Their cheese pizza is excellent. Great tasting sauce and perfect crust. I honestly wouldn't order anything else from the menu though.

Picked up a chicken parm sub this evening. Very over cooked, dried out chicken. I threw away more than half of it.

Delicious dough- went with my dad who is a tough pizza critic and he raved about it. Really quick service and really friendly staff.

Think homemade pastas, stellar service, and a large menu of traditional Italian favorites all wrapped up in a cozy neighborhood atmosphere. We stopped by for the first seating of the evening on a Saturday with a large group. There was something for everything on the craft cocktail and wine menus. Our table sampled quite a few different martinis, and it was a nice surprise that even some of the fruitier options were well balanced and not tooooo sweet. (The pear and cucumber martinis were some of our favorites). They had a ton of specials for the night in addition to the regular menu, which made picking just a few appetizers and one entree each a challenge for most of us. Even the complimentary bread basket here deserves a shoutout: the housemade cornbread and focaccia were both 10/10. A few of the favorites from our table's selections were the escargot and calamari appetizers, both the eggplant and chicken parms, and the lobster and shrimp ravioli. Lobster ravioli is one of my favorite dishes of all time, and it's all over the greater Boston area. I have to say Basil's rivals any I've had before---the lobster cream sauce is to die for, I haven't stopped thinking about it since!! Our waitress was so kind and accommodating to our groups' many questions and substitutions. Overall it was an easy 5-star experience, can't wait to come back!

The staff, managers, server all were very nice and accommodating. Food came out fast and hot. Also had a very nice conversation with the couple next to us, who had wisdom and knowledge of some history which we could relate to. We ordered the following: - Fritto misto 3/5 for me. The garlic/lemon aioli that was loaded on the bottom of the dish was great just allows u to smear and dip everything into the plate instead of a small dip dish everyone has to share. The calamari and shrimp portion is a nice appetizer size. Crispy yes, but our portion was a bit overcooked. - spaghetti Al limone - perfectly cooked, nice chew and portion. You get 4 jumbo shrimps on the pasta plate. The lemon zest sauce was tasty! Enjoyed this! 5/5 - fennel sausage pizza 5/5 I really enjoy the way they make the pizza, crispy, good bites, fresh and served on the plate with a pair of pizza scissors so you can make your own "slices" loaded with toppings. It was a good thin style. Ample bits of fennel sausage, peppers onions and scallion fresh on top. - limoncello mascarpone cake 5/5 This was a great cap to the meal. Light, the mascarpone was refreshing, the cake was not heavy and the lemon flavor came thru like a champ! Not overly sweet which is a plus for us. Some bakeries make their cakes so sweet, that it all just tastes artificial, the slice here was yummy.

It's really unfortunate that my last visit to Bar'cino Westwood was absolutely awful…read more From the service to the food taste & quality, it was the complete opposite experience I had from the previous time I visited. I don't know what happened honestly. I went on a Friday night with a reservation for 5 people @7pm. The food took FOREVER to arrive to the table. I think our server forgot about us. We kept having to remind & ask our server about our food. We got our two appetizers, baked clams & the mussels. They were okay. Very small pieces of clam & mussel meat and tasted underwhelming. After we finished both of these appetizers, it then took another 55 min for our entrees to come for some reason. And I think we probably would've been waiting longer if we didn't notify our server sooner. To be very honest, I wanted to leave because the service and long wait for the food made me lose my appetite but it was for a birthday meal. It seemed like all the other tables received their food in a timely manner. Our server also kept forgetting the drinks we ordered. I didn't even bother taking a picture of the drink that was made after we reminded him because it looked & tasted very sad. The entrees eventually came & something tasted off. Flavor was blander, food wasn't very hot, and appearance wise, did not look very appetizing, in my opinion. Lastly, we got a tiramisu for dessert. They did end up comping the dessert, which was nice, but overall the dinner I had here was probably top 5 worst experiences I've had in a LONG TIME. This says a lot because I eat out pretty much every day, a few times a day sometimes. I'm not sure if this has anything to do with it being a Friday night but DO BETTER. Fridays are the busiest days for most restaurants (yes, I know) but you're not a new establishment at all. It also visually didn't even look all that busy because they don't have that many tables here for seating. Don't ever have anything special occasions here. I put on the reservation that it was a special occasion and it was an awful feeling knowing that I could've chosen literally anywhere else. Maybe if I didn't specify it being a special occasion, we would've experienced decent service and food? I don't know anymore.

We tried a slice of pizza in the Sicilian version which had amazing taste with just the right amount of sauce. I ordered the number 80 and added pickles. I got the small size which was just enough for someone who does not eat a ton. The proportion on the sandwich was perfect and the jalapeño mayo was amazingly delicious. Parking was easy right in front of the restaurant. There was a variety of pre-cooked meals, as well as desserts, chips and a wide variety of drinks available. The menu is quite extensive with 80 sandwiches alone. Never mind the pizzas, pasta dishes and appetizers available. I highly suggest looking over the menu prior to your arrival at the restaurant or it could probably be overwhelming. I will definitely go back to try other menu items.

They offer a wide variety of drinks, prepared meals, and desserts, and the menu itself is extensive with plenty of options. I ordered three different sandwiches to try. The chicken parm was solid, though it could have used a bit more sauce. The triple decker was definitely a standout--really flavorful and well put together. Unfortunately, the Italian sandwich didn't meet expectations. Despite being the most expensive option, it had very little meat, lacked flavor, and the bread was dry. It just felt like it was missing something and wasn't worth the price. On a positive note, the Sicilian pizza was absolutely amazing--perfectly doughy and packed with flavor. I'd definitely come back, but would skip the Italian next time.
