We had a very disappointing experience. We were seated and waited approximately 1 hour and 20 minutes for our food, and it never arrived. During that time, no one updated us about any delays or issues with the kitchen. We eventually asked about our order, and there was still no clear explanation given. It felt as though our table had been completely forgotten. A simple acknowledgment or communication about a delay would have gone a long way. This was our first meal of the day, and to wait that long without any update or resolution was extremely frustrating. We understand that restaurants can get busy, but communication and basic attentiveness are essential. We then asked the bill for our drinks, and out of courtesy we would expect no charge for the long wait, but we ended up paying for our teas. Super slow and Hot. The restaurant is tucked away in a corner (quite difficult to find using Apple Maps) and there is very limited, uncomfortable seating. It's a good thing it wasn't busy as all because I couldn't imagine waiting any longer than we had. Food was also less than memorable. Although the service was friendly, being that we arrived hungry, we weren't happy that the entrees came out 10 mins apart so by the time my husband got his food, I was done with mine. We're new to the area and I was looking forward to stopping in, specifically for the blue themed food, which I thought was super creative. I was less than impressed with my dish as it was very bland and overpriced for the portions. We ordered a side of rice for our son toddler and although it came out super cute and shaped as a blue dolphin, he wouldn't eat it. I can't say that we would be back. read more

A year later, I still adore this Thai restaurant. One weekend this summer, I tried to get in and they said they couldn't. They would be too busy with a party. I tried again this past weekend, and was able to have dinner. It makes sense why. This is a very small local business. Their food is ever so amazing! This time we ordered Fish Sam Rod and Thai Steak. These flavors I can't find anywhere else on other Thai restaurant menus. The drawback is the service is not good here, and that is a big deal for me. If you were to ask the server about the food, he really is not able to give you a good explanation of it. But the food is just so good. I wouldn't order the usuals you can find on any Thai menu. I'd definitely try something different. Also, I notice it's a bit more cluttered a year later. It was nice and put together when they opened. Now it's like my parent's basement. This is a quaint place with charms. Perhaps people come for take out more than eating in. There was one other couple there and people stopped in for their take out order that they waited quite a while for. This place is a literal hole in the hole. It is in a nondescript plaza that I drove by three times before I found the restaurant. It is that unmemorable. From the outside you wouldn't know anything was here. Fortunately I saw a review by Rachel M. and so I was determined to find Blu Arroz and I am so glad I did. As soon as you walk in the door the word charming springs to mind. The restaurant is tiny but it looks homey and inviting. I looked over the menu but I already knew I wanted the blue tea based on Rachels review and I had spotted the shrimp in green curry sauce on their Instagram page and fell in love with the picture. The blu tea is Butterfly Pea Flower Tea and it is made from a dried, cobalt blue flower that is native to Southeast Asia. Are you ready for a laugh? Its scientific name is Clitoria ternatea. It has a bright blue color and it is sometimes used as a food coloring. When you add the acid of lemon it turns a violet color. I ordered the tea iced and it was only $2.50. It is served sweet with lemon and honey. It was so refreshing and delicious. Before my meal was prepared I was able to customize my spice level. I am wimpy when it comes to spicy and my dish was made perfectly for me. There was still some heat but it was delicious. The presentation was so beautiful. The rice has a blue tint from the butterfly pea flower. I loved that it was presented in the shape of a dolphin. The shrimp were huge and there were so many. Even the carrots were cut into the shapes of flowers. I ate vegetables that I didn't even know what they were, maybe mushrooms? which I thought I didn't like but everything was so yummy. I didn't leave a bite of food behind and my shrimp curry was only $15! It is like your local take out restaurant prices for fine cuisine. Check out Instagram to see their artful culinary creations. Before this restaurant I wouldn't have even listed Thai food as one of my top favorite cuisines but the food here is so amazing. I want to come back and try the rest of the menu, I just wish I lived closer. I never would have found this treasure without the help of my Yelp friend. The welcoming service from Panvisa our lovely waitress and the ambience of the intimate space in a nondescript location made this a special Saturday night out. Bring your own alcohol if you want any but the Thai iced tea and Thai iced coffee