Finally able to stop in and try this place out. It is fairly small but has a good amount of seating. Parking on the side, it's a very busy high traffic corner. We were greeted and seated right away. Very authentic and humble feel. Had the crab Rangoon app, it was delicious! Actually, it might be one of the best I've had. It def has some curry in it, just the right amount because it wasn't overbearing and we loved it. They were pretty filled up as well. I've seen bigger crab Rangoon that are just more empty crunch, not nearly as filled as these. Delicious sesame sauce as well. Chicken Pad Thai was delicious also. Loaded with chicken. I have learned that there are different types of sauce, one being a peanut butter based and another being from a ketchup base. This one was the ketchup based and it was great! Great flavor! They do have a very small upcharge for using credit cards - just like many other businesses are doing. Their pricing is very fair as well, even with the credit card upcharge (it's a very small difference). This is definitely a place I will be back to. read more

Oh my God, I love reading all your 1-star and low reviews. I reviewed the Palm City location so here's my thoughts on the Stuart location (which didn't fare as bad with the people, but still) -My favorite of the bunch is the girl and her brother who ate tainted shrimp and had a sibling poopmergency. Hahaha. Thankfully they had two bowls at their hotel. Phhhhhhhhhtttttt!!! "Damn you, Basil Garden"!!! -There's one where the woman complained about her crab rangoons. And her soup. And her daughter's food. Jesus lady, were you eating off fellow customer's plates too? Anything on the menu you didn't sample? I believe it was the same review the gal took umbrage with the various artwork. We ordered the basil fried rice, krab rangoons, and panang curry. The basil fried rice is extremely bland. I was surprised because the photos online looked pretty good, but my meal was extremely bland. Lacking spice and any taste in general. The krab Rangoons tasted fine but were incredibly tiny. I usually get decent sized krab Rangoons in other restaurants. Definitely not worth the $6. I saw the reviews on the Panang curry being good but it was also very bland compared to the other restaurants I've tried. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. read more

However, For the first time in the years that I have been going to this establishment, I ordered a beef dish and the quality of beef was horrific! SCW and I have tried Basil Garden a few times spaced out over a year or so. The first time was fine although nothing really remarkable about the food. I will say it's a nice little Mom and Pop business which I like supporting. I've had the Pad Thai and Drunken Noodles at very hot spice levels. Both dishes I've had came out with fresh salad or soups that were flavorful but pretty basic. Think iceburg lettuce with ginger dressing. Not bad by any means but simple and unremarkable. The veggies are fresh and crisp but the flavors and spices aren't really as intense as I like. Perhaps this is what diners enjoy but I much prefer bold spices and good heat from my Thai food and this hasn't really delivered. They do have some spices available on a counter by the door when you come in to bring with you to your table. Those help a little bit. They also have a garden covered area outside in which to dine however both times I've been here for lunch they haven't seated anyone out there. I'm sure with it's proximity to US 1 that it would be loud, but cool regardless. The service here is always great and the prices are good. I'll likely be back but explore more ways to boost the spice level. read more

A nice little family owned Thai restaurant. The inside ambiance is older and a bit worn. If you like local small hole in the wall restaurants this fits the bill. I ordered the Green Curry with tofu and vegetables medium spice and my better half ordered pad thai with vegetables not spicy. Both were made as ordered. I thought the green curry was very good. The pad thai was good, but bland (she did order not spicy) and maybe a bit sweet. Good, but not the best we've had. Recommend having at least some spice. The dinners include a small salad with a peanut dressing. Nothing special but nice. A good value in Stuart - veggie/tofu dinners are $11.95 and various meat seafood go up to about $18.95. Very reasonable compared to many surrounding restaurants. We will definitely go back. read more

Excellent Thai green curry and khee mao entrees, that came with soup and spring roll for lunch. They asked how much heat we wanted, and they delivered what we asked for. It's not fancy, and the outdoor seating is just a few feet from Federal Hwy, but the food and service were very good at lunchtime. And the outdoor seating is dog friendly, which is important to me. We will be back!! Good solid Thai food delivered by attentive staff. read more

The place is very old and dirty. I ordered 4 dinners and the food was done on-time but one of the dishes had a Cockroach in the food! The food also was very bland (even before we found the cockroach). They did provide me a full refund which was nice but I cannot recommend anyone go here! read more

