A very good Greek style pizza place. Greek style isn't my favorite but sometimes we get lucky and the crust comes out more pan/fluffy style. Salads are fresh and tasty too. This is my favorite pizza in Medfield! The veggie pizza especially is super delicious - loaded with so many fresh crispy veggies and an extra yummy crust. We love the special that's two large pizzas and a Greek Salad, great deal! Royal also supports local non-profits in the Medfield community, they donated recently a number of pizzas for MCPE Trivia Night raising money for our schools. The owners really care! This place is the definition of 'old school' in the best way. Even their sign has the retro look I grew up with. They make the classic subs (I usually go for the steak bomb, which is the bomb!) and they are exactly what you want in a corner pizza shop. Great french fries, too! The pizza is my favorite style, made in shallow pans and I think the owners are Greek. The woman I usually see at the register is probably the mom and she's always friendly and in good spirits. Today, our local school lost power after last night's nor'easter. School was not called however. We had no lights, no ovens, and no hot food for the children. Royal Pizza came through. In three staggered deliveries, matching the school's lunch schedule, Royal Pizza delivered 60 hot cheese pizzas, right on time, and with very short notice. The kids were asking for seconds. Incredibly rude customer service. You have to love a business who answers the phone with "Yeah?" and acts like they are doing you the biggest favor in the world by taking your order. I believe the other reviewers who were told it wasn't worth their while to deliver them a pizza! When he asked me to describe where my house was before they would deliver, I told him to forget it and hung up. Judging by the reviews, I missed out on a pretty mediocre dining experience anyway. Take your business to Medfield House of Pizza or Caravella instead, where they actually appreciate your business. Even the kids at Papa Gino's have more common courtesy than this place!!! read more

Not a fan. I called in an order. When I went in to get it, it wasn't ready. No problem, I was early and they were busy. But they didn't say anything to me, like "hey bud, you're a little early. Have a seat and we'll get it to you fast." They just ignored me. I sat there and waited. and waited. Finally I got up and walked out. Never going back. Ever. It was maybe the 2nd or 3rd time I'd ever been in there. Nothing special. Just another pizza joint. For now on, I'll go to the one across the street. Or the one down the block. Or the other one down the other block. There are literally at least 8 pizza places with 3 miles in this small town. I've been coming to Royal Pizza for more than three decades. In all those years, both the food and the service have been consistent. That's difficult to do for one year, let alone more than thirty. Royal succeeds. I've tried all the restaurants that have come through Medfield in that time--from Nosh & Grog and Antara, to Zebra's and Noon Hill, to the old Francis Cafe and the Chinese restaurant that used to sit where the post office is now. Royal is the only place I've stuck with consistently. It's much better than chains like Papa Gino's or Domino's; and I think it's the best of the locally owned pizza shops, including neighboring towns like Norfolk and Walpole. Royal Pizza does seem like one of the few places in Medfield that has been in the same location and has not changed within the past fifty years or more. While it always makes me sad to remember the retirement of Lord's, at least Royal Pizza keeps Medfield Center with classic places that keep people coming back to the town. Royal Pizza is a general pizza shop with consistent food, consistent service and a base of never disappointing their customers. I have just recently started going there and throughout each of my three trips in, they have gotten my order down to a science. Everyone is friendly, the atmosphere is pleasant and the food is delicious. One suggestion that I have for them is to spruce up the inside. While they shouldn't change it around too to much, a few minor cosmetic updates would be nice to make it a bit more inviting and elegant (maybe some new lights, some new furniture). I would elaborate about the menu, but it's very predictable.... just the same as any pizza shop. Prices are very fair as well. Overall, it's a good shop that I would suggest. 4 stars. read more

