    Pad See Eew

What went well? Everything! What a wonderful find on a spontaneous Black Friday day trip! We ate mid-afternoon outside. It was a perfect, cool day. The server Emma was lovely and provided excellent insight about the food for us. We had vermicelli summer rolls as an appetizer, which were so fresh and the peanut sauce tasty. As entrees, we had the Larb salad with ground chicken. A bit spicy and so delicious. The Pad See Eew (substituting with gluten free sauce) with shrimp and tofu was the best we ever had. Incredibly flavorful and ingredients were fresh. We will definitely visit again!!

This is my second time here was so impressed the first time that I broke the wifey back here for lunch. This is such a come and cool place to share a meal with excellent service compliments of Siri who was our server! We went with the Edamame fried rolls as an appetizer, the Larb chicken salad, and the Pork Pad Thai. Once again, I have to reiterate that this is probably one of the most authentic Thai places I have eaten at . We will definitely be back and fellow YELPERS I would highly recommend this place for lunch or dinner as the food service and atmosphere is outstanding!

    Larb- the perfect light appetizer

Top dining experience in a while. These guys know authentic Thai cuisine. The delicate notes of mint and cilantro balanced with fish sauce and acidity was remarkable. Summer rolls knocked our socks off. Service- top of the line and attentive but certainly not intrusive. The crispy duck took our breath away. Our server made several "on point" recommendations that did NOT disappoint including the sticky mango dessert that was light and delicate to round out a fantastic meal. We can't wait to go back!

Beef Pad Thai Boba matcha tea

This is some of the best Thai food I have found in Florida ! The servers are so kind & sweet & just make coming here a delight. I always have the same thing cause unfortunately I am a creature of habit & the beef Pad Thai is always mouth watering. With a refreshing iced boba matcha

Gyoza ate two before I took picture was so good and fresh!

The food was so good will definitely be going back. got the panang curry which came a little spicy like medium level so definitely get if you like a little spice. The red dragon roll and Gyoza were so good also and the presentation looked beautiful!

First time visiting this restaurant and unfortunately, probably our last. We came in for lunch and immediately noticed the cutely decorated space was completely empty of customers. Idk if this should have been a sign but we sat down anyways. It took a good 5-8 minutes before someone came to take our drink orders. The staff is nice but inattentive, we had to repeatedly flag them down for service. We ordered the summer rolls to start, they were pretty good. We also ordered the Crying Tiger Salad and the Crispy Pork Pad Thai special. I have to say, we really liked the Pad Thai and it was a huge portion for $30. I was excited to try the Crying Tiger Salad, this is a go to at a lot of Thai places but I was highly disappointed especially for the price. What is typically a salad of complex flavors with soy, lime, coconut sugar, fish and oyster sauces, onion, cilantro, mint, etc. topped with marinated tender beef at other Thai restaurants, is a boring plate of bland lettuce, halved tomatoes, a beautiful (useless) carrot butterfly and unmarinated beef here. The only reason for crying was out of disappointment that none of the typically crying tiger flavors were present, it was literally just an American steak salad without dressing and a side of spicy chili paste. I will say, the steak was cooked perfectly so I ended up adding it to my husband's pad Thai and trashing the "salad". They also had mango sticky rice on the menu which was the entire reason for our visit but they were "out of mangoes", so there's that. The other disappointment in this all, is that this was a two hour lunch and not because we were chit chatting so much. The kitchen is incredibly slow in producing food, especially for only one table in the entire place. Even our server was sitting at a booth hanging out since it was so slow so we're not sure what the delay was for. Overall, we gave 3 stars because the food was decent and the space was clean and nicely decorated.

Loved this place! Wish I had written the review sooner as I forget what I had! I do remember though that I kept telling my friend that it was delicious. The service was great and the atmosphere was cozy. We got some bob for dessert. I got Mango and it very well may be the best I have ever had. I will definitely go back! Anxious to take my husband!

Lots of good here, but also a number of items to improve! 1) woman on the phone was super helpful and customer service was great. She took a moment to confirm what I needed and was kind enough to- this goes a long way with me 2) they were able to accommodate my gluten free needs - Nice! 3) however it seems that they omitted soy sauce and any spice to adjust to the needs. Ingredients were great quality but it had zero spice or soy sauce flavor that it required. I had to add my own gluten free soy sauce and chili flakes and it tasted a lot better - I would recommend finding a gluten free sauce that can be added rather than excluding it all. I would also suggest that they add spice, as it was very lacking. Overall great service and good food quality, but needs some adjustment for gluten free accommodations.

