    Special order lobster

I almost hesitated to write this because Golden Pavilion feels like a well kept family secret, but they truly deserve the spotlight. My family and I come here often for dim sum and celebrate Lunar New Year here every year. The service is always warm and attentive, especially from Sue, and we always leave happy, completely stuffed, and usually carrying leftovers. Their menu is extensive, and I have yet to order anything I didn't enjoy. My dim sum favorites include the sticky rice with lotus leaves, chicken wings, siu mai, preserved egg and congee, steamed dumplings, fried shrimp balls, sesame balls, and pan fried turnip. You really can't go wrong with anything on the dim sum menu. Everything is made fresh, arrives hot, and is consistently delicious. For Lunar New Year, we order the whole steamed fish with scallions and ginger. It is perfectly cooked every time, flaky, moist, and full of flavor. We also love the roast chicken and duck, General Tso's chicken, and the pan fried seafood noodles loaded with scallops, shrimp, and calamari. Even the fried rice is a standout. This year, we placed an order ahead for the whole lobster and devoured it. I've heard they may be relocating when Whole Foods moves into the plaza, so be sure to stop in soon or follow them for updates. This place is truly a gem worth supporting.

This restaurant that has been around for 40 years in Palm Beach County has just moved to a wonderful location in Jupiter. The food is scrumptious and the service first rate. If you are looking for an authentic Chinese restaurant in the Palm Beach Gardens/Jupiter area this is well worth the drive. Although this is a new location, it was quite busy with takeout orders as well as long-term fans who traveled up to eat at one of their favorite restaurants in this new location. They are open every day except for Wednesday and you can get everything from dim sum to a while steamed fish. For dessert, we had fried sesame balls that were freshly made and brought to our table piping hot.

Excellent food and service. Each time we go, we try something different, and every time we're given great tasting fresh food. Pepper steak has excellent flavor and the vegetables aren't overcooked. I had the shrimp egg foo yung which was large and fluffy, with great flavor. It has a thick gravy that comes with it too. Every time we go, it's clean and quiet and only a few tables have people. I was told that the bathrooms are immaculate too.

I ordered beef brisket and fried dumplings. The taste is okay, but the price is a little high.

This. All of this. This is what a Chinese restaurant…read moreshould be. Great food at decent prices, friendly servers, and no contrived fluff over getting some hipster deconstructed curry kabob blah blah blah. Our food (and we tried quite a few things) was fresh, hot, and delicious. Not one person who worked there passed by us without asking how we were or if we needed anything. Our only minor nitpick would combo dinners getting veggie fried rice instead of pork but even that was good.

I have my usuals that I get delivered from here but I decided to try all new dishes. First I…read morestarted with the pork dumplings which are probably the best damn dumplings I've ever had. Yes they were that good and the tangy soy sauce that pairs with it enticed the hell out of my taste buds. I wasn't sure if I had already tried the beef in hot garlic sauce but I ordered it anyway. I chose a non- spicy choice but it definitely would probably be more flavorful with more spice. I loved that it came with veggies - bamboo shoots, carrots and my favorite...mushrooms! The house pan fried noodles were certainly interesting as the crispy egg noodles were in a separate container from the shrimp, calamari, chicken, pork and vegetables. Once you added the protein, veggies and gravy the noodles start to soften up. Loved that it came with more mushrooms but wished it had more taste. Overall I will definitely be getting those pork dumplings again but I may just stick to my old faithful house fried rice and orange beef until I'll feeling adventurous again.

The ingredients tasted fresh, the seasoning was on point, and nothing felt unnecessarily heavy or overly sauced. The shrimp shumai were delicious--generously filled and flavorful. The garlic clam with vermicelli was probably my favorite. Not only was the presentation beautiful, served on oyster shells, but the combination actually worked. The garlic was flavorful without overpowering the delicate clams, and the vermicelli provided a great contrast in texture. This is the kind of dish where you can tell some thought went into the execution. The sweet and sour pork was also very well done. Crisp, not greasy, and importantly, not drowning in an overly sweet sauce. The balance was just right. We finished with the egg custard, which takes about 20 minutes to prepare. It was worth waiting for. It had that genuine, traditional quality that you don't always find when restaurants start modifying dishes to appeal to a broader audience. And then there was the service: Our server, Mai, was wonderful. She was warm, courteous, and professional without being overly formal or hovering. More importantly, she actually knew the menu. Her recommendations were excellent, and every dish she suggested delivered. She also recommended a sake pairing that complemented the meal beautifully. I also thought the pricing was very reasonable for the quality. These are dishes that require good ingredients and careful preparation, and I didn't feel like we were paying an inflated price. Authentic flavors, fresh ingredients, thoughtful execution, and genuinely good service. That's what makes a restaurant worth returning to--and Grand Lake got all four right. A very solid 5 stars from me.

I ordered the War Shu Duck, and it was every bit as good as I remembered from when I was a kid--crispy, flavorful, and absolutely delicious. The wonton noodle soup was outstanding as always. The broth was clean, rich, and full of flavor. The wontons were generously filled with shrimp and pork, along with bok choy, making every bite satisfying. I also had the shrimp balls, which arrived piping hot, were perfectly cooked, and weren't greasy at all. They were packed with flavor. Overall, another excellent dining experience. It's great to see a longtime local favorite continue to deliver the same quality after all these years. I'll definitely be back.

This time we order a lot of the same things that we always ordered. There were a few more things that we wanted to try because we had some guests that didn't eat seafood. So we started with beef fried rice, beef chow fun and Mongolian beef. The fried rice was flavorful had a nice wok hei aroma. The Mongolian beef and beef chow fun tasted very similar just one has the noodles. We ordered some of the dim sum like fried lobster ball (honestly this one didn't have any resemblance of any lobster), shrimp rice paste was ok but the rice paste was thicker than before, we ordered the green tea bbq pork bun but was given the regular ones instead, when we ask about it the server said that they ran out and says it was the same just the different color on the outside!! (Well my daughter only eats the green tea buns and she doesn't like the other one that why we chose to come here and expects what we ordered) if something ran out all you have to do is tell the customer who ordered and they will make that decision PLEASE DONT MAKE THE DECISIONS FOR US!! The Seafood Pan Fried Noodle was the most disappointing!! It our favorite to enjoy both this time the scallops and the imitation crab meat tasted off like it's about to turn bad. We asked for rice, sugar and other this multiple time but the server seems to be overwhelmed and forgot. The bathroom is kind of smelly and should be thoroughly clean before service