Royal Pizza is my favorite takeout / delivery pizza in Medfield. It's consistently good and ready when they say it will be. We don't get very exotic when ordering, usually meat lovers or extra pepperoni and a cheese. I like that when you order two large pizzas you get a "free" salad. Salad is mostly iceberg lettuce, so not fabulous, but again, very very consistent. It is nice to get exactly what you expect every time. I have never eaten in the restaurant, but I do pick up fairly often and it is clean. Usually the service people are friendly. It can get harried at meal times, but nothing you wouldn't expect. My only complaint with this place is that Sunday evening is when I most often want pizza, and they are CLOSED! Most inconvenient. read more

I always order the same pizza and ask for it to be cooked a little longer. I got my pizza and drove to my destination only to find it was under cooked. I called to ask what happened and the guy said he would write my name down for a free pizza. When I called to get that free pizza the guy pretended like he no idea and told me there was no name written anywhere. read more

Medfield has a lot of trendy, sit-down restaurants where you wait 45 minutes for a table and pay a lot for mediocre food. Just tried this pizza place. We had a large special which was absolutely loaded! Also ordered a small Hawaiian which was very good. Crust is perfect not being too doughy and mushy. We love this place! We have grown to salivate just thinking about the taste. Very old school charm with a modern pizza oven that ensures the pizza is the same every time. We always get the curly fries because they're just fun. I always get the Greek salad and when you order two large pizzas the salad is free! I spent 5 years in Medfield in the early 80's when I was a kid. We ate Royal Pizza at least once a week as a family and I was always there with friends. I have told my kids for years about this fantastic pizza. I finally went back after 34 years away and took the family, both my sons were amazed at how good Royal's pizza was. We live in Atlanta and this was their first real Northern Pizza. Don't think they will be eating the local Atlanta pizza again. read more

This is truly the best pizza around. It is cooked to perfection and the fries are very crispy and delicious. The store was very clean with no trash on the floor. The workers are very friendly. They greeted me when I walked in and always replied with "thank you" and "You're welcome". Overall I recommend this place to others if you want to have some good pizza. read more

I love this place. Friendly people working behind the counter and excellent pizza and grinders. I can't find anything like it out in Los Angeles. I grew up in Medfield and moved 20 years ago but still swing by for a hamburg pizza and roast beef grinder while in town visiting family. I come back from college in Colorado for 2 separate weeks each year. Each six months I am gone, I crave the flawless calzones of Royal Pizza (namely the Buffalo Chicken). Every time I come home, I order at least every other day, and their food never has been anything less than exceptional. Hands down my favorite food-delivery establishment, also has excellent service, and a really friendly staff. I have tried every calzone place I can find in this general area as well as in the Denver/Boulder area of Colorado, and nothing ever has come even remotely close. 15/5 stars- I can't say enough good things about this restaurant. read more

I have been going to this place since 1971. No lie. I'm sure it has changed ownership several times over the years, but the formica-clad dining area hasn't changed a bit! Good. It's unpretentious and charming because of it. I can admit, though, since I got my driver's license, I've mostly ordered to go. Of course, what counts is good pizza and subs, at a good price. And they've got it. The two large pizza with free greek salad deal can't be beat. And their pizza and Italian subs are both the best I've found in the area. No wonder I keep coming back. read more

Not really sure how this place gets good reviews. I am a salad person and I was in the area and needed something for dinner. I stopped here to get a greek salad. There is signage on the windows that talks about the greek salad being one of their highlights. So, I figured it would be good. It was a pile of iceberg lettuce, TWO slim shavings of tomatoes, TWO kalamata olives, TWO slices of cucumber and a little white onion. With only a small smattering of feta. It was a poor excuse for a greek salad. On top of that the salad was $6.75. Oh yes and it came with a balled up half pita bread. Literally, it was in a ball. and the dressing was italian NOT greek. I live in Dedham and I make the trip at least once a week with the family. The food is just fantastic. I've been eating there since I can remember. My family still lives in Medfield, this place has been like a tradition for all of us, I think they've been there almost 40 years. Their pizza is just amazing, nice crispy crust and the sauce is just so delicious the kids love it. Great service as well very friendly people its just too bad they don't deliver all the way to dedham, but its well worth the drive for me. read more
