I took the NRA Basic Pistol Course with Cheryl and it was amazing. I had never shot a pistol before so I was going into this class as a complete beginner. Cheryl was very engaging, funny, and informative. Most of the class consists of a classroom portion where Cheryl will inform you of important and relevant laws to be aware of when it comes to your firearm. You'd think this info would be boring but Cheryl taught the information in such an engaging way that made it easy to retain the info. The last part of the class consists of actually shooting a pistol at a nearby shooting range. My first time shooting a pistol and while it was nerve wracking at first, I felt completely safe with Cheryl! I highly recommend Cheryl and CAS & Sons Protective Group for their basic pistol class. The CCW instructor, Sheryl covered a great deal of useful information. Made sure we are aware of the law, what we failed to follow and what to do in the future. She made sure that we know how to protect ourselves if and when the time comes that we need to be our own first responders. They provided substantial visual aids, videos, and reading materials so that we won't get bored with the class. Cheryl is great. She knows her stuff too. She's Respectful, attentive, welcoming. However, my review is based on the results after my experience. I went to take a AZ CCW class totaled $150 to include AZ fees. The finger prints were done incorrectly and were not accepted by the state of AZ. My application was denied and stated that they never put their NRA number and something about the certificate. By this time, I had relocated for a bit back to the eastcoast. I requested a refund, and offered to send her their money order back. She stopped responding via email. I filed a dispute with the bank, but she responded stating that the classes were taken way too long ago. The truth is, it was less than 4 months prior to my dispute and I didn't even take an actual class. (Which is preferred not to anyway). My dispute was made in her favor. So not only did I lose $150, I had to pay for new finger prints and new classes somewhere else and AZ filing fees again. So, I'm not out over $300. The bank told me I can dispute it again but I'm not going to waste my time. It wasn't about the money, it was the principal. read more

I'm way overdue on my review for Cheryl from CAS&Sons. I started speaking with Cheryl last year to inquire about the class for my CCW. Cherly was so amazing at answering any questions that I had prior to me getting approved for my CCW. once approved I didn't even think about going to another place for training and license. I showed up early for the whole day class just so I could speak with her as we had communication via phone or text for a whole year prior to this point. She has a super interesting background that I found very fascinating!!! The class was off the chart amazing and VERY informative. I took the NRA Basic Pistol class with Cheryl. I had never before handled a firearm. Cheryl is a military veteran and an outstanding instructor. The course includes classroom instruction followed by live shooting instruction at a nearby range, all for a very reasonable fee. If you search for this NRA course, you will see a range of fees, however the course at this location includes all costs including range fees, pistol and ammunition whereas at other courses these are (required) add-on fees. The classroom instruction was outstanding. Cheryl was very knowledgeable and very clear. She was also super patient with me with all of my questions. I learned a so much and now I have takeaway materials to continue to review. At the range, I was super nervous but Cheryl was very understanding and amazingly patient. At this location, they teach a number of different courses including security guard training and ladies only courses, in addition to the NRA courses. This is a great place to learn, has excellent instruction, and as an added bonus, it is always nice to patronize a US military operated business. As you can guess, I highly recommend. read more

They offer the best Ladies Firearm Training. I learned so much in the class about California gun laws and firearm safety. The class was lead by two knowledgeable and professional (female) instructors. These ladies were on top of it. I learned how to inspect, load, unload, store, transport, and shoot a pistol and revolver. I'm going back for the shotgun training. I would definitely recommend Cas & Sons in Carson. This was my first time shooting a firearm but not my last. Great experience. read more

I give it -5 stars. The only reason why This company gets one star, because there is nothing lower. Buyer beware!!!!! Do yourself a favor, do not go here go somewhere else. I went through a SB-1626 class, a taser class, and requal for my open Carry firearm permit. I had to fight to get my permit for my BS-1626 class as well as redo my paperwork for requal on my Open carry permit. I am still waiting on the Teaser permit from this company and no one seems to answer their phone. The company took my money and will not get back to me. Please beware of this company and any of its employees. Do not go here if you're looking for any type of security permits or help in getting one. read more
