35 years and still taste delicious!!! I used to go to the Casa Gamino in Westminster. Sadly it closed many years ago. I always craved their albondigas. It's the best! So I see they have one in Paramount. I looked at the menu to specifically look for their Mexican Pizza. Because if they had that then I knew this was the same Casa. Sure enough it's on the menu! I went today for the first time. Upon being sweated I did ask if these were the same owners as the one in Westminster, and it was!!! Of course I ordered a cup of soup, the still serve their drinks with the little crunchy ice, and I ordered their chimichanga because it was my favorite. Let me tell you that EVERYTHING tasted the same!!! Even down to their awesome chips and salsa! If you haven't been and want good ol fashion Mexican food go to Casa Gamino! read more

This is my 3rd time coming here the second time was about 8 months ago and 1st time was pre covid. Both times were decent so I decided to give it one last shot before I officially scratch them out of my list. As soon as you walk in the place looks old and dark, no windows and you feel trapped (claustrophobic) you get a hint of a weird smell. Might be cleaning product but it definitely lingers. I took my mom and I could tell she wasn't comfortable but I told her to just give it a shot. We decided to share the combo fajitas the serving was a good size the chicken was good and well seasoned but the beef was really chewy and dry. The shrimp well there was only like 3 or 4 sadly. But a bunch of onions and peppers. The veggies were good just wished it had more protein. The rice was well cooked and seasoned and the beans were good as well. I did like that they bring chips and salsa. All in all I would rate it a 4 out of 10 read more

If you grew up in Paramount, this restaurant is as much as staple as Tam's. They have been around for years and I truly believe that it's the Paramount natives with memories of their childhood that keep this place in business. The food is ok and the ambiance is what you expect of a stereotypical Mexican restaurant in the 80s and 90s. This is what my friends and I call "Americanized Mexican Food." However, we are avid customers because of their great tasting margaritas! Makes it great for a girl's night out. Food prices are average and service is fast, however, at times you might feel rushed to leave. The blended mango margaritas with chamoy are the best and our go-to dish is the carne asada wet burrito with red and green sauce- truly the best dish there! read more

My visit here was .... Good there is a nice parking lot in the back so that's awesome. It has a very old school home style restaurant feel and it was warm inside, which was perfect because it's chilly in LA. We were seated right away and we received chips and salsa, the salsa is super yummy. No spice really but flavorful and fresh the chips were equally good. The Asada quesadilla was bomb.com definitely getting that again, the cheese pull was out of this world. To top it off the margaritas were good! But honestly after that is where the minus one star comes in the the wet burrito and enchiladas left much to be desired and we're just ok. Also the service was spotty I still don't know who our waiter was the one that bought the chips wasn't the one that took our order, no one introduced them selves we got a new person each time and it was a while in between before we got checked on. Food was a tad under par but not terrible. Service was okay but my issue was that they stuck us in the corner next to the loudest group of people ever. I guess you can say I am currently stuck in a bit of a rut when it comes to quality food joints. This Casa Gamino location is one I have been visiting off and on for many years but the quality of both the food and service has drastically gone downhill and was almost non-existent during my most recent visit. While helping my mom move and looking for a place to eat, it was my idea to come here for a tasty bite to eat. For a Friday night at 6:00 the we had no trouble finding seating and were quickly given menus to look over. It took around 5 minutes or so for our waiter for the night to come to the table to take the drink orders and drop off the chips and salsa which was a bit slow but gave us more than enough time to look over the menu (which seems to have changed since my last visit). My mom wanted chicken enchiladas which were nowhere to be found on the menu but when asked was told they had them and she put in her order. I quickly followed with a wet chicken, rice and bean burrito with red sauce as well as a half an half order of rice and beans on the side. The food was very slow to come out of the kitchen and was brought out by a different gentleman than our server. In all it probably took close to 15-20 for the food to come out which allowed me time to watch the Dodgers choke away a 6-1 lead in the Playoffs...ugh. The chicken enchiladas looked very bland in their appearance and presentation as based off my moms review of the food it was just as bland to the taste. She quickly poured the salsa from the chips over the rice and enchiladas in hopes of salvaging the dish but nothing seemed to help. The burrito I received was far smaller than most places and definitely smaller than I remember from previous visits. I was also dismayed when I cut into the burrito to see it was simply a tortilla filled with chicken, no rice or beans or cheese in sight other than the red sauce on top (which barely covered the top). I took a couple bites hoping to find the missing ingredients within but to no avail. Our server did not check on the service, never offered refills until nearly 20-30 minutes into the meal after we were basically done. Casa Gamino used to have a manager go table to table to check on your service but none of that happened on this day. To make matters worse about halfway through the burrito I bit into a piece of chicken that was very bitter and discolored. I took a bite from the opposite side and the same thing, the chicken appeared to have gone bad. The prices have gone up, the portions were smaller, the service was non-existent and the food was flavorless and bland throughout. The bad chicken was the icing on the proverbial cake that has ruined the place for me going forward. All the good memories I had of Casa Gamino are now gone and I more than likely will never return. read more

