We had the fried pork gyoza, crazy salmon roll and honey honey chicken and had to try the fresh in season mango and sticky rice!! Yum! KATI has only been open a little under a year since they changed owners, and it has blown us away. The quality of the Thai dishes and sushi especially is both artistic and well balanced and the prices are the best in town. The owner was our waitress and she is very sweet and a wonderful human being. The music is relaxing, it's very clean and fully of small modern touches that make it feel like a slice of Asia and a slice of home all at the same time. It's easy to miss this spot from the road, but I'm so so happy we came, and I know you will be too when you stop by!!

The mango sticky rice is as close as it can be in Thailand and distinguished with other places because they use the Asian mango, not the American mango, therefore the sweetness is at the same range as the sticky rice! It's your typical strip mall Chinese take out. The rice itself lacks flavor, but they do have lots of protein in the rice. The egg rolls are crispy and flavorful but lack filling. It was shockingly different and just not good. The Pork fried rice was so mushy, as well as the Lo Mien, just so mush and maybe not fresh? the general Tso, which we always loved from here was not good, the chicken was chewy. The ingredients tasted fresh, the seasoning was on point, and nothing felt unnecessarily heavy or overly sauced. The shrimp shumai were delicious--generously filled and flavorful. The garlic clam with vermicelli was probably my favorite. Not only was the presentation beautiful, served on oyster shells, but the combination actually worked. The garlic was flavorful without overpowering the delicate clams, and the vermicelli provided a great contrast in texture. This is the kind of dish where you can tell some thought went into the execution. The sweet and sour pork was also very well done. Crisp, not greasy, and importantly, not drowning in an overly sweet sauce. The balance was just right. We finished with the egg custard, which takes about 20 minutes to prepare. It was worth waiting for. It had that genuine, traditional quality that you don't always find when restaurants start modifying dishes to appeal to a broader audience. And then there was the service: Our server, Mai, was wonderful. She was warm, courteous, and professional without being overly formal or hovering. More importantly, she actually knew the menu. Her recommendations were excellent, and every dish she suggested delivered. She also recommended a sake pairing that complemented the meal beautifully. I also thought the pricing was very reasonable for the quality. These are dishes that require good ingredients and careful preparation, and I didn't feel like we were paying an inflated price. Authentic flavors, fresh ingredients, thoughtful execution, and genuinely good service. That's what makes a restaurant worth returning to--and Grand Lake got all four right. The broth was clean, rich, and full of flavor. The wontons were generously filled with shrimp and pork, along with bok choy, making every bite satisfying. I also had the shrimp balls, which arrived piping hot, were perfectly cooked, and weren't greasy at all. They were packed with flavor. Overall, another excellent dining experience.