Ordered take out and it was so good! We tried the green curry, yaki soba and spring rolls. Everything was fresh, hot and tasty. Def will order again!!

    Chicken Pad Thai
    Monica F.

The food was really good. Great presentation and the portions were very large. So large that I got two other meals out of my chicken Pad Thai. We had a shrimp roll appetizer that was wonderfully refreshing with mint leaves inside and a yummy sauce to dip into. The service was very slow - we got there at 7ish for dinner. The couple next to us said that they came in earlier and practically no one was there so theirs was speedier. The new decor is a bit dark for my taste. The darkness of the floor and some of the walls paired with low lighting make the atmosphere a bit gloomy. But the food is worth it so I'll be back.

My dim sum favorites include the sticky rice with lotus leaves, chicken wings, siu mai, preserved egg and congee, steamed dumplings, fried shrimp balls, sesame balls, and pan fried turnip. You really can't go wrong with anything on the dim sum menu. Everything is made fresh, arrives hot, and is consistently delicious. However, Chinese buffets is my wife's sweet spot and so here we are at Mikata. Atmosphere: if you have ever been to a Chinese buffet, you know the look... functionally efficient cafeteria. Definitely not a mood environment. As with all buffets, it had tons of people moving through the lines to gather as much food as they could. Service: As with the atmosphere, it was functionally efficient. Although I must admit, our server did talk with us and had a great smile. Food: Ah the food. I never like buffets because the food is usually underdone when it first comes out and becomes overdone as it sits and waits to be picked on. However, even though I don't like Chinese buffets, because I visit them often (for my lovely bride) I've become quite experienced of the genre. And if you compare the Mikata buffet with other buffet' s, I must say, this one is as good as it gets. The crab Rangoon was small but amply filled with cheese. The ribs were juicy, and the peel and eat shrimp were top notch. As a bonus, they even offered asparagus instead of the usual broccoli or green beans. My favorite offering was the roasted duck. It was juicy without being fatty, absolutely the best I've had in a Chinese buffet. Even the ice cream tasted better than most. Price: Here is the best thing about Mikata. Where else can you get an all you can eat dinner for $17.00 per person! Even McDonalds will cost you more than that! The Bottom Line: As always my "customer so what" is would I come back? Knowing my wife's proclivity towards Chinese buffets, you can bet on it. However, because of the price and quality, she won't hear my usual complaints.

The interior is super nice and it does feel upscale. They have large tables and some smaller ones but it's not a huge restaurant space. This means the meals feel very cozy and intimate. Squid ink is slightly more expensive. The shumai was a 9/10. By the way the dumplings were huge and about 4 pieces per order. We tried the curry fish balls, which essentially is fish balls like the ones you get at hot pot cooked in a yellow curry. It was my first time trying this and I thought it was just ok. This was a 5.5/10. Some ordered beef and broccoli for the table and it was delicious. Definitely a large dish to be shared. That was an 8.5/10. We tried their wonton soup which came with noodles and bok chop. This was an 8/10. The fried shrimp balls were excellent and is a 9/10 for me. Normally, I think they are either too savory or oily. The place is elegantly decorated with an Asian theme. However, some of the benches attached to the booths had worn out upholstery. Our server, Yumi (spelling?) was polite and efficient. We had the salt and pepper squid appetizer. It was plentiful and great with the accompanying sauce. However, we didn't like the breading. And I dared to bite into one of the peppers that accompanied it and it set my mouth on fire. For dinner we had the Szechuan scallops and the XO fish. The scallops were tasty and the dish had lots of broccoli, peppers, and mushrooms. The sauce was a bit sweeter than we expected. The XO fish sauce was very similar to the Szechuan sauce and though the fish was a tad salty, it was still savory. The asparagus that accompanied that dish was chopped (easier to eat) and there were plenty of sweet snap peas and bell peppers. We adore snow pea tips and were in the mood for lots of veggies. So, we got an order to accompany our meals. We did take home most of it, along with lots of broccoli (for me) from the Szechuan scallops. We were treated to a complimentary Chinese-style dessert made with peeled split mung beans and thickened with tapioca starch into a gooey, translucent pudding that was served warm.
