TLDR; highlights - rotisserie chicken - dessert menu - limoncello - fresh seafood This was my first time visiting Casa, and as an Italian American raised around traditional foods, I *need* to go back. The first step through the door felt like Thanksgiving to me.. the low hum of chatter as families talked amongst each other, clinking of glasses as people said 'cheers!' and the immediate sight and scent of home-cooked food. Their slow-roasting rotisserie chicken filled the air as we were being sat and seeing them turn over and over in the open ovens had me drooling before I could even ask for water. Because we're in a landlocked state, I always order seafood whenever I catch it on the menu.. but choosing the Fettucine Tutto Mare instead of the Rotisserie Chicken entree has now filled me with a severe case of FOMO. I was impressed with how fresh the crabmeat, mussels and clams were in my dish and it reminded me of my late uncle (who would always demand we go to a restaurant with clam linguine). Paired with the Limoncello Spritzer, it truly felt like I was back home with my family. The dessert menu was filled with a lot of my personal favorites, like tiramisu, but I was too full to order any (which, truthfully, isn't a bad problem to have). This was probably the worst fettuccine Alfredo that I ever had. The noodles were so overcooked they were mushy and the sauce was tasteless, but very greasy. The chicken had no seasoning whatsoever. Two stars because the breadsticks are fantastic. The cheese dip had a skin on it like it had been sitting for a while. Sad to see a local favorite go downhill like that. read more

My server Michael was incredibly attentive and not only well versed on the menu but when I asked his opinion he helped me order a pizza I loved! Food was good today, but the dining area was miserably cold. All of the tables in our section were commenting and complaining. I finally asked the waitress if she would have the ceiling fan turned down as it was blowing on their customers, making the experience very poor. First I was told it needed to be on because of the wood oven. (Maybe it would have been comfortable with a little heat from the oven.) I asked a second time and she came back and said no, it was on a timer and couldn't be changed. Clearly not true, as it had a pull chain to change the speed or turn off. My advise, take your sweater or jacket and eat fast before your meal gets cold. read more

Not impressed. Used to be very good food - not so much anymore. Have tried several times in recent months only to be disappointed - i.e., fettuccine Alfredo-thickened w/flour rather than traditional cheese; bruschetta-bland tasting with toppings on the side; bread-tasteless not crusty as real Italian bread should be. Celebrated my daughter's first day of school tonight. We had a wonderful greeting and waitress. This is my first time eating at casas since i discovered my gluten intolerance and let me tell you i wouldn't have known my food was even gluten free. The best so far that actually tastes like the real thing. The only thing I miss is eating the bread, but I heard a rumor they have a flat bread stick for gluten free customers. It's not on the menu and seemed to be a gluten free pizza crust texture. It was worth every penny. They seasoned it well and had cheese on it. I was so impressed. I even got the gluten free chocolate cheesecake to go. I'm not kidding you this is one of the best gluten free restaurant experiences I have had! Thank you!! read more

