Carvana is Unethical, Dishonest, and a Nightmare to Deal With Carvana misrepresented the car they sold me from start to finish. Their listing showed photos and descriptions that claimed the car was in near-perfect condition, with refurbished wheels and only minor cosmetic flaws, which was perfectly acceptable. What I received was not the car in the condition they advertised, and they lied about the financing terms. Upon delivery: * The wheels/rims (not the tires) were deeply curb-rashed, scratched down to raw metal. * The interior body panels had significant scratches that were never disclosed. * Worst of all, there was white and purple spray paint all over the rear seats, seatbelts, and buckles, permanently staining the leather. I immediately documented everything with photos and showed Carvana their own original listing versus the actual condition of the car delivered minutes earlier. They refused to take any responsibility. Instead, they wasted hours of my life with dozens of phone calls, sending me to "evaluation" shops that they later admitted were inappropriate, and stringing me along without resolution. Carvana also flat-out lied about financing. They clearly explained that if you use their financing through Bridgecrest and pay the car off before the first payment is due, there would be no interest. I paid in full before the first due date, yet they still charged me over $200 in interest. When challenged, they began the run around process over, hours of time and dozens of phone calls. Clearly hoping to frustrate and exhaust you into giving up and then unethically, immorally stealing your money. The entire business is built on smoke and mirrors: employees are trained to sound "friendly," but they are powerless to actually fix problems. Smiles and apologies mean nothing when the company is fundamentally unethical, dishonest, and unwilling to do the right thing. Carvana advertises a seamless, stress-free experience. In reality, it's a nightmare of lies, wasted time, and frustration. I would absolutely never recommend Carvana to anyone. Avoid this company at all costs, they are unethical, immoral, and will not stand behind what they sell. In the sale and trade in, I never got the money owed and had to follow up several times. I had several calls 30 min long that got "disconnected". Everybody I spoke to was nice but the operations are an absolute mess. Nobody knew what to do or how to fix it. They'd say it was fixed and the money would still not show up. For the purchase, my car had dried vomit inside and outside the car. Looked like someone had partied before Hertz decided to sell it to Carvana. The back seatbelt also didn't work (wouldn't retract), so I had to fix it for a couple hundred bucks at a dealer after Carvana's "warranty" told me to go to a dealer because it wasn't covered. Icing on the cake was 4 months later, I received a ticket for 44 tolls amounting to $100 because Carvana issued my temp tags to my car AND another similar car. They weren't able to help so I ended up paying someone else's tolls for nearly 2 months. Carvana is a nightmare. Don't do it. read more

How times have changed. 2020 I was an early adopter to the Carvana mission and vision. Here it is 2025 and I looked to make another purchase through Carvana this time not even a trade to deal with. I can honestly state that in my lifetime buying cars this has been the single worst treatment and experience I have ever experienced. Nobody can help with a thing if you get a live person. I received my vehicle to my front door in 2020. In 2025 there was no option for delivery. I rented a vehicle one way $146 to drive 370 miles to Auburn, Wa. On the fifth day of my 7 day "free" trial I let an advocate know I did not want the vehicle due to a drivetrain issue that I found had been "repaired/replaced" on the 150 pt inspection (whatever that bs is). It has been over a week and on 7/31 I again drove 300 miles round trip to meet a driver to exchange said vehicle. 2-5pm window 3 hours away from my house. I received a text the driver would arrive before 4pm at 12:15pm. At 6:30pm after speaking to several advocates the driver let me know he would arrive around 7 pm. This while I was already driving g home in the vehicle I was to exchange. Mind you this is now about 1000 miles and 18 hours of my time dealing with a defective vehicle while having to bring my 4 year old along. Gas, time, extra fees added without being disclosed and falsely stating they do a 150 pt inspection. Now today nothing they can do!? The response drive car back to Auburn to return the defective vehicle and have to rent another vehicle to drive home. Almost 30 hours of my time, $300 in rentals, and $100 plus in gas to have no vehicle. Wtf and if you think of using Carvana. Do not!! They had a great idea in 2020 that ship has sailed. My daughter bought a car from Carvana last year. She's not