Everything, service is excellent, food is great, and the prices are very reasonable considering the quality.

First time dining here and was excited to try it. I ordered a plate that had a chili relleno, taco, enchilada, with charro beans and potatoes. The chili relleno was so spicy I could only take that one bite. I can handle a little spice but not too spicy. The person I was with who can tolerate way Spicer than I can, could not eat there's either. The potatoes tasted like frozen fries chopped up. They were horrible. Taco was decent as was the enchilada. I might give it one more try without the relleno and potatoes. The service was decent. read more

Headed out of Slaton and needed to take my lunch break, saw Miguel's and decided to give them a try. Reasonable prices, especially the lunch specials. Fresh and hot chips with good salsa. Decent enchiladas, everything was hot on the plate. read more

I had to stay over in Slaton for one night and decided to try the local Mexican restaurant. Perfect example of do not let the exterior looks influence your choice to give it a try. Instead it was inviting and that it was authentic food. Staff was very welcoming and quick to wait on you service was quick and attentive. The fresh chips and salsa were great. Portions were large, food was fresh and extremely tasty. If you happen to pass through this town give them a try well worth it. read more

The family went to Casa de Miguel to celebrate mom-in-laws birthday. It's been several years since our last visit. The service was fast and the chips plentiful. We ordered a pretty good variety of food; the flour enchiladas, taco salad, flautas, and the Coloso plate (taco, enchilada, and carne guisada). Nobody had any complaints (though mom did need some sour cream for the flour enchiladas) and everyone was full - the charro beans are delicious! The dining area wasn't too bright or too dim and the music seemed to be a late 2000's pop mix. The receipt was a bit of a surprise, they charged extra for beef enchiladas on the Coloso plate, charged extra for the sour cream, and charged extra for using a credit card. Overall it was a good experience and certainly better than the fast food chains in Slaton. read more

We stopped in needing something quick on the way through town. This place is great! Food was awesome. Queso was very flavorful, not bland. Sweet tea was good. The service was quick and everyone was nice. Don't let the outside of the building fool you, the inside is colorful and clean. Will definitely be back. read more

For a small town this place is good. The salsa is spicy but I personally like it. You can ask for green salsa that's spicier too. I got the sour cream enchiladas. I really liked their sour cream sauce. I would come back here. read more

I had a friend in town and needed to take him someplace close. He tried the Carne Asada and said it was fantastic. The guacamole was fresh and spinach enchiladas with sour cream sauce is my favorite. They also have a full bar and great service read more

We were a large group of 16 that had excellent service from the only waiter in the restaurant! The food came in a timely manner, and the order was completely accurate! The food was delicious, and the SEPARATE checks were handled with efficiency! What a great place to choose for our lunch! read more

We've been out here twice but have only been able to eat once. The other day we came for lunch and the food was awesome. Our server was friendly and our drinks were never empty which is a big plus. We went back tonight, walked in at 7:45, and were told they couldn't seat us because they close at 8:00 on Saturday. No problem, we'll go somewhere else. We then looked at the hours on the door which said open until 9:00. As we're backing out of the parking lot I looked at the led sign out front and it says open Monday-Saturday 7:30 am to 9:00 pm. So which is it? Do you close at 8:00 or 9:00 on Saturday? Or did you just not want seat another table, even thought there was only 3 of us and you weren't busy? The food is worth coming out to Slaton but we won't be doing it again. read more

I love the sour cream enchiladas. The service is always quick and they are always smiling. Keep up the good work

This is our 2nd visit. First trip- 7:30 on the Fourth of July. We were supposed to eat burgers in the Canyon but they ran out of food. As a result we ran over to Slaton to eat. I think a lot of other neighbors went there also. So, we had a 20 minute wait to start with. It was a slow wait for a table, to get waited on and to get the meal. About an hour total. Due to the timing, we figured it was just the situation. Enchiladas we're ok. Chile relleno was sliced open and fried in batter with cheese. I didn't care for it. Tacos were ok. Second trip- a Thursday night. No wait and food came in fast. This time was just the 2 of us. We took beef fajitas. Lots of food and we brought some home. The chips and salsa are great. The fajitas had no real fajitas flavor. I brought the leftovers home and seasoned them up and they tasted better. 2 teas, fajitas for 2 with rice & beans were $30. For me, it just doesn't hit the mark for Tex-Mex. My wife liked it better than I did so different tastes for different folks. read more

Had a margarita with our meal, it had no salt on the rim and an orange, lime slice, and a cherry. Tasted nothing like a margarita.

