Rice was some of the best we've had. Cheese Enchiladas with home made chili, "to die for." Home made tamales, same story. I'll never drive thru Waco without stopping in to see my new best friend MaryLou! I ordered a Chile relleno and when it was served, I said that's not made here. Our server Lauren immediately told Mary Lou (ML)and they got me two tamales. ML told me the rellenos were not made there and the waitress didn't realize that. She came to our table, sat down and talked to us for 15 minutes or so.Shortly we learned about the family business and I how she ended here. She is one special lady, running a fantastic business. My wife ML, ordered the two cheese enchiladas and taco w/rice a whole beans. She gives meal a 5 star meal, too. Oh, I forgot to tell you George Bush comes here for the enchiladas, too. 2.5 Somehow I remember the food here being a lot better. This was one of my grandparent's favorite places when I was younger and I loved their soft cheese taco My mom brought me take out from here tonight after she attended a meeting here with her high school reunion planning buddies. I had her bring me an Antonio Mexican Dinner (Taco, Chalupa, Soft Cheese Taco, 2 Enchiladas, Rice and Beans). The taco was ok. The Chalupa? Who ever heard of putting both shredded cheese and queso and guacamole and beans on a chalupa? Well, maybe, if the queso wasn't more brown than it was yellow. The queso just didn't do it for me... and that's what messed this meal up. Because not only was the queso on my chalupa, it was the main ingredient for my soft cheese taco too. And as for the enchiladas... If I wanted meat on my enchiladas I would have ordered Beef Enchiladas.. so when I order cheese enchiladas I really don't want meat in my sauce. I am giving this place the benefit of the doubt, based on many memories of eating here with my grandparents, and bumping them up 1/2 a star... hopefully it would have been better eating there and not out of a styrofoam box. read more

Great mexican food! I have eaten there three times in past two months and will eat there again. The food tasted same as it did 50 years ago at the old "Italian Village".... IV near downtown. Service was also excellent! The presentation was great and there was an adequate amount of it. My only complain was the hot sauce. I thought it was a mistake, but I sure am hoping that they will adjust. Tasted OK, but like it has about 50% water added to it to weaken it down. Please fix! read more

We just moved here from San Antonio and good Mexican food in Waco is hard to find. This place has vegan beans (they didn't realize it) and some awesome vegetarian options. The rice is chicken based but husband said it was good. I had the veggie enchiladas, refried beans and potatoes. It was wonderful. My husband had a combo plate with enchiladas, taco, queso, rice beans and loved every bit of food. The jumbo margarita was awesome. Now we know why the lot is always full. This is my favorite Mexican restaurant in Waco and there are many to choose from. They have the best frozen Margaritas in town according to my wife. I'm more a fan of the cerveza. I usually have combination fajitas when I dine here and they are excellent. I think they have the best beef fajitas in town (very tender). I've also had their chicken flautas and enjoyed them. Their pico de gallo and shredded cheese is always fresh as well when it arrives at the table. Very economically priced and you very rarely have to wait to get a table like you might at one of the franchise Mexican restaurants. read more

Went here last year for a company Christmas party and truthfully it was mediocre at best. My husband ordered a burrito with caso and he got a cold piece of plastic cheese on top, also he ordered a salad with ranch dressing and he got gravy instead which was really gorss when he unknowingly put it on his salad. This year we were able to convince our bosses to go to Ninfas instead, which was beyond delicious, and best believe we would rather not have a Christmas party at all than go to Casa. read more

1. I got nachos and quesedilla 2 go and my total was like almost $30 for small portions. Not to mention it smelled like poo. I thought it was maybe the seasoning mix but it honestly smelled like poo. I couldn't finish it once I took a wiff of it cuz I thought I smelled a foul odor. The food was nearly tasteless as it had a completely unseasoned taste. 2. Service inside, the lady who checked out my order was very polite and took care of me quickly in a decent manner. She even went over my order by showing me everything inside one by one. 3. There were some wanderers in the parking lot desperately begging for money which isn't any fault of the establishment but I felt unsafe especially being caught off guard.
