We stopped by here after lunch hoping to get something sweet for dessert. Unfortunately, the door was locked. We peered through the front window and saw a woman decorating an absolutely gorgeous cake. Luckily, she saw us and came and opened the door. She said, next time just knock loudly. We certainly will. All the pastries in the case looked so appealing that I didn't know what to get first. We wound up with 4 selections -- one apple; one meringue Napoleon, and two lemon tartlets. She boxed them and we paid. They were relatively inexpensive. We took the box to the car where we sat and each immediately ate one of the pastries. The apple one that I had was delicious. The dough was light and flakey and the thin apple slices were not only pretty to look at but flavorful. My husband liked his meringue one. We were both very happy. We look forward to trying the lemon tarts for our after dinner dessert. If they last that long (!) And to definitely coming back here again to try more of their bakery goods. read more

This Spanish bakery just north of the corner of Forest Hill Boulevard and Dixie Highway is a very magical place. Full of wonderment and goodness. As a family-owned bakery, there's certainly a very warm and personable vibe you receive upon entering through the door on Dixie. This is soon replaced by the overwhelming sense of not knowing what to order, based on all the tasty pastries viewed on the left-hand side through the clear displays. While I did not order any of their hot specials such as the paella or croquettas, I did order one of their dulce de leche meringue and a chocolate-creme eclair. Both of which were truly and wonderfully magical. They have limited table seating for those who are looking to order some lunch during the day, but it is very cozy and intimate where you feel you can order some good food and enjoy it without being rushed and on the go. Additionally, parking is found to the right of the establishment, but is limited, so you may have to look for spots on the nearby side streets. For the uninitiated, payment is cash only, so make sure you bring the green and leave the plastic in the wallet. But Napoleon is worth the effort, as their food is hand-crafted, made with love, and so good to return for more. read more

I could not wait to sit down and write this review!! After reading reviews on Yelp and a great recommendation from a friend at work, I just knew I had to try it! First of all, its located right on Dixie Hwy right before you reach Forest Hill Blvd heading south... I say this because I ended up passing the lot and had to make a u-turn--it's a whole thing!! But in all honesty, its worth the u-turn!! The exterior of the restaurant is uniquely designed and beautifully colored, draws you right in. Napoleon Bakery is family owned and they treat you like family once you walk in... To the right is a deli counter like display and a couple of dine-in. To the left are another row of display counters with amazing looking desserts and more options then you could imagine. I allowed Yon creative freedom and having heard that the roast beef is right out of the oven, that's what he chose! The sandwich was prepared on a fresh baguette and all the ingredients worked so well together. There is no actually menu, the House prepares amazing dishes and they are there for the taking for as long as supplies last :) There was an amazing pasta dish with mussels, scallops and shrimp-- I can't speak on its taste but it looked awesome. As I was leaving, I also offered creative freedom on the dessert choice and was pleasantly surprised to enjoy a delicious strawberry shortcake!! Napoleon bakery is in West Palm Beach and a bit of a drive from my place but so worth it. When I stepped inside I thought I was in Spain with the Spanish style interior. Very cute and cozy family owned bakery. I loved all the pastries and breads etc they had on their counters. A few tables to sit but mostly to pick up your goodies. The parking lot is behind the building. I had ate their different cakes before at multiple parties. My personal opinion is their fruit cake varieties is the best. They also make amazing tiramisu dessert as well. I wanted to order a cake for my brother in law's small wedding dinner. I did not want to go overboard with crazy decorations and custom cakes because the bride and groom wanted to keep everything simple. One of my friend's had gotten a two tier layer cake on her own wedding from them. Her style was great and I showed them the cake they made for her and wanted something similar. I went in person to talk to Maria who handles cakes and she told me it was possible to do that cake however they do not provide the ribbon or flowers I wanted on it. However, I can drop off the artificial flowers etc 2-3 days before wedding if I wanted that style. Considering how decently priced they are I felt like that's do able. They wrote down exactly what color I wanted, what fruits to include, what sort of cream etc. I would suggest picking the meringue cream instead of the whip cream because it lasts longer and made fresh in their kitchen. Overall, Maria and Elsa did a great job with the attention of detail. Elsa called me the day of the pick up to ask a question she was unsure of to make sure I was happy with the result. This is another little gem of a place in the WPB area. I have been meaning to go here for awhile! I had asked around & a local had suggested I try both Tulipan & Napoleon Bakery. They both have EXCELLENT COFFEE & PASTRIES. NAPOLEON has more robust offerings of PREPARED FOODS. The pastries are numerous & varied too. I had a Cafe con Leche & it was DELISH! The Potato & Mushroom Galette was DIVINE! I also purchased a cannoli & a little ramekin of Bread Pudding! BOTH YUMMY Service was friendly, kind, efficient & gracious. The Family are Basque which was really cool. I spent a year in Montpelier & went to Andalusia & Galician areas of Spain. Southern Europe is pretty gorgeous & the people are known for their gracious Hospitality. The decor of the space does make you feel like you are stepping into a bakery somewhere in Spain! Cash only, so plan ahead. Lots of Spanish food stables available such as Paella and Tortilla. I ordered the Tortilla with Chorizo in it and the Pasta with Chrorizo in it. Both were flavorful and everything here appears to be home made. Portions are plentiful, I took home leftovers from both items I ordered and left full. Casual friendly atmosphere too. I ordered my items and went to pay and was told to sit down and I can just pay after I eat. I