The food was just ok. The chairs were stained and the room was dirty and smelled like a dirty bar rag. During our visit at 6:15 only three other tables were occupied. Service is definitely lacking, we were not even greeted when entered. Our waiter got my wife's order wrong, wasn't even close which delayed everything. Waiter didn't seam to care, what a shame. I don't care to return. Oh beware, they sneek in a 15% tip without any notice. Of course there's a normal line for your tip which would be additional to the 15% already included. The price has risen tremendously and patrons now have to pay a "convenience" fee which was never explained. The taste, quality and quantity has fallen! The interior decor is dark and uninviting! On workation, and too tired after work to cook. My brother recommended this place as we liked it from a few years ago. We ordered a few plates, including a shrimp dish. The waitress asked if we wanted regular or jumbo prawns. My brother was pretty sure that the shrimp would be ocean shrimp(not imported farmed shrimp), so we opted for the Jumbo Mistake. Towards the end of the meal, we both were feeling quite full. We decided to walk off the bloat after dinner. Both of us experienced stomach cramps. At one point my brother says, he needs to get home quick. On the way back, it suddenly came to mind the facebook video of shrimp injected with a gel like substance to plump them up. We joked that we were feeling bloated like fake boobs! I looked up the substance... carboxymethyl cellulose, causes cramping and.. um..bad bathroom experiences.. Let's just say I was pretty damn glad the place we stayed at had 2 bathrooms. *This was an unfortunate incident, and I'm not here to bring down a local business. I'd just like this to serve as a warning to others, and the restaurant owner. Service and the other dishes were otherwise fine. This may not have been their fault directly, but the shrimp sourcing issue needs to be looked at. read more

Sugar-packed, strangely rushed, and Rotten food. The worst food I've had since a big mac in high school. Warning: my stomach hurt the parking lot, and by the time I got home I was sick. The Worst Part: only afterwards did my sister tell me that when she opened up the container with hot pepper flakes there were Bugs in it. That's right: tiny red bugs. The front of the place looks so pretty: a fountain, jade, little basil plants... and then inside the vibe is spastic and gross. So weird. If you found yourself in Jensen Beach, go to Thai House on US 1 (not on yelp). It's fresh and authentic (Panang Curry and Tom Yum a plus). As for Basil Thai: No One should ever eat here. I had the soft shell crab with ginger sauce dinner, and my dining partner had the green curry with pork. I asked for "3 stars" on the heat/spice meter, and I'd say it was maybe a "1". My dish had 3 very large soft shell crabs, lots of great veggies in a very nice ginger sauce, so I was a happy camper. You can always add more heat, they have a tray of hot sauces/peppers. The green curry had good flavor. The sides of rice came out shaped like hearts, nice touch! The fried bananas that came with my dinner were deep fried in a rice-paper shell - a little too much wrapping, but the flavor and sauce were good. The service was great. The waitress was always there to refill water, bring the next course, etc. I'd definitely go back. They have a pretty extensive Thai menu, but no sushi or anything like that. I had the Panang Curry, which was okay, but the veggies were only beaucoup green beans and a few sliced peppers - what's up with that? They had no other vegetables available that day? Sooo disappointed! Been wanting to try either location for awhile. I got nervous just walking in!! Old...dirty... tchotchkes everywhere collecting dust on top of the oiled air . LOL. About the food: Just meh. Had the spring rolls which were cooked, but not fresh. Ordered Crispy Duck with Panang Curry and that was just so-so. Meat didn't seem freshly prepared, was a little dried out and Thankfully the sauce made it bearable. Got the Drunken Noodle dish with Tofu which was over-sauced but edible. Left feeling like I wasted calories and a money. At least it wasn't very expensive. PS 2nd server gave us a complimentary batch of fried bananas with some sort of dipping sauce. That was very nice and didn't taste bad. My Mom liked that the most. All in all it wasn't horrible, BUT I'd never eat there again. Just not impressed. Decided to try Thai Basil Garden for lunch today because we have heard good things. Was not impressed with the look of the building as we pulled up. But I'm so glad we went in! Food was outstanding and reasonably priced as well. My granddaughter had chicken fried rice and I decided on the crispy duck with red curry sauce. Both came with a tasty chicken rice soup and a crisp spring roll. They were both delicious and beautifully presented. Thai iced tea was creamy and sweet. Although there was only one server and quite a few tables, service was very efficient. I feel like the inside could be "cleaned up" a bit but overall we really enjoyed our dining experience and look forward to returning for dinner soon. read more

We came in for a nice thai dinner and left vomiting and disgusted. After ordering iced tea, Panang curry scallop, and pad thai scallops we noticed a fly buzzing near by. It seemed to be a fruit fly initially. As we served the food, more dark flies came in and landed on the food, in the bowls, and on the plate and on arms, fingers, etc. It was utterly disgusting! We got up and started to walk out and peeked into the kitchen also. It was filthy! Flies and food everywhere including the floor. We walked outside and vomited in the parking lot. I am never coming here again and will be calling the health inspector to investigate. I am hoping no one else gets sick from this place. read more