The chips were excellent and we had two salsa options. Both salsas were good. Tasty food but sooo greasy. Draining the grease ftom the taco meat wouldn't hurt. The quesadilla and flautas on Tomas Sampler were d e l i c i o u s! read more

I'd give it 4.5 stars if I could. We came across this place on our way to Lubbock because we were hungry; about to turn around and head on to Lubbock when we saw Casa de Miguel, it looked interesting so we stopped....glad we did! Service was good, friendly and quick; we were there at noon on a Saturday. We really liked our food; only thing that was not up to par was the beef taco meat was a little dry. But, I put queso on mine and it was fine. Now, the cheese enchiladas are the BEST!! I love it when the cheese starts to ooze out after I cut the enchilada; this type of enchilada is very hard to find. The rice was like the kind my Mexican friend in El Campo makes so I loved it; love the hint of cumin in my rice. My aunt had the chili relleno with queso and loved it. We also had queso and quacamole; really liked them too. People next to us got what appeared to be an appetizer platter...may have to check this out the next time we go! The place is in an old building but it was clean; I was impressed on how clean the restrooms were also. For me, this says a lot about a restaurant. Would we go back...definitely YES! I believe it just may have been an off day for the tacos so I will try them again. But, a cheese enchilada plate would be my top choice most definitely!! Thankfully, my grandson is a freshman at Texas Tech so I'll get to eat at Casa de Miguel for a few years! If he were not at Tech, it would be difficult to dine there because it is a bit of a drive from Austin, TX. read more

This is my favorite Mexican food place-ever. It is a little pricey but haven't you heard you get what you pay for? Even my kids love it! We always start with chips and queso! So divine! Oh, the Coke is the best of anywhere- weird- but it's perfect! My husband loves the beef enchiladas and I loved the chicken fajitas and the sour cream chicken enchiladas! Really nice, fun atmosphere as well! We travel about 40 miles round trip just to eat here! read more

Bad, bad, bad. We have eaten at Casa De Miguels many times. It used to be our go to place. But....we called in for take out and it was far from good. We ordered for 4 but what we received was questionable. My husband's burrito was good but he was charged extra for queso instead of gravy. My son ordered Tres Amigos with sour cream on the chicken enchilada, he got 3 chicken enchiladas. Yes, they had sour cream but not what he ordered. My brother-in-law ordered the 3 enchiladas with rice with charro beans. He got 3 enchiladas with beans and no rice and a side order of charro beans, which we were charged for. I ordered the Chasity's Favorite and got a container of melted cheese with a couple of shrimp in it. I also got side orders which I was charged for that I thought came with the plate, 1 enchilada, salad, and beans. When I called back, I was told I could bring it all back and exchange for what I ordered. Really, how many people want to drive back and wait for the correct order??? It should have been correct to begin with. I was also told I had an old menu and that is why I got cheese and shrimp instead of enchiladas. I should look on line for the correct menu. I did that this morning and did not find a menu anywhere that I could order from not even the facebook page. A couple of pictures of menu is all I found. Why change the plate that is Chasity's Favorite for something else entirely??? Can you not think of another name for cheese and shrimp. Also, the $7 queso was Velveeta. I don't think we will do this again. What should have been about $40. cost $58 and most of it was tossed. read more

Great Mexican food under $10 per entree. This is no " On the Border" Mexican food. This is the real deal. They serve carnitas and bbq (not meat slathered in bbq sauce). One thing I do not like, although my family does, are the cheese enchiladas. There cheese enchiladas are made with what they serve as queso (yes I do know queso is cheese in Spanish). I love queso but I like real cheese in my cheese enchiladas not a cheese sauce. Everything else is pretty spot on. This is fairly authentic Tex-Mex food. read more
