This review is based on two different visits to the boutique - both times I had made an appointment on Cartier's website. In my first visit, I wanted to purchase the Trinity ring. The sales associate (I don't remember her name) seemed bored and unengaged. I've had much better experiences with the Cartier boutique in Chicago and Philadelphia and I was overall disappointed by the experience, even though I did buy the ring. It just didn't feel like a very special experience, and at Cartier's prices, they really should be. My second visit, I went in with my husband as he was going to buy me a bracelet as an anniversary gift. Our SA Elisa was wonderful to work with - she was excited to find the perfect gift to fit my style, and it was fun trying on different options with her. I appreciated her honesty and it felt like we were really shopping together, versus the first visit where it felt like I was shopping and the SA was just there. Elisa helped me land on the small model Juste un Clou with diamonds, and she was happy to include perfume samples, a travel case, and a cleaning kit with my order (this is not always the case in luxury jewelry boutiques). I mentioned that I'm interested in purchasing a watch for my husband, and she showed us some models without being pushy at all. I really appreciate this in an SA, and we actually ended up going back to the boutique to buy the watch that same day. Good customer service goes such a long way, and I'm happy to have found an SA I will continue to work with at this boutique. I wish all of the SAs at this location could be as wonderful! read more

Unfortunately the poor experience second time around completely overshadowed the initial positive experience. My partner and I got the Cartier love ring which we adored, so he went back to get me the Juste Un Clou for Christmas. I loved the bracelet but the sizing was incorrect, so before the 30 days was up, we went to exchange for the size (bracelet was never worn and virtually untouched, only tried on once to realize we needed to exchange). Upon entering the store, we were NOT warmly greeted. We simply said that we needed to exchange for a size, the sale associate said out loud in an exasperated tone while rolling her eyes, "I GUESS I'll do this..." Keep in mind that this was right around the holidays, we were treated like dirty gum stuck on your shoe. The sales associate took us to a room where she barely made eye contact, did not offer any refreshments for us, and when exchanging for the size, she also did not offer to wrap the new JUC in the signature Cartier packaging. Instead, she gave us the bracelet unwrapped and mangled in the previous packaging. This was a sad excuse of an experience for a supposedly high end jewelry store. We walked out in disbelief... suffice it to say that this left a particularly sour taste in our mouths. I'm not sure if this is commission based and so exchanges don't yield the same benefits for sale associates, but that does not mean people should be treated this way in any capacity. This experience completely dampened our high regards for Cartier. For something that we were initially excited and enthusiastic about, we left feeling completely belittled and utterly disappointed. read more

If I could give zero stars I would. The most horrific customer service of my entire life. The phone systems don't work and it's almost impossible to get through to the store. Carmen(Manager) promised to call me back when we spoke on 8/22. She never called me back. Then during the week of 9/3, I left 3 messages for Kristen(Director) and she never called me back. I spoke with Lindsey on that Friday and she promised me that Kristin would call me back the following week. Nobody from the store ever called me back. I came in on Saturday 9/13 to pick up my watch from a service repair and the gentleman who assisted me could not have been any more rude if he wanted to. No hello's, no thank you's, no we appreciate your business. This was the worst customer service experience from start to finish's in my entire life and I will never walk into this store ever again. We had the most professional and knowledgeable help today at Cartier, and our parents were ready to purchase the ring almost immediately. The sales person Wayne helped show us the most perfect size, and understands every single collection like the back of his hand. Wayne was patient and hospitable with the tea, chocolates and water, and it was a great way to start off the new lunar year. We are grateful he took his time counting the cash and sharing which materials and styles would match our LOVE bangle the best. This was by far the worst experience I've ever had. I was genuinely shocked by how I was treated--it's not the kind of behavior you'd expect from a high end boutique. I'm not sure if the employees work strictly on commission, however that's no excuse for the way I was handled. I came in to exchange a watch my wife got me for my birthday because it was a bit too small. When it was finally my turn, the sales associate treated me as if I was wasting her time. She claimed they didn't have the larger size in stock and told me to just order it online. That