initially left a 5 star review and they were my go to Chinese place, but I ordered with a gift card from work on 3/31 a total order of less than $50. We went to use the gift card again a few days later and its $400 balance was completely drained. I went to confront them and they said to call the cops. Only place we used it and it's been locked in a safe otherwise. Don't trust them with your card info especially a gift card. A purely take out place - China Town Chef has a broad menu. Our food was good. Nothing special but the hot and sour soup was rich and flavorful. Our mains were large and fairly tasty. The lady taking our order was disinterested but patient and, even though there was almost no one ordering after me, she had no idea who I was. Fabulous food. Best chinese food I have eaten in years. Hot Sour soup was full of vegetables. Curried vegetables had very flavorful sauce that was not too spicy. I appreciated that that the dishes in sauce were wrapped in an additional plastic so nothing leaked on the way home. A few free items at certain price points. Fresh duck sauce instead of those crummy packets. Just wish they had a dining room for a nice evening out. Prices were a bit more expensive than other takeouts but totally worth it. read more

Great local fare. They've been there for decades. A little gets lost in translation regarding payment and delivery but the foods the main attraction. I ordered for delivery and I had to repeat my address 4-5 times. I also had to spell the street name over and over again. The egg roll was cold and even after I heated it up it was meh. The pork fried rice was cold and tasteless and the sesame chicken was hard and tasted yuck. I will not order from here again read more

First of all I'm Chinese from Hong Kong. My daughter on one of her visits decided to try this place . I am a picky eater & very critical of Chinese foods . I was surprised it was good ! I have getting my dinners there several times a week lately and I can tell you they are the best in this area . The sauces r not too dark and thick & salty like most other ones . It actually tasted like home cooking . The reason I didn't go there sooner is , on their menu they said they have been there 30 yrs !!? Looking for great Chinese take out? Look no further! I have never had such great Chinese food in my life! The quality of food and service is unparalleled, especially given the price. My great experience started with the kindest woman on the phone who took my order. She repeated everything very clearly and was efficient. Then the food came and we were blown away! (We ordered delivery- it came fast and was worth the low up charge). The general tso chicken was made with REAL chicken breasts. The fried rice had chunks of real pork in it. The chicken Lo mein had real chicken in it too and the chicken fingers were the best ever. Overall, 10/10 recommend. Was in the area and saw this place was highly rated. Definitely the best Chinese food I've had in literal years. Super small & clean place, with nice staff. The food was fantastic. We had sweet & sour chicken with pork lo mein, crab rangoon & general tao's chicken with pork fried rice (forgot to snap a picture of that!). The sweet and sour chicken stayed hot & crisp even after a 25 minute drive home, as did the rangoons. The combo meal (gen. tao's w/ fried rice & an egg roll) was my favorite. The rice was delicious, and the chicken was drenched in a flavorful sauce (which actually has a kick). The egg roll was also amazing, didn't even need duck/soy sauce! Everything else was top tier, but I'll note my favorite thing about this place: the quality. The chicken was real and fresh, in comparison to the gummy, mealy, chewy stuff you find all over Palm Beach County. As of now, this is the ONLY place I'll get Chinese from! read more

I was so pleased to discover this little spot through Yelp - it was an overall pleasant, yummy experience! Upon initially ordering on the phone I was greeted by a sweet woman who was so very helpful and accommodating as my family attempted to decide on different dishes. We were given multiple free egg rolls and their popular (and delicious) Krab Rangoon. The portions were huge and we had a generous amount of leftovers. The food was quickly ready and packaged up for us upon arrival. The woman confirmed all our food and offered friendly and attentive service. Each dish was enjoyed (general tso's chicken, sesame chicken, veggie fried rice, egg rolls, Krab Rangoon and my own absolutely wonderful sesame pancakes). Would visit and recommend! This review is not based on their food, since I won't be getting any tonight. My review is more to do with customer service, and is about something that potential customers should be aware of. I called to place an order that I was paying for, intending to have my son pick it up on his way home from work. However, they do not accept credit cards over the phone for payment. Unfortunately, my son left his credit card at home, and didn't have enough cash to pay for the order, which was over $40.00. I called them back and explained the situation, also asking if they took Google Pay (which I sort of figured they would not, if they don't take credit cards). The lady I spoke with said no card over the phone, so I told her I would have to cancel the order (which I am sure they probably had started making since they said it would be ready in 15 minutes). She didn't sound happy when she replied back to me "You cancel?" Sorry - I didn't want to....but not much else I could do. I wasn't driving all the way out there to pick it up (I live 25 minutes away....my son passes the place on his trip home from work). Disappointing, to say the least. None of the Chinese take out places near me are decent. I've heard good things about the food here. But I won't find out tonight. read more
