Not much to say about carvel. If you are from the north their reputation stands the test of time. If looking for an ice cream cake this store had a lot of cakes to choose from. I always go for the vanilla brown bonnet. I have to be honest I was disappointed (why I took a star away) ...the dipped chocolate was very thin. There was little to no crunch to it. I love carvel tremendously. However this location on northlake sucks terribly. I cant stand the service. They have went through couple of different management and it still stucks. I've always have shopped at Haverhill location due to awesome overload, it just unfortunate it's out of my way. I wish the northlake location can do some much better. The old lady, her husband and daughters are running this business for a long time. I am a great lover of the brand "Carvel" and wherever I go if i see a "Carvel" ice cream shop, I stop by and take some bite. This store is just a few blocks away from where I live but sadly I just do not feel the urge to go there despite my love for this brand. You know why? Because the people who are running this place treat customers as garbage. I never saw smile from the face of the old lady, her husband or the daughters. I think they feel bothered to serve the customers. They should first take a lesson of customer service before opening a place like this. Definitely a fan! was so excited to see a Carvel as we moved from NY so I get so excited when I see restaurants or things that remind me of NY. I can not believe that a place that serves food does not allow customers to use the restrooms! You serve food/ice cream and people need to wash their hands before they eat especially children! I asked where is the restroom, and the man replied we do not have a restroom for customers. Only for employees. Luckily the place next-door was nice enough to let my children wash their hands in their restroom. When I came back I spoke to the owner telling her that I'm sure it's against health code to not have people wash their hands before eating and not having a restroom. She lies to me and tells me it's out of order right now. When the man who made my ice cream told me they don't allow customers to use it.