didn't sit right with me, so I asked to speak with a manager. Once I explained the situation, the manager checked their inventory and, unsurprisingly, both sizes I wanted were actually in stock. For reference, we made an appointment online (this being during covid) to ensure that we had a dedicated associate working with us when we arrived at the store. We did have to wait a few minutes, but that's understandable. Appointments are generally slated for 45 minutes, and speaking on behalf of mine, it lasted about 90! The store on Newbury, is nowhere near the grandeur of the Cartier Mansion in NYC, but it's limited art deco style is still very nice. I think the customer service fell a bit short of the Mansion as well, but overall we had a great experience shopping at Cartier on Newbury. Laurie, our associate, tended to mine and my wife's needs, perfectly. She was diligent enough to hold onto the last Santos watch, even though I was a bit on the fence in the beginning. Someone came in minutes afterwards inquiring about it and their associate said the last one was on my wrist, thus preventing them from purchasing it while I was making my decision. She eventually secured the sale after working with me through some strap issues (I have small wrists, and the default extra strap did not fit my wrist) as well as resizing the bracelet for me. Someone did mention that water was only offered at the end of the transaction, which happened to me as well. This was very different from my experience in New York where we were offered sparkling water and swiss chocolates immediately upon sitting down with our associate--and we didn't even make a purchase that time! For now, I'm extremely pleased with my Santos, and can see myself returning here if I decide to add a Tank to mine or my wife's collection in the future. read more

Went to Cartier today to get new strings for our bracelets and purchase earrings. The girl in the entrance was very rude from the start. Her attitude was negative the entire time we were there. Then, at the end, I asked her if she would give me a little extra string to take home. She very rudly said no, they don't do that here. I then told her that the Cartier stores in NYC, Miami, Beverly Hills and SD have never said no when I've requested it. She then said, I can check with my manager if you want. Let me preface this by saying I have been shopping this brand since the mid 1970's. While I normally shop Cartier @ flagship Madison Ave Mansion... I decided to check out this Boston location since I still had Christmas money to spend. I'd been here before... many times in fact- with excellent service. I arrived on Saturday, December 28, 2019 This time, however, I was greeted and told to "let us know if you'd like to see something and we will put you on the waitlist." My immediate response was that I don't NEED anything enough to be placed on a waitlist to have something taken out of the case. I was so very shocked to hear that customers are treated this way in Boston. What happened to the older way of treating a customer to a seat or a glass of water/champagne or coffee? Why would you not speak to a customer as if they were the only person in the shop? Why would this brand allow a 20 something young women to say such a thing to someone with thousands to spend. I understand that salespeople are not always immediately available to show merchandise. This review is a long time coming. Five years ago my husband purchased the LOVE bracelet for me after wanting one for 20 years. This purchase was significant for us but even more meaningful. My husband actually purchased the bracelet via phone! The beautiful purchase arrived in an incredible box...and it was too small. We knew there were sizes, but chose the wrong one. We called Cartier and they were incredibly helpful, wanting to talk to me directly to ask what I was looking for in fit. We chatted for a bit and their customer service is exceptional! Natasha Dietrich was amazing! It was my first time at a Cartier store and she was very pleasant and patient with me. My fiancé and I went to purchase our wedding bands. She took her time and answered all of our questions which made the whole experience wonderful. My fiancé's ring was not available in store but was accesible to order to the store. During this process Natasha kept him posted on the status and it came in super quickly. We are so happy with our purchases and great customer service that we plan on returning to the store again. I recommend to request Natasha if you're planning to visit the Boston location! Side Note: All COVID-19 precautions were taken in the boutique. It is currently by appointment only to manage the amount of people in the boutique at a time. Not sure how to review a boutique but I will try to share with you my personal experience shopping there. I first shopped at this Cartier around the early summer of 2011, when I was looking for an engagement ring for my GF. The sales associate, Jeannette Wong, greeted us, and took the time to introduce a variety of different options. She was extremely knowledgeable and helpful, and eventually we decided to get the classic cut of the Cartier's diamond