are great as was the blue lemonade. The appetizers and dinners were delicious and interesting and spicy as you want. Delicious cuisine. Poor service. I regret that, to date, I am the first to yelp fewer than the usual 5 stars for this eclectic spot. We arrived at 6:30 on a weekday night. There were 12 guests in a place that serves about 18. We waited 4 minutes until the chef's husband came out of the kitchen and greeted us. We were seated immediately but he rushed off before taking our drink order. It was another five minutes before he came back to our table to take our order. While we waited, he was bussing other tables, taking orders and bringing out dishes to tables one by one. And I'm fairly certain there was no one helping the chef in the kitchen. My wife and I ordered the curry puffs ($7.95) which is actually ONE large empanada-sized fried Thai turnover stuffed with softened onions, snow peas, corn, potato, carrot served with diced and chilled cucumber and onions in a sweet vinegar. It was an explosion of flavors. I ordered a medium sized bowl of ginger rice soup ($6.95), a clear broth of fresh ginger, thinly sliced in strips, scallion, garlic, cilantro and jasmine rice. There were unexpected small pieces of chicken breast meat. The soup was hot, fresh and delicious. Strong individual flavors. We were able to flag down our server and get a refill of ice water. It might be better if they left a carafe of ice water at the table for self serve, especially since they serve spicy Thai dishes. While we waited for our entrees, a table next to us in the small dining area remained uncleared of dishes and a family of four walked in and waited until our Jack of all trades reappeared and seated them before hastily clearing the table. From the other side of the room, a woman left the restaurant and came back in about five minutes with a chilled bottle of wine she purchased at the kwik mart around the corner. She helped herself to a corkscrew and bypassed the unimaginable corking fee. Yes, it did feel like the guests had to chip in to complete their dining experience on time. From the time we were seated until we were served our entrees was 55 minutes. I thought about ordering Dominoes to make a point. My wife ordered the Duck in red curry sauce ($26.95) Crispy duck with red curry sauce, bell peppers, broccoli, cauliflower, tomato, zucchini, green bean and, interestingly, sweet blueberries. The dish was mildly spicy and the vegetables were fresh and expertly cooked al dente. The duck was moist and flavorful and the blue jasmine sticky rice rounded out the dish. She was pleased with the selection. I, too, ordered the crispy duck but with a basil sauce ($26.95). Similar veggies and blueberries shared the plate with an addition of steamed baby bok choy. It was very satisfying. Another delay waiting for the bill. By now, I felt anxious to leave. And that's not a way to feel at a restaurant that obviously prides itself on authentic cuisine, fresh ingredients and eye pleasing presentations. I can't say that we will return unless help arrives. This is the most exquisite Thai food that I have tried in a long time, and the service is so kind and endearing. Chef Meme, has all fresh ingredients that she may even pick from her own garden! I recommend the Nam Tuk Na, if you like it spicy, with the coconut soup Yom Kah Gai. This is by far the best Thai I have every had (Sorry Lily, now my second favorite Thai). Mimi at Blu Arroz uses the freshest ingredients and combines the best flavors I have every consumed. I am conflicted because the Blu Arroz is a small restaurant and I don't want a lot of people to find out about this spot however, everyone needs to try Mimi's food. Tonight I asked her to make whatever she wanted. She plated a crispy duck with spicy mango and I cried a little bit. I will eat here often. This is not a chain restaurant. Wow, I was so excited to try this quaint little bistro because of all the great reviews from my YELP Elite squad reviews. My hubby and I went there last week to try it out. I had called first to see if we needed a reservation but there was no answer. A short while later I received a call from the restaurant owner who said we didn't need a reservation for that night. It was a Thursday so we got there right before 5 to avoid the rush. The door don't open until exactly 5 so don't go early. We were the only people there but it was kind of rainy out so we figured it would be a bit slow. The owner greeted us and brought us the menus. The place is so adorable and eclectic, decorated in warm blues to compliment the name I guess. We immediately ordered the Blue Hot tea and it was every bit as delicious as everyone had said it was. So then we waited...and waited...and waited for the owner/waiter to come back and take our dinner order. (everyone said it takes quite awhile to get served). I ordered Asian ginger rice soup to start and it was very nice but certainly not the best I had ever had. We had the soup then waited...waited...waited yet again to order our entrees. Anyway, finally he comes back to take our order and we find out they were out of their specialty Thai Steak (Picanha Beef). So, I ordered shrimp stir-fry which the owner recommended, and my husband ordered another beef dish which he also recommended. My husband's orders came about 25 minutes later and although there was still the was no one in the restaurant but us, I waited another 10 minutes or my meal. Both dishes came with rice in the shapes of a bunny and a dolphin, but neither was blue. All in all...the food was fresh and very good (not as described but still good), I don't know that we would return to give it another try. The owner and his mom were very nice and the place was cute but they certainly need to do something about the service. I guess if you aren't in a rush and don't have your heart set on one specific thing, it might be worth trying, but for now I'll keep going to my favorite Thai place closeby. read more

We just discovered Blu Arroz which was recommended by a friend and are ecstatic to have found a hidden gem for sure. An eclectic and charming ambience greats you at the front door and a great Thai tea surprise started our meal. The food was delicious, beyond our expectations. We enjoyed a wonderful sweet and sour crispy duck which was crispy on the outside, and tender and moist within, accompanied by and assortment of fresh vegetables and fruit. My husband thought it is one of the best duck dishes he has ever eaten. The shrimp pad Thai and green curry dish we ordered were also authentic and excellent; they too were lovingly prepared. The food is just so fresh and and beautifully presented. Portions are very generous and made to order. Service was vey attentive ,timely, and polite. The ambiance is like being a guest in someone's eclectic home. The owner, Eddie and his Sister, Mimi (the Chef) run this quaint restaurant off the beat and path. It is quite a find. The food is out standing and extremely fresh. Dishes take a bit longer to serve, but absolutely worth the wait. Every dish we ordered came out with such lovely presentation....(you eat first with your eyes) it was a treat to look forward to the next dish! Hands down the best Thai food in town. HOWEVER, if you are in a hurry, or not a patient human being, this is not the place for you. There was only six people there besides us and we waited 1.5 hours for our food. Pretty unacceptable really. I believe it's just the owner and his wife working there. There was a table of 6 that was before us and their dinner was being brought out one dish at a time every 15 minutes. They don't have wine or beer. Wonderful surprise for Martin County. Don't be deterred by the exterior of the building where this hidden gem is located. The interior is charming and very clean. Eddie (out in front) and his sister Mimi (in the kitchen) are lovely. The interior and feel of the place reminds me of 11 Maple Street. The food is not your typical Thai food. Apparently Mimi ran a restaurant in Bangkok and food there is a bit more sophisticated. Everything was beautifully presented and delicious. We had the curry puff, scallops (amazing) and crispy duck pad Thai. Each was similar to, but so much better than typical Thai restaurants. I almost hate to tell others about this discovery but I really want to see them succeed. They opened right at the start of the pandemic so they had a slow start. Give it a try. This truly hidden gem is set back in a hard to find little strip mall. A 100% mom and pop authentic Thai "bistro", Blu Arroz is worth the trip off busy US 1. I had the Asian ginger dish which was cooked in a flavorful broth with an assortment of tasty veg, freshly cut spices and buttery steamed shrimp served on signature blue rice, (colored by the type of rice grown in Thailand known for a blue hue). We tried the sala drink with coconut milk, which tasted and looked literally like bubblegum! And the signature Thai iced teas were freshly made, not from a pre made mix and were frothy like a cappuccino but in generous portions. My husband had Tom Yum with seafood which included fresh clams, mussels, shrimp and fish. All were steamed to perfection. Tom Yum was balanced with fresh spice and not too heavy. Each dish was prepared from scratch with fresh spices and colorful veg. The chef came out to greet us and exuded the same warmth and kindness as the host/server. It felt like we were invited over to eat in a cozy living room with La Vie en Rose playing in the background. Each dish was light, broth-like but packed with fresh flavor. I cannot stress enough how each dish was made from scratch, with love and care. The decor is eclectic but sweet. I'm not quite sure what the large teddy bear is doing other than kids will love that. My mother and I stumbled upon this place and got dinner for the whole family - it was incredible! The location was unnerving at first, but the inside of the restaurant was so home-y and reminded us of a country style house. The man taking our order was very kind and understanding. We waited a little while for our food to finish being made (it was a big meal) and a sweet Thai grandmother came out of her kitchen, told us Merry Christmas, and handed us our food.