Horrible experience at Casa on Stellhorn today!! Our water tasted like MOLD!! When I asked for pops instead at no charge, the server said, "I'll see what I can do," instead of just willingly taking care of it. Then there were fruit flies EVERYWHERE around our table!! Our carbonara and bolognese were sub-par....I can make these better at home!!! And our crab lasagna rolls weren't even finished because we didn't like them!! Jessica was our server on Saturday, May 1st. It was super busy with lots of families with large parties. Jessica did a fantastic job being quick and efficient. A big plus for us was that our wAter glasses were never empty. Empty plates were bussed promptly, food was hot and flavorful. She even boxed up our leftovers. In town visiting friends who visit this joint nearly weekly, so I gave it a try! I had the Tutti pizza, and the ingredients and flavors were good. Well seasoned sausage, pepperoni, and thinly sliced mushrooms covered in melted cheese. My problem lies in the presentation which was to the detriment of the crust. It was served on a plate which allowed the crust to become soggy from the first bite. By the time I got to the second half of the pizza it was a gummy mess. Prices were in line with expectations but the restaurant was uncomfortably cold, to the point that the servers were standing around the pizza oven to get warmed up. The last 2 carry out orders we have gotten from Casas (Stellhorn Rd) we have had to throw out more than we could eat. What is happening to Casas?? It used to be our favorite go-to?! First of all the portions in carry out always seem to be smaller than in the restaurant but they are priced the same. There was very little sauce on the Bolognese, the seafood in the Linguine Tutto Mare was exceptionally sparse, the 2 salads were SO soggy (dressing was already mixed in which it shouldn't have been) and the lettuce was all of the white stems almost NO visible green in them at all. The gluten free pasta is awful! There are several choices of decent gf pastas these days and Casa still doesn't have them. It is dry and very much like cardboard. The only redeeming item from our order was the chocolate layer cake. Thank heavens they still have that and haven't changed it or cut the size. These jokers will get your pasta out to you on the double, through delivery services. These guys make a good pasta, good lasagna , good meatballs and such. Salads aren't what they use to be however. The dishes are decent though. Good old lasagna , them scallops are good too! pasta and seafood lovers platter! Get it sent out to you! get your grub on right? salad not as good, but the dishes are decent enough. About like they always been, pretty much for the most part. These jokers good though. This is local, and one of my favorite Italian places (I don't generally eat Italian). Ive been coming to the Casa's since I was young, but it seems to have declined over the years. It's still decent, but not something I would brag about to my non-Fort Wayne family. I just changed my review, so if you saw the previous one, know this is based off my current experience (the previous was based off past experiences prior to this one). Their garlic knots are still great. They don't have their infused olive oil at this time, and I think they changed their spinach lasagna recipe (seems almost cream cheese based). So when I come home to Fort Wayne, there are only two restaurants I have to visit-besides getting my fat kid on at Waynedale Bakery- I need me a coney dog from Coney Island and a good hearty Casa dinner. The two Casa Grilles are probably the best two. This location is close to home and it's great. The parking is convenient, and the waiting room is comfortable. The bathrooms feel like there should be an attendant in them. We were seated quickly and the waitress got our drink order right away. We started with the Antipasto Misto and bread with oil and cheese (mix the oil and cheese with salt and pepper and dip the bread generously!). The appetizer plate was packed with breadsticks, cheese sticks, toasted ravioli and eggplant sticks. All are sooooo delicious. I ordered my all time favorite-Mostacioli Al Forno and it was just how I remembered it . The meat sauce is rich and the ricotta mixed in is out of this world. The fresh grated Parmesan is perfect to sprinkle in and it's my favorite (the flavor is different than any I can acquire at home). I can't wait to come back already! read more

Yikes! What is the hype with this place? I ordered fish and it was SWIMMING in a lemon "sauce" that was more like congealed curd. The veggies were tasteless and I am 99% sure they microwaved the whole plate before they brought it out. Don't know why their kitchen crew is so expansive if that's the extent of their culinary skills? The house salad everyone raves about was pre mixed with their house dressing. I understand this saves time, but the croutons were soggy and the entire salad was clearly not fresh. Maybe made the same day, sure, but not within the last hour. I know restaurants with far lesser reputations that cut corners in a more practical way. You couldn't pay me to return. Crossing all restaurants with the word "casa" in the name, because if I want to eat at a house, I'll stay at my own. read more

Okay so here goes. Our party was seated and of course the table was dirty and then was cleaned off in the covid-19 era I expected a little better customer service however not a problem. Now the food yes was good not the greatest I've had they're not the worst. Thus a three star rating. Service was a little better and overall that came in I would have to say on a 5 star. The bill as always there's always for me a good deal it's not bad priced. But between the three right there you got a one a three and a five that to me equated a 3. The Casa restaurants are a mainstay in Fort Wayne, and some of them feature wood-fired pizza ovens. My favorite item is the Tutti pizza, which is a delightful sausage & mushroom with a Napoletana-style crust. House salad was OK, and the pizza was very good. However, they offer a wine spritzer as their special on Wednesday, and it is nothing more than a fruity wine. The bottle couldn't cost 3 dollars and the drink had no club soda or anything else in it. Good place for food but the drinks are suspect. read more

Casa Grille on Stellhorn road is a great place to get some Italian in a sit down environment. Casa salad is a legend in its own right and should accompany any meal. Service here is always good, the restaurant is large so generally the wait is short or not at all. Getting bread with Parmesan and olive oil is truly a Fort Wayne tradition. Anyone that's lived here for any period of time has likely dined at one of the casas locations and experienced casa bread this way. What I do want to point out is that casa also has wood fired pizza, and it's pretty good. If you're visiting or new to the area, check them out. It'll be a good experience. read more

