Not two weeks after the purchase, it slipped off my wrist due to a faulty clasp. Numerous friends experienced the same situation with loose latches, defective latches that needed repair. Luckily they noticed before it fell of their wrists. David Yurman knows of the design flaw based on the number of reported repairs yet they don't care. He guided us in the right direction, and we found two unique pieces that we love. John was also easily accessible via text, helping me swap out a ring size and keeping me updated throughout the process. Even when John wasn't available, the other staff members were kind and professional, which was a refreshing contrast to other stores we visited where the staff seemed uninterested in helping. This store is absolutely horrible! Quality of items has gone so downhill. I went through multiple bracelets that kept on breaking. The latest repair was so bad that you could see where it was made with a naked eye. They did exchange for another bracelet, but when i tried to add to insurance my jeweler could it authenticate. When I called the store the manager Jack was half yelling at me. Said there is nothing he can do since original bracelet was not purchased from them (it was purchased from Nieman Marcus). Seriously? Not even an attempt to make it right for the brand or the customer, instead I got an earful from him. I can see why people believe the staffs are snotty. In some extent, all luxury stores' staffs are snotty by nature. I was in this store twice. The first time I went in, all the staffs were busy. Even when they were done, they went to the back instead of greeting me. 10 minutes later, a lady helped me. We went through rings, neckless, and bracelets. She was very patient. Anyway, I picked up a bracelet for myself, but they didn't have my size. A few days later, I went back to pick up my bracelet. The lady who helped me was not there. Dizzy, ditzy staff! I've been to about a half dozen Yurman shops so I'm familiar with the staff. Dropped a ring off to have a repair done. They were to replace the stone. They lost it. A few weeks later, I get a call saying "we found it, if you want the stone replaced it'll be *insert amount*".. When I tell them, not only myself but someone else has already been over this and ok'd it, they act like it's the first time they heard of it. Keep notes, people! A girl called me a couple times to help me with the issue and her accent was so thick I couldn't understand a word she said. Seeing she's calling from the Boston shop and I said "I'm so sorry but I can't understand the question or what you said, with your accent" you would think they'd hand the phone to someone more local, that I can understand. And yes, I know she was based in Boston.. I spoke of her in the shop and the girl I spoke with said "oh I know her, she's right in back". A month after the "ok, do the repair", I found myself in Boston again and decided to stop in. I spoke with the girl working, who said "what is the piece of jewelry", I told here and she quoted me a price in the thousands. I'm thinking "wow for a repair that's steep". I ask when can I expect it back and she says "well, we have to get it from another store". Confused I ask "they do the repairs in a store". Her "oh you sent it out?" "you don't want to buy the ring?". DUH! I told her the backstory from the beginning.. and then I had to retell it. Eventually I got my ring back and the replacement stone was beautiful. It shouldn't have taken 5 months, many phone calls, and much confusion on both ends, though. Staff is indeed friendly, but not exactly with it. Side note at Angel M. I wear about 4/5 pieces at a time and I've yet to get called out for being "tacky". I also don't feel it has a dungeon atmosphere. It's a little darker than other Yurman shops but the lighting puts the focus on the jewelry and makes it easier to focus on just that vs the surroundings. read more

The people in this store are just wonderful. I was never a huge Yurmanite, as I know many people are, but I found myself inheriting a significant amount of David Yurman jewelry. The staff in this store were very helpful in helping me identify what exactly I had, and sizing (and later repairing) some of the pieces. No pretention, no pushiness, just genuine friendliness. And I never purchased anything. (Not that $40 for a repaired clasp, or $60 for a re-sizing is something to sniff at). Also, timing for sizing/repairs have been much faster than quoted (probably to give them a bit of wiggle room). Most recently, they told me 12 weeks for a repair . . . my necklace came back in a week. Now, having spent a lot of time in this store, I'm a huge fan of some of the newer pieces - such as the larger gemstoned rings. Serious bling. If they only allowed trades. read more

I have such mixed feelings about this place because I had two completely different experiences. I was interested in purchasing a ring for myself as a 30th birthday present. The first time I went into the store was more to decide on color, sizing, etc, and I wasn't planning on making a purchase. Cheryl could not have been more helpful. Based on that experience alone, I would've given the business five stars. I finally made a decision about my purchase and had gotten myself hyped up over it. The day before my birthday, I returned to the store. I smiled at the employee standing by the entrance, but he offered no assistance. I walked over to the counter where the ring was. Next to me were two ladies who looked like regular customers and were being helped. I was standing in front of the case for a couple of minutes looking at some of the other jewelery (because I am indecisive). The employee from the entrance walked behind the counter next to the associate helping the ladies. I finally looked up at him to ask a question, and he said "Oh I'm so sorry! I thought you were catering." They were having an event that night, but really? Was it the way I was dressed or looked? I had just come from my office job. She was nice and answered all my questions, but something just felt awkward. let me start by saying that i love david yurman jewelry. i have a few gorgeous pieces, and love to browse the current inventory. a few weeks ago, my fiance and i went into the copley location, as we were interested in purchasing a piece we had seen online. after waiting for over 10 minutes to be acknowledged, we finally were told that we should wait until the next clerk was available. finally, the associate came over and began to help us. we had our eye on one particular piece, and when she pulled my size from the back it was clearly dirty and discolored - and the clean display piece was right there to compare! when i mentioned this, she completely denied it and told me that i wasn't looking at it properly. despite this experience, i still love the jewelry, but will not be going to the copley location. read more

Went in to the Copley after speaking to a sales associate on the phone, John, who was fantastic. Upon arrival, John was assisting another customer so we looked around the other counters until he was available. Keep in mind I am a 19 year old female in the store with my sister (28). Not one, but two other parties were welcomed and assisted before anyone acknowledged my presence. Unfortunately, in this price range, I expected to be looked over due to my age, I let it go. Finally after about 20-25 minutes a woman asked if we were being helped, we responded no and were so fed up that I asked to continue waiting for John. About 10 minutes later she came back and again said she would be willing to start us off, I let her know I had spoke with John on the phone and would like him to earn the commission on my purchase. Only then, once she realized we were serious about a purchase, did she offer us champagne as every other