plate and I left hungry. The food is so good! Just not a place for big construction working guys. read more

A Tasty edition added to Mansfield! The atmosphere has a taqueria style and limits to 42 people. While waiting, I did notice a steady flow of people coming in and tends to get full quickly. I ordered the street taco plate and it did not disappoint. The barbacoa was full of flavorful and juicy. The fajita tacos were tasty and bite size packed with lots of flavor. This is my new spot! I love Mexican food and different types of dishes, however, I believe a Mexican restaurant's food can be best judged by the nachos - you get a little taste of everything and it shows how much is truly homemade, i.e., homemade chips, flavor of meat, quality of cheese and veggies, etc. Anyway, this place checks all the boxes. We are from out of town and ate here based upon the reviews and 4-5 star rating, but ended up very disappointed. We had chips and salsa, chili rellano, enchiladas, and tostadas. I asked for a hot and mild salsa with the chips. Both salsas were very mild and bland - no flavor. I asked for salsa verde (hot) on my chicken enchiladas which was also very bland with zero heat. The rice was just ok. We thought the food was bland as far as Mexican food goes. If I were a local, I most likely wouldn't return based upon the food. Plate appearance was a 10/10. The dining area could have been cleaner - it needs a good degreasing. Your feet stuck to floor at the counter where you order your food, the chair had dried food on it, and everything seemed very greasy. Cute decor and the staff was very sweet. read more

I am so glad this place opened up not too long ago. There are only a few good Mexican food joints in Mansfield and this is definitely one of them. All of the food is authentic and always fresh. My go to is the taco plate. That barbacoa taco is to die for. It is also not overly greasy either without sacrificing taste. My coworker (who is actually from Mexico) always raves about their el huarache plate and always wants to come back for it. I haven't tried it yet because the tacos are so good, but maybe I'll try it next time. They also have homemade salsas and an extraaaaa spicy one if you are into that (upon request). The rice is so dang good, you can still taste the fresh tomatoes (and spices?) they use to make it. You can easily get full (or too full) for under $10 because their plates are a good price point and comes with complimentary chips and salsas. read more

We came here on a whim but were able to enjoy a nice lunch. Service is quick, looks like a family run business and everyone seemed so nice. The food was great! They had an extensive menu but because we showed up near closing time, we didn't get to browse completely. We have a dairy allergies and it seems very easy to be able to customize your meal to have it without cheese or sour cream, they also have vegan options.