They get a 5 star cause I've been coming here for years. I love their food, i love the music, i love the ambience they create. The prices have went up a little, but still affordable, the amount of food they give you is more than enough. When I say when up that's with like 10 years lol. So they deserved to raise their prices a little . I really wish they started using Postmates, grub hub, or Uber eats cause I would love to have the food delivered, especially with these times. Although when you do order a pick up order, they have it ready in under 20mins. Almost every time. I love the albóndigas soup, it's actually one of my favs along with the 2 enchiladas plate and their casa gamino appetizer this place will always have a place I'm my heart and I will always come back here when I wanna get some good authentic Mexican food in the area. I went to this place on May 20 based of the high recommendations here on Yelp. I was terribly disappointed. Our waiter was a hustler who wouldn't take no for an answer when I asked for just the a la carte green burrito and he insisted that I add rice and beans for a substantial markup (makes it a full "dinner" even though the burrito itself is very large). The burrito was very boring because there was nothing "green" about it such as green chilis or green salsa to give it flavor. The burrito was just a lot of meat and onions inside the tortilla, basically not as described and somewhat flavorless. I also found that the one thing, the chips and salsa, which always seem to predict for me what to expect from a new Mexican restaurant were somewhat disappointing here as well. The salsa was fresh and very tasty, but was so watery that you couldn't put any on a chip without it instantly running off. I have never understood just why some restaurants do this or, for that matter, why customers put up with it. read more

First time here with my family. It's close to my cousin's house and they come here often. The food was really fresh and absolutely loved the albondigas soup. Really good flavor, although it could have used some potatoes and carrots - the way my mom makes it. Anyway, highly recommend for that Mexican comfort food, not absolutely authentic is what I am told but good enough for me and my pocha-ness. The staff is also excellent, really good service and the food is delivered with the usual " hot plate" warning often heard when a plate of yummy Mexican food arrives with that gorgeous melted cheese on top of the refried beans. I had the carne asada street tacos and they were really good, plenty of meat and you get 3 with rice and beans for about $10. All I can say is my kids cleaned their plates. read more

When I first moved back to this area, this Casa Gamino was my Mexican restaurant of choice. I even had my birthday dinner with family and our significant others here right before the shutdown in 2020. I like the comfy booths, decor, and those margaritas. I was in the neighborhood (at Grocery Outlet, where I should have just grabbed Amy's frozen enchiladas for $5.49--yes, I sat in the car for a bit and texted and returned a call), and swung by Casa Gamino at 10:31. I was told I could only order takeout (just me eating tonight) because the kitchen closed at 10:30. Okay, that seemed a little much considering they are open until 11 *while looking around at the number of people, even at the bar*, but I ordered my enchiladas to go. At 10:45, several entrees were run to a party of at least nine. I asked the server if I could eat my takeout there, and was seated. The party got more entrees after that. At 10:55, the table next to me got their entrees. Meanwhile, I was about done with my enchiladas in their takeout container. Unfortunately the enchiladas weren't hot and the cheese inside wasn't even entirely melted. The beans were good, chips and salsa okay (their salsa is not anywhere nearly as spicy as I like, but it still has good flavor). I got the albondigas to go. My mom always gets excited about albondigas so she always liked coming here and appreciated that it was included with the entree. I waited to hand the tip to my server (who basically only brought me water) and walked out about 11:11. Nobody else appeared to be leaving soon. Obviously they have enough business and don't need mine. I love Rivera's in Long Beach, and tonight I might have just as easily gotten tacos from the 600 Tacos truck and eaten them in the car. I was starving and wanted to sit down for a few minutes. If you have suggestions for late night Mexican, I'd love them. There is always great Mexican open late in Hollywood, and there was a great spot in Bell, but sadly the last I looked, it's gone and the building is listed on Loopnet. read more

My friends and I decided to meet up for lunch on 10-30-20 at about 1pm. The place was nice and cozy. You needed to walk through to go to the back to get seated outside. The place was nice and clean and everyone seemed friendly. We were seated and the waiter came and greeted us and took our order. He brought our drinks pretty fast. Roberto the waiter was pleasant. This place is VERY good you get a ton of food for a good price. We were served chips and salsa right away and got our drinks fast. We were served our meal within 15 mins.The albondigas soup was really good we also had the topo nachos and the plate was huge and the price was great. All of the servers were very nice and welcoming and came back with whatever we asked for right away. We got to sit inside at the booths and the restaurant was very clean and welcoming inside. A plus was the dodger game was playing and they gave us to go cups with a full refill in it. Came here last night for dinner and really enjoyed it. First off, I had a lime margarita and it was one of the best margaritas ive had in so cal. For dinner I had the Chicken Enchiladas Suiza with rice and beans, and boy oh boy was I more than satisfied. Everything was seasoned so well, especially the chicken. Sometimes Mexican restaurants seem to skimp on seasoning the filling of an enchilada and rely too much on the sauce, but this was a great. Had a little spice. Also the beans were really good. Pretty good Mexican food, well at least the meal I ordered. I had the fish tacos (it comes with 3 tacos), rice and beans and Agave Fresca (skinny margarita). I've had skinny margaritas before that wasn't all that great. But this one was and pretty strong. Now y'all know I live for some chips and salsa (one of the highlights of dining at Mexican restaurants). Yes, to the chips and salsa here. I can see myself coming here again. What will let me know if this restaurant is super legit is the if their cadillac margaritas a good. So I will be trying that next time. read more
