Chinese Take-out In…read moreour ongoing search for good Chinese take-out, we have been slowly working through the places in Port St. Lucie (and within a reasonable distance) which led me to Canton House. The reviews are pretty spot-on: This place is definitely a cut above. Pretty extensive menu from which to choose, food was hot and ready in short order and the taste: right on point. Located in a strip mall with Bravo as an anchor, this is a strictly take-out place now- the order window is where the door used to be so you have to eat at home (or elsewhere). We have are favorites and I typically use roast pork egg foo yung as a yardstick for most Chinese restaurants. If that dish is a greasy nightmare, the food typically is a fail. I was pleasantly surprised to find that the entire dish was very good from start to finish. The pancakes were firm and tasted great and the gravy was just thick enough to cover, but not the typical wastewater I have gotten elsewhere. Singapore chow mei fun was right where it was supposed to be both on the spicy and heat scales and the kids loved the chicken on a stick - so much so that I tried a bite and it was outstandingly good. So far, everything is the way I expected it to be and the people working there are quick and efficient. You can order at the window and wait or preferably, just call ahead and swing by to pick it up. Prices are a bit high but that seems to be the norm these days. Plenty of parking available

If you've been searching--and I mean searching--for truly good Chinese food in the area, your search is finally over. Everything at Hot Wok is tasty, fresh, and cooked right. The flavors are spot-on, the ingredients are high quality, and nothing tastes old, greasy, or rushed. This is the kind of Chinese food you look forward to eating, not just settle for. Coming from New York City 24 years ago, finding authentic, satisfying Chinese food in this area has been extremely difficult--until now. Hot Wok finally delivers the flavor, consistency, and freshness that NYC spoiled me with. If you miss real Chinese food the way it used to be, Hot Wok is the place. Absolutely deserving of five stars, and now my go-to spot. Highly recommended!

Living in Florida often means adjusting expectations--until you discover Hot Wok. Hot Wok is the rare exception. From the moment you walk in, the food tastes, smells, and feels like Mott Street in Manhattan. The vegetables are fresh, crisp, and bursting with flavor. The seasoning is unmistakably New York-style: bold, perfectly balanced, never overpowering, and never overly salty--just right. The hot and sour soup is outstanding, rich and comforting, and the Singapore Mei Fun rivals the quality you'd expect from legendary spots like Woo Hop. Every dish shows care, skill, and authenticity. The restaurant itself is clean and inviting, and the owners are warm, friendly, and genuinely welcoming. They're from NYC--and it shows. They know exactly what they're doing. Prices are excellent, portions are generous, and the value is unbeatable. While the location isn't right on a main road, it's absolutely worth using GPS--two minutes later, you're stepping into New York City-level Chinese food heaven If you appreciate great food, expert preparation, and incredible value, Hot Wok isn't just recommended--it's necessary.

I also had the shrimp egg foo young. For me, it's all about the gravy and this one was thick, creamy and flavorful. The dish was full of plump, fresh shrimp and the egg foo young was cooked nicely. I would have liked a few more veggies but it was good. Ordered over the phone and the order was ready in 20 minutes. The portion is more than enough for two meals. I enjoyed my meal here.

My husband had a drive back and tell the people that we were missing these items they of course they charged him for the egg roll and soup which they should've given them to him for free because of the inconvenience. He got home, opened the and the egg container of what we thought would be pork, egg, foo, young only to be shrimp, egg, foo, young, which by the way, he is allergic to shrimp! The soup was cold it was a combo of egg drop in wonton and it was just thick and gel like. I picked out the shrimp from the shrimp egg foo young but didn't eat the rest because it was just too mushy, under cooked plus did not taste right. Thank goodness the lo mein was good because we ate that plus the pain white rice and egg-roll, which was just OK. Bottom line we're looking for a new Chinese restaurant. This is too much hit or miss and lately i'm giving our order screwed up so badly. That was the last straw so I do not recommend this at all and I hope they get their act together. I'm sure whoever got my order was just as annoyed!

Today I went with the classic: General Tso's chicken with fried rice and an eggroll. The chicken had the perfect sweet-heat balance, crispy outside, tender inside, and that sauce? Dangerously addictive. The fried rice held its own too--flavorful, not greasy, and loaded with bits of egg and veggies. Solid portion size that doesn't leave you hungry an hour later. In the past, I've had their bourbon chicken, and honestly, it's just as fire. Slightly smoky, sticky-sweet glaze with juicy chicken pieces that hit the comfort food spot hard. The service here is always top-notch. The staff is friendly, quick, and you can tell they've got their system down. Whether you're dining in or grabbing it to go, you're in and out without hassle. The interior has that familiar local joint vibe--nothing fancy, but clean and well-kept. They get down to business and focus on the food, and I respect that. It was too hard needed to be cooked longer, and of course his came with the pork fried rice he commented the same, very blah no flavor at all, and his came with an egg roll, which he was shocked was very blah as well.