been able to drive it since purchase and it has sat is now shop or another since she got it with no one able to diagnose the issue. The warranty through Silver Rock was worthless as the shop sat on it, threw parts at the issue and finally the warranty expired. When we called both Silver Rock and Carvan they both said there was nothing they could do because the warranty was expired, as if we had not been waiting for their shop to address the issue. The Hyundai dealership thinks they know what the issue is but now the repair is on us, a half a year of car and insurance payments later while it sat in one parking lot or another. The process might be convenient, but don't expect a trouble-free vehicle or any satisfaction from their warranty process. I recommend buying a car from another company, Carvana does not care about their customers when they have your money. 11/3/2024, I purchased a 2018 BMW X3 from Carvana for $28,560. The delivery day was rainy, & during my initial inspection, Dylan, the delivery rep, assured me that any issues found would be taken care of by Carvana. I noticed a chip in the black part of the right rear bumper as it came off the truck. Dylan indicated that Carvana would fix such issues. The vehicle had 13,860 miles, & based on Carvana's website, it appeared in excellent condition with a clean CarFax . Over the week, I discovered additional issues & reported them to SilverRock, the third-party company managing repair claims for Carvana's 100-day, 5,000-mile warranty. On 11/9, I texted a Carvana rep about those items & the rear bumper's paint not matching the body, with visible overspray & tape marks. I didn't officially file a claim within Carvana's 7-day window for reporting cosmetic issues, as I was leaving the country on 11/9. I did mention the bumper issues in a text on 11/9, within the 7-day period. Despite Carvana's claims of high standards, the car's condition did not reflect the price I paid. The car should have been thoroughly repaired by Carvana prior to sale. After returning to the US, I contacted Carvana on 11/29/2024, & was told the issue was not covered. I managed to chat with someone who acknowledged my mention of the bumper issue on 11/9 & promised to file a complaint for me. 12/18/2024 I took the car to Rick's Collision. They noted the car had been in a rear accident, the bumper cover had not been removed or replaced, & there was overspray on various parts. They estimated the repair cost at approximately $3,800. 12/19/2024, I contacted Carvana again. I was told that a "complaint" would not necessarily result in direct contact or resolution & that it was up to SilverRock to approve any repairs. After much back-and-forth with SilverRock, they refused to cover the bumper repair. Given these circumstances, and that the vehicle was misrepresented, I am left with significant repair costs. 1/17/2025 their executive complaint department called and told me I could trade the car back in for the appraised value if I wasn't happy; still wouldn't cover the repair. AVOID this company! Beware of cars that Carvana has stated they have repaired and do not hesitate to return the car if you find something wrong with it. Thursday morning no payment received. 35+ minutes in chat with actual agent to find out payment was not processed and now it takes another 3-5 business days for Carvana to write the check and then it will be mailed. Agent refused to escalate to supervisor. My bank will put a hold in a check. net, to wait over two weeks for payment is unacceptable... and violates what is advertised and what Carvana's literature states. I dropped off my Mercedes at Chandler 10 days ago!. Standing with the receiving agent, I received an email confirming the purchase by Carvana for the agreed price. A few minutes later, the receiving agent handed me the payment check and immediately drove the car off. I looked down at the check and the amount was less than the agreed price. I went into the on-site office and the manager told me Carvana made a mistake. He said he could not fix the mistake, but he would contact Carvana's accounting office to arrange for payment of the balance. He told me to deposit the original check, which I did on my way home. Thursday morning, I contacted Carvana customer service to confirm payment of the balance would be expedited. I was put on hold multiple times with no resolution. Later, I got an email saying I could pick up a check (that I assumed was for the amount of the underpayment) the following week at a location many miles from my home or Carvana would mail the check. The email said Carvana could not guarantee that I would get a mailed check within five business days! Carvana's tone was "take it or leave it." On Friday morning, I was planning to purchase a new car; however, my bank notified me that Carvana had dishonored the original check and my account was debited. I had no