DUDE, Johnny Pockets! As I travel and do reviews these are the types of places I SCRAMBLE to find. I don't care about Michelin Stars, just a meal cooked with care and attention that's worth the money, travel and calories. Walking into Mr. Pockets the lobby is clean and organized. The Gentleman behind the counter greets us, explains the concept, and gives us some suggestions. I got the Chicken Parm and Steak Bomb. The Pocket is huge, freshly baked, and stuffed. Both tasted amazing! Drove over from Walpole MA but so worth it. Johnny Pockets is a find I wish we had in Westside L.A.

Go to Johnny's Pockets, just go. We were in town and looking to go somewhere for dinner. Johnny's Pockets just kept popping up on our search, so we figured- why not. Best decision we could have made. I got the Steak Bomb and my boyfriend got the Chicken Parmesan, amazing. The pockets bread is made fresh in the restaurant, and it's so good. Plus the portion size is big, and very reasonably priced. The restaurant is small but mighty, and nestled into a very residential area. It does have seating available, and it seems like most of the locals get take out. I mean I would totally get some pockets to go after work if I lived nearby. The service is amazing, and we got to meet Johnny himself. Johnny - we still want you to start a Johnny's Pockets in LA!

They where very busy and for the amount of people they had in there they made it work the guy running the register was kind talked to every customer like he knew them at that shows a good business also big up. To the Greek products they have as a grigga I appreciate some Greek snacks and drinks

Wow this place has good ratings for a reason. The garlic mayo on the steak bomb is outstanding. Putting it in a super soft pocket is so yummy Definitely worth the drive! Johnny is great.

It is a small place, quite messy, with a lot of activity (baking cookies, slicing meats) that had little to do with customer service. As I was the only customer there (at 1:25 in the afternoon) i was ignored (despite my attempts to converse) until I called out for a chicken parmigiana sandwich to go. The bread is fresh, but the sandwich merely had small pieces of breaded chicken--essentially just little bites, like one would cut for a toddler. Sauce was underwhelming and surprisingly (and disappointingly) sweet. I also purchased some premade penne with marinara for dinner. Again, the marinara was very dull...and sweet. The sandwich cost $14.75, and the penne was another $11.00. There were no pizza slices, no arancini. Rather disappointing and bare. In fact, the lemon cookie I bought, which was NOT mind blowing in any sense, was the single best thing I bought there. I know good Italian deli, and yes, I have been to Sicily on several occasions. This was more like a Subway attempt at Italian food. I do not expect to go back.

The inside of the restaurant looked the same and I loved the holiday decorations that were up. Upon arrival, we were seated immediately, as there was barely anyone inside since we arrived close to the time they opened. With that said, it seemed like there was only one waiter which caused the service to be very slow. We ordered mocktails and I also got a couple of seasonal sangrias, which along with the bread, were the best items of the experience. We also ordered fried calamari and cauliflower, home fries (not pictured), and complimentary bread. The food came out lukewarm to cool. The calamari was ok, the cauliflower needed a sauce or something because it was bland. I really hoped for better from this place. :(

The chicken was tender and flavorful with enough heat to let you know you were entering into something spicy without compromising the other flavors. The service was attentive and friendly. The pricing for lunch was pretty reasonable. J would definitely be back. Please give them a shot, as it is so good to see a local, affordable place stand up and hopefully thrive amid a sea of boring chains and overpriced trendy fare.

She was one of the most generous individuals that we've ever met. It's so nice to know that in today's world there are such kindhearted and thoughtful people. Not only is your food delicious but Paula is exemplary and truly one of Brickhouse's most valuable assets.

We arrived around 1:00 p.m., and the restaurant was not busy. We had planned this outing for weeks and were catching up while looking over the menu. Paula greeted us, brought water, and took my neighbor's coffee order. When she first asked whether we were ready to order, we told her we needed a little more time. When she returned, we were still deciding. Rather than politely checking in, she rudely told us, "Let's go--it's time to order." We were both immediately uncomfortable. My neighbor tried to lighten the tension by joking, "You're going to kill us, but can we talk for five more minutes." As Paula walked away, she responded, "You can talk after I bring you your food." Her tone was condescending, impatient, and completely inappropriate. When Paula returned, I ordered French toast with bananas and chocolate chips, with whipped cream on the side--an order I have placed here many times. I also ordered a Western omelette and asked to substitute the peppers with American cheese. Paula then went out of her way to correct how I phrased my order and made me feel as though I were stupid. My neighbor noticed the difference in how I was being treated and was extremely uncomfortable as well. At that point, we paid for the coffee, canceled our order and left without eating. I have supported this restaurant for a long time and have brought family members and friends from out of state here specifically to try the food. I have never felt this unwelcome or disrespected during any previous visit. Unfortunately, Paula's behavior ensured that this will be my last time coming here. Good food will never compensate for service that leaves a customer feeling belittled and targeted. If you are a person of color, please be wary of this waitress. One employee's behavior completely ruined a restaurant I once enjoyed and regularly recommended.

Since they are famous for their pizza, we ordered a cheese pizza with mushrooms which proved to be tasty. We also got the chicken and eggplant parmesan which was good but not particularly special; above average diner food. The interior is from the 1950s. Small, cramped booths, servers that look like they have been there forever, and a great casual family atmosphere, energy. I had a salad with creamy Italian ( delicious), a great big piece of chicken parm (delicious!) that came with a side of spaghetti. Oh yeah. They also serve you with your meal, Scali bread and butter. The food was served hot! I loved it! It seems like most places serve you warm food these days. The food was all delicious, friendly service and a really nice time. I tried to get a few slices to go, but they only serve their famous pizza as whole pies. The pizza is the star of the show here I hear, but I would say everything was the star. Great food, reasonable prices and a great atmosphere! I'll definitely have to go back there for their pizza. Beware if you are a little bit uh, big or Alan Thicke as the booths are very tight, a bit small and a bit cramped for my liking. It may be because I'm a little bit big( 6'2" 240 lbs.). I get it.