ring. The whole process was pleasant, and we didn't feel being pushed into more expensive options at all. What really impressed me was what happened post my first purchase. Jeannette followed up with me on whether my GF liked the ring and told me that whenever we were in this area, we should stop by and get the ring cleaned and polished for sure. We also received some informative Cartier magazines outlining their new and classic products. When we got married, we went to this store again to get two wedding bands and Jeannette had them engraved with the dates of our marriage. Given that our home state is about 2 hours away by flight, we didn't really have easy access to this store (there are NO Cartier in our home state). However, I have been able to call up Jeannette to order some gifts for my wife, such as earrings and pendants. This Cartier store always uses Fedex next day to ship the stuff to me, so it is both efficient and secure. Fast forward to the summer of 2017, we got a warm greeting card from Jeannette to celebrate our five year anniversary. Now that we are in a area with a Cartier store nearby, we don't have to fly to Boston any more. She introduced the local store manager to help us, which we really appreciate. Cartier is definitely one of the more expensive brands out there. But the service of the store, the care and friendship from the associate Jeannette, as well as the styles of their offerings, all deserve thumps-up. I highly recommend this store and thanks their wonderful staff for making our experience unique and memorable! read more

This weekend a friend and I had went to Cartier in Boston on Newbury Street. My friend went to see to have her ring adjusted that she bought 8 months ago. Well as soon as we walked in the Cartier store. We were getting looks from the toy security guard. When we walk towards the end of the store the security had walked over to our area it's amazing Boston hasn't changed one bit. Now coming from Connecticut 2 brown people and if it wasn't for the black gentleman that seen us and help with service I don't think we would have been serviced. My fiancee and I had purchased antique Cartier platinum wedding bands from a third party jewelry store and needed to have them authenticated. I went to the Cartier store on Newbury St. and met with a sales associate. My sales associate, Amie B., was quite helpful and informed me that my platinum wedding band bore the old exterior hallmarks that showed that it was made in Paris for export some time ago and my fiancee's platinum eternity band was an older version of a modern design. After assuring me of their authenticity, I needed to have my wedding band sized and engraved. She measured my ring size and took down what I wanted engraved. She quoted me a price to perform these services and gave me a receipt for pick up. Throughout the process, Amie B. was professional, available, and seemed genuinely interested in my satisfaction with the result. I cannot speak regarding the experiences that others may have had with a single point of contact, but my experience has been wonderful and I appreciated the personal nature of the transaction. I suppose that the overall satisfaction that I felt with my entire experience at Cartier was that after quoting me a price for sizing and engraving my wedding band, they did not require payment for either when I went to pick it up. They honored their piece and performed all the services that I required FREE OF CHARGE. It is rare to find dedication to service such as this and I would like to thank Amie B. for her efforts. I have been to and shopped at plenty of luxury stores to know that appearances matter. For a long day of walking around in the city, I chose to wear jeans , hoodie and sneakers. It did take time for the SA to come assist me, as she probably assumed I was going to stare at the display pieces and walk away. She was courteous when showing the pieces , and did seem to know her stuff.. but I wouldn't call her warm or exceedingly interested in the interaction . Only at the time of billing was I offered a beverage ( as compared to a fashionably dressed woman who walked in after me and was immediately tended to )... and yet- the water I asked for never arrived! We had already checked out the Cartier store in NY but the Boston store blew us away! The service was phenomenal - they were patient, offered great advice on sizing and since the ring we liked was not available in my fiance's size they offered to special order it. We were unable to go back to get the ring for a couple of weeks and though the store followed up promptly to let us know the ring had arrived there was no hard sell to come in and pick it up. He reassured me that if the ring didn't fit or didn't want it, I can bring it back and get a full refund within 30 days provided that there was no damage and had my receipt with me. We purchased our wedding rings from Cartier, and we were very disappointed with the service. There is an intense focus on having one salesperson serve you; that focus never benefited us in any way, but it caused us inconvenience time and time again. The salesperson who "claimed" us by giving us her card was never in when we stopped by. In her absence, other salespeople acted unwilling to let us make a purchase, unwilling to answer our questions when one of our rings was delayed, and completely unwilling to call us when our rings both finally arrived. Our salesperson, Natalie, never invested the time necessary to understand what it was that we had bought or when we needed it by, even though we provided this information on several occasions. She had so little familiarity with our order that she tried to have my fiance try on my ring. She even called us to come in when only one of our rings was in, only realizing that the other was missing when we were in the store asking for it. We have experienced much better service at much more affordable stores, and we are completely mystified by Cartier's insistence on having only one person serve us even though the result of this was always bad service. read more

I by no means wish to be derogatory, though after my recent experience here I can't help but think: why is it some people working in retail act like you cannot afford their merchandise, but they can. I know it's Cartier -- I walked in with this knowledge and full awareness of the price -- you don't need to act haughty and pretentious as a means of convincing me your merchandise is of value. Yet this is exactly as she acted taking every opportunity to say that Cartier is an elite brand, how some of the other items we referenced as examples of the style we were in search of were not helpful to her bc "this is Cartier, we don't sell common." Is this necessary information? Did you take the opportunity to learn your customer or to (once again) not only attempt to belittle your client to somehow elevate Cartier's image? Thank you but, my fiancé owns (and is wearing) a Cartier watch. I've got a $5K camera strapped to my shoulder, stop making assumptions. Most importantly, when a customer tells you they don't like something please don't then attempt to tell them why they 'should' like it or reiterate its 'selling' points. It's overtly presumptuous and terribly condescending. Really, as if your taste is somehow superior? It's audacious and in poor taste. Cartier management should take note of the way their employees (particularly the ones with M as a first initial) actually sour the customer's experience, I know their merchandise certainly deserves salesman of equal caliber. read more

The staff is superb as long as you go in DON'T call and expect to get service. as the store is an hour drive from where I lived and as I was looking for something in particular I thought it would be best to call. I called told the woman what I was looking for she took my name and number and said that they didn't have any in-stock but would check to see if any were available in the system and get back to me. Anyway I am updating my review because after publishing my previous review Cartier stepped up to the plate and agreed to repair my engagement ring free of charge. Michelle (the store manager) assured me that they were working behind the scenes on my behalf to get it done. They have also agreed to repair the band on my Cartier Love Watch. I would give them five stars if it hadn't taken two months and multiple phone calls to get it done but they did indeed get it done so congrats Cartier on stepping up to the plate to prove that you are of the caliber that you profess to be. My husband worked with Cartier to find my engagement ring. He had a great experience, and they helped him find exactly what I wanted. My only complaint was that they convinced him to get a larger size that what I had sized my finger to, so I couldn't wear my ring for a week or so after he proposed until it was resized. I have had the worst customer service in the Cartier shop on Newbury St. Boston. I am so disappointed about this. I really do not recommend to buy there. I and my husband went to the shop and order a pair of love collection platinum wedding bands and with their price of 2175 for each one, which is 50 $ less then the price on the website. Since they do not have the sizes we what, they asked to wait for two weeks. Two weeks later, they called and told us they got the bands, but we have to pay the price change happened couple days ago. We were so angry, and we argued with some compensate, such as gift card or some gift. Their manager agreed. However, when we finally got the wedding bands, there is no gift, which is another shock for us. How such a big brand lost their words to customers. So we call the manager again, and she told us that an assistant will call us in two days to discuss about the gift. However 10 days later, again no one called. Then I have to call again, I can feel very obviously that the manager is avoiding my call, and the assistant just offered us a photo album to compensate our 100 dollar loss with very upset attitude. I really can not imagine such a good rate store would give us so much disappointment . In a world, I am absolutely disappointed about Cartier, expecially the Cartier shop on Newbury St. Boston. The staff here was fantastic - even though we were not making a huge purchase by Cartier standards we were made very welcome.
