Shrimp with lobster sauce & General Tso's Chicken Lunch combos
    Jennifer S.

Ordered lunch delivery on the website on a weekday (it was the day before thanksgiving for reference) and I was pleasantly surprised. I read some of the other reviews and my experience was actually quite stellar... First, the prices are not higher for making an online order (I have seen this before even if you order directly from the restaurant) and it's very simple. Second, the food was said to be delivered in about 30 minutes and it arrived much sooner than that...I'd say about 20. Third, we ordered fried dumplings, and 3 lunch combos; general Tso's chicken, shrimp w lobster sauce, and chicken w broccoli...all of them were excellent. The sauces were tasty and plentiful, egg rolls while not huge were still packed with all the good stuff (shredded cabbage, pork, etc), the pork fried rice was super fresh and very tasty, and we got one combo w a wonton soup and it too was very good. My overall experience was very good and the delivery man was very nice too. We will continue to order from them from now on...(we recently moved to Jensen beach area from PSL and I desperately needed to find a good Chinese delivery place for the ease and convenience).

    Half eaten sesame chicken

I'm actually shocked at how good their food was. I ordered the sesame chicken for a quick Saturday night dinner. I actually felt like I was eating REAL CHICKEN. Not too much breading at all and it was so flavorful. I popped in here because my usual Chinese takeout place was closed due to being out of town. This might be my new spot. I was impressed!!

Awful food. No taste, poor service. Don't know how they stay in business. No decent Chinese food on the treasure coast or Martin county.

Absolutely deserving of five stars, and now my go-to spot. Highly recommended!

Living in Florida often means adjusting expectations--until you discover Hot Wok. Hot Wok is the rare exception. From the moment you walk in, the food tastes, smells, and feels like Mott Street in Manhattan. The vegetables are fresh, crisp, and bursting with flavor. The seasoning is unmistakably New York-style: bold, perfectly balanced, never overpowering, and never overly salty--just right. The hot and sour soup is outstanding, rich and comforting, and the Singapore Mei Fun rivals the quality you'd expect from legendary spots like Woo Hop. Every dish shows care, skill, and authenticity. However, Chinese buffets is my wife's sweet spot and so here we are at Mikata. Atmosphere: if you have ever been to a Chinese buffet, you know the look... functionally efficient cafeteria. Definitely not a mood environment. As with all buffets, it had tons of people moving through the lines to gather as much food as they could. Service: As with the atmosphere, it was functionally efficient. Although I must admit, our server did talk with us and had a great smile. Food: Ah the food. I never like buffets because the food is usually underdone when it first comes out and becomes overdone as it sits and waits to be picked on. However, even though I don't like Chinese buffets, because I visit them often (for my lovely bride) I've become quite experienced of the genre. And if you compare the Mikata buffet with other buffet' s, I must say, this one is as good as it gets. The crab Rangoon was small but amply filled with cheese. The ribs were juicy, and the peel and eat shrimp were top notch. As a bonus, they even offered asparagus instead of the usual broccoli or green beans. My favorite offering was the roasted duck. It was juicy without being fatty, absolutely the best I've had in a Chinese buffet. Even the ice cream tasted better than most. Price: Here is the best thing about Mikata. Where else can you get an all you can eat dinner for $17.00 per person! Even McDonalds will cost you more than that! The Bottom Line: As always my "customer so what" is would I come back? Knowing my wife's proclivity towards Chinese buffets, you can bet on it. However, because of the price and quality, she won't hear my usual complaints.

Customer service was great! The workers were so nice and friendly. The restaurant inside was also clean (but also completely empty). Tom Yum Chicken Soup: lackluster in flavor with raw vegetables. Tom yum soup is one of my favorite asian soups because of the rich bold tangy flavors mixed with plenty vegetables. This soup however was very far from that. Fried Rice with Chicken: very bland and nothing too exceptional. With additional salt and pepper sauce the rice wasn't too bad. The tomatoes also did not seem fresh. Chicken Lo Mein: in my husband's words, "lacking". Again with some additional seasoning it wasn't terrible.
