I woke up early yesterday to witness the eclipse which was an epic fail so I decided to create a WIN and visit Tulipan for a MUCH needed cortadito. It was my first visit since last Fall and I was pleasantly surprised to see the interior renovations. It is much brighter, cleaner, and organized. I really like the barrier to create lines and the new signs above the counter are great. These are far easier to view and more detailed to include some items in the case. I placed an order to go: a cortadito, a Vigilante, 2 croquettes, and a breakfast sandwich. For the sammie, I requested Cuban bread with scrambled egg, swiss cheese, and onions - pressed of course! I received fried egg instead but I have to say it was a blessing because the flavors and textures paired really well together. Not to mention, it was likely less messier to consume. My work squad seemed happy with their items too. Unfortunately, Tulipan doesn't offer any milk alternatives. It would be nice to see them offer this for those of us who don't mesh well with lactose. read more

The one thing I wanted to try most in Florida was authentic Cuban food. I've had a Cubano before in California but was told it doesn't compare. My cousin from West Palm Beach took me to his fav. I got the Cuban Sandwich and Cafe Con Leche. Both were delicious. I also asked the waitress to pick 3 of the most popular pastries or desserts. She said I had to get the Eclair, the Seniorita (Dulce De Leche), and Bread pudding, I got the other 2 but skipped the bread pudding. I asked for a 4th suggestion and she suggested the Guava Cheese. Traditional and cozy-- Cafe con leche was straight forward and delicious (no sugar). Been empanada was okay/not bad. Definitely fresh (same day). My friend had a guava pastry and a cafe con leche as well. Parking is a bit tight (they were quite busy for a Friday morning). I still went to see and they did luckily have some left. I tried both kinds of them and they were both okay. I like the crust better than the filling. Once my buddy and I found this place while working in town, we had breakfast here every morning. The pastries are amazing. I personally like the chicken empanada. I would also order a café cam Leche. Everyone that works here is really fast and processes are relying quickly. I don't think I ever was here longer than 15 minutes. The best bakery I have found since moving from Miami! Their portions for coffee (especially colada) are huge and the coffee itself is delicious! If you're also looking for a bite to eat I recommend a guava or spinach pastelito (guava pastry) or tostada (Cuban toast). I'm giving a one star because of their menu on Uber eats not only over priced and for add ons you have to pay extra such as lettuce, tomatoes. Cheese, etc. when you buy at the store you don't pay extra for this things since they come with the food already. Paying $13 for bread, meat, barely any Potato chips mayo and muster I don't think is fair. If you fix that with Uber eats I will change it to 5 stars since that is what this location is since the service and food quality is 5 stars. read more