was then promptly brought my food. Now I take road trips to come here The owners of this place are from Spain and own the only restaurant that have any reflection of the cuisine of Spain that I have seen in Florida (so far). If you come here, get ready for the authenticity of the Spaniards...Including some negative aspects The negative aspects are that there are few tables, they don't accept credit cards, and they take like a month off every year (as in the whole place is closed). Very Spanish. However the Paella and jamón serrano are excellent. I have quite literally dreamt of this place. I love this place and wish I lived closer. It is definitely old world, down to the European-style building. Don't expect the fastest service; as long as you don't expect this to be like a Dunkin Donuts, you will enjoy the realistic, human-centered pace and the natural flow that the owners have with their longtime customers. Besides the delicious sweets, every day a flurry of savory treats and dishes are on display for sampling and purchasing; these change every day. I've never been able to enter this shop without buying more than one item, and usually a bag of cookies- the kind my Sicilian grandmother used to make. Grandma is in town which means we look for bakeries in our travel about town. While at Cityplace in West Palm we decided to track down Napoleon Bakery which is south on Dixie Highway. This is a small quaint bakery that offers many Latin specialties along with a deli counter also for limited sandwiches. The owners were present as well as family and all items appeared fresh. The even provided samples of their products like cheesecake. Delicious ! We left with half a dozen items to try. Owners were more than fair in price. They even provided a free small item as it was frozen and they felt selling it was not fair. This is the best type of business, small and honest. The fresh merengue was the real thing and complemented the fresh pineapples, strawberries, blueberries, and kiwi. The freshest cake I have purchased. If I could give this place 10 stars I would. My boyfriend and I drove by this place many times and decided to finally stop in and try it out. We were so impressed by the food, the kindness of the owner and her son, and the authentic feeling this place gives we went about 3 times a week at one point. Yan, the owner's son who is such an amazing kind soul even gifted me a tiny worry doll before my travels. Many thanks to him and his mother for the love and care they have given and shown. Now as I am currently in Southeast Asia with all the amazing food, I must say the only place in South Florida I miss is Napoleons. With an authentic Spanish feel and food made with so much love, this place is one of the many few gems that exist in the area. I have recommend so many of my friends to this place and every single one of them has returned (even if the drive is over 30 minutes). I have never been disappointed with anything that is on the menu, from the papaya salads, pastas, sandwiches, deserts, to the small tapas that are displayed in the front everything has always been soooo delicious! Apparently Jim G over here who gave this place one star much be a grumpy person (many exist in south Florida) who must have been in a terrible mood that day. If anything isn't up to expectation, I'm sure a simple request to the staff would have solved his "soggy sandwich" issue. Amazing gem in Lake Worth! Had a literal foodgasm when I tried their Coconut Creme Brûlée with Powdered Sugar. Yes, I know it must be packing at least 1500 calories, but after one bite, you throw all your reservations to the wind. The Creme Brûlée tastes like pure sugary magic goodness and just melts perfectly in your mouth. Service-wise, the owner of this Spanish bakery is very nice and hospitable. This place was within a block of where we were staying, and after reading the great reviews, had to try it. It was a Sunday morning, and we got there within 20 minutes of them opening. Good thing we were there early - we ordered 2 orders of the seafood paella to go, and cleared out the rest of the pan! I couldn't pass up trying their guava and cheese pastelito, and also got a couple of their cookies. We took the food back to our rental, and immediately dug into the paella. It was the BEST paella I've ever eaten! I am seriously still dreaming about this goodness! The serving was generous, the rice tender, and there was a plentiful amount of mussels, scallops, shrimp - so much seafood! Such a great deal for the price, too! Seriously, it's the best meal we've eaten in Florida, so far. The guava and cheese pastry was also amazing. Guava is one of my favorite flavors, and I've been trying these pastelitos all over Florida, and so far, Napoleon Bakery has the best ones, hands down. The bakery is closed Monday and Tuesday, so didn't get a chance to return before we left the area, but will definitely have to make a special drive up from Miami soon. Love this place! WOW How do i even start? This place is absolutely magical. I discovered this bakery not too long ago, after moving to Florida on a search for local must-go-to's. The cute and tiny orange Spanish inspired building and outdoor decor caught my interest ever since i saw it for the first time driving down Dixie Hwy.I decided to give it a try during my lunch break one day and i fell in love. As soon as you enter the bakery, you instantly feel you are in either Europe or in Pastry heaven, whichever one you feel at that moment. A display full of pastries, pies, sandwiches, tapas, cured meats, cheeses, every kind of Paella you can think of, Pintxos, breads, veggie dishes, cakes and so much more. Everywhere you turn there's something delicious to look at. Did i mention everything homemade? The Gourmet Sandwich from Spain. I visited the bakery with my father. It has a quaint look and if it's super full, they will even bring you to a little patio in the backyard. It's a typical European style bakery and restaurant. Just coming from a visit from Spain, we had high expectations for the place, and we were very pleased with the results. The staff is friendly. It's family owned, and in fact, I believe they live in an apartment up stairs. Whatever you ask for, they will make it happen. I tried the Napoleon Special, and it was marvelous. It was a sandwich with chorizo, aged ham, manchego cheese, and lettuce and tomatoes. It felt like we were back in Spain. It's a friendly environment and the staff seems to remember their guests. It's a community gem, I've noticed, and I'll definitely go back.