This location has really gone downhill. I'm usually not too disappointed with the others I go to, but Stellhorn is the worst. This review is based on the last 3 times visiting this location. I'll just start out with - my family has been coming here since the very beginning. So, my grandparents are from Sicily and Northern Italy, and I grew up learning how to cook great Italian food. Just like in America, families cook food differently, depending on area and family preferences. So, I know one dish will taste different at different homes. And, I've had amazing Italian food all around my family & friends, and around the U.S. Casa D'Angelo's used to be excellent Italian food. Every dish was authentic and so flavorful. Years go by, ownership changes a bit, management changes, and brings us here. Casa Grille (as it's now known) is terrible Italian food. They advertised in the past that they send their chefs to Italy to learn different cuisines. But, honestly, everything at Casa's now tastes like a dish that McDonalds could serve. Their house salad that was once the talk of Fort Wayne, is now trash. It was obvious that it was made hours before - very wilted and just had a "leftover" taste to it. Not fresh. But, the main thing - they had to have changed either their recipe or the types of ingredients used, because it isn't as good as it used to be. We also ordered the eggplant parmesan, with marinara. Casa's marinara now simply tastes like tomato sauce and a boatload of sugar - basically ketchup. Not enjoyable. The pizza was brought to us cold. The lasagna - again, very weak and sugary marinara sauce. 2 of us that got it needed extra parmesan to help with the flavor. The bread is not the same as it used to be. Italian bread should have a little crisp to the crust. These new rolls they gave us were like sandwich buns. Not real Italian bread. Honestly, this is not a good Italian restaurant! The only reason it's still popular is very little competition. I'm very happy that I can cook - and I have cooked for friends who loved my sauce and joked that I should go teach Casa's how to do it. Nah. Fk 'em. They can keep making their ketchup spaghetti. I'll stay home when I want the real deal. read more

Went here for our anniversary. The decor inside felt dated and dark. It could definitely use some brightness in the dining area. There was a bucket on the floor beside our table that was there under a leak in the ceiling. But on to the food... I ordered the Lasagne Carne Amante. It was great! My wife ordered a seafood pasta dish with butter sauce and she loved it. Which is great cause usually she comes away disappointed with a lot of seafood dishes at other restaurants. We also ordered toasted raviolis for an appetizer, and those were delicious. So.... food was awesome! Atmosphere could use some help. read more

This was NOT good. We both had Spaghetti and meatballs for lunch with a side salad. The side salad had nothing in it but lettuce and greasy croutons. The spaghetti was luke warm the meat ball tasted like card board and a jar of Ragu would taste better as far as the sauce. My Aunt lives in Ft Wayne has gone to this location many times after today she will never go again. I'm an infrequent out-of-town visitor to Fort Wayne, but had heard good things about the local Casa chain. I had been inside previously to pick up some catering orders and found the decor and atmosphere to be inviting. I just ate my first and only meal at Casa Grille and was less than pleased. I ordered a bottle of Sangiovese only to have a Merlot sent to the table. I ordered the grilled pork chops and mushroom risotto. The risotto was pretty flavorful, but a little dry, which unfortunately matched the doneness of the pork. The pork was not medium, but dry and there wasn't enough pan gravy to make it palatable. The portions were good for the price, but I couldn't finish the second chop because it was so dry. The pasta dishes ordered by other members of my party were lukewarm when they arrived at the table. The restaurant was crowded when we arrived, but there were only 4 tables seated when our food arrived, so I wouldn't expect the kitchen to have problems with timing. Stopped here for a meal before a show at the Clyde Theater on Oct 1. The place was not busy but our waitress tok over twenty minutes to take our order, waiting on other tables before getting our complete order. She came to the table five times and we finally said we are ready as she kept leaving to wait on other patrons. My fiend ordered the house salad, which when presented was soggy with so much dressing it could not be eaten. We flagged down the waitress who did bring another and said the dressing was watered down. the second sald was equally as soggy and inedible. The main courses were fine but lackluster in taste and appearance. I have eaten at the other CASA retaurants in Fort Wayne and this one was by far the worst experience I had had there. Food is always really good! I would love to change my 4 to a 5. Stop using plastic straws and plastic take home bags. Switch to paper. I understand styrofoam hasn't been banned in Indiana but it doesn't change the fact that it's horrible for our environment. Would love to see you using a better alternative. read more