notice from Carvana that the original check would be voided. The result: (1) Carvana had my car, and I had no payment at all, and (2) I now had insufficient funds for the downpayment on a new car. In order to complete the purchase of a new car, I had to agree to increase the amount of the new car loan. All day on Friday, I tried multiple ways to contact Carvana, spending literally hours on hold with no resolution or explanation. When I called, various agents promised to get back to me with a solution, but I received no calls back. I also tried emails, chats, and text messages. No response from Carvana. No contact on Saturday. No contact on Sunday. Sunday morning, I found an e-mail address payment.resolution@carvana.com. I sent an email covering the issue and said I was seeking a resolution. Monday morning, I followed up with a copy of the email, but adding the various documents covering the Carvana offer, Carvana's confirmation of the sale and sale price, and my bank statement showing the deposit and subsequent dishonoring of the check by Carvana. I received a response late Monday evening from that email address saying that Carvana office was unable to assist and that I should call the Customer Care line!!!! On Monday morning, I once again called the Customer Care line and finally got someone who I could understand. She had no Idea from looking at her system that there had been any calls or issues. I updated her and said I was done trying to get this resolved and that I was already consulting with my attorney about filing a lawsuit. After about 30 minutes on hold, she advised me that the account team would be expediting a check by courier that would arrive before noon that day. The check arrived by courier, but it was not for the full amount owed. It just replaced the original cancelled check!!!! I got an e-mail stating that Carvana accounting was working on issuing a check for the balance due, but it would be probably Wednesday before Carvana could supply a tracking number and delivery date. Why was the couriered check not for the correct amount? At no time has Carvana disputed the amount owed. I'll be fair, finding a car was easy. Searching was easy. Found pretty much what we wanted. The process of actually buying the car was easy. We set up a date, uploaded the documents, etc. Everything was set! Then we got the email, the transaction was terminated, and the decision was final. Now this was after we had already added the car to our insurance, taken the credit hit (the hard credit pull), and offered the old car to a family member. Now we had to reverse everything! Recently bought a Toyota from Carvana, soon as I got it home I noticed it had an oil leak. Checked the engine oil and IT WAS EMPTY!! Could've blown the engine driving it home from the Carvana location. I don't know what knock-off mechanics they go to to fix their vehicles, but I do not advise going to their recommended mechanics if they're the ones that did this. I heard "I'm not sure why they would say that when our policy states...." At least 7 different times. They also double charged me for the transport fee, to which I was told they would have to "submit a ticket to have that refunded" which means they've held that payment for a week on top of the down payment and original transport fee I had already paid. I've been attempting to buy a vehicle from them for about a month now and was supposed to go pick up the vehicle finally today. No surprise, they have delayed that pick up another week. I am unable to resolve the issue with CARVANA and I have REQUESTED binding arbitration and Carvana Resolution Department REFUSES to allow me to file binding arbitration as is stated in my contract. They claim you MUST hire an attorney to file binding arbitration which is incorrect. They failed to provide me with payment information and never gave me a copy of the contract when my car was delivered. I had to request it several times before they eventually emailed me a copy. They do everything that they can to mess up your credit (my credit is excellent and my score is 820). I would NEVER recommend that anyone ever buy a car from CARVANA. I bought a car from Carvana and it has been a nightmare. They are a rip off. They sold me a Nissan Rogue which has a history of transmission problems, recalls, and multi hundred million dollar class action law suits. They told me to take my car with a bad transmission to an authorized repair shop in Austin which did not fix it. When I moved to Colorado, they told me to take it to another shop where it sat for a week and then they told me to take it to a Nissan dealership. They said it's 100% responsibility of SilverRock but none of SilverRock approved mechanics will look at sound system repairs. Carvana is notorious for scams! They offer you a fair trade in, typically at or above blue book trade in. You find a car to trade your vehicle in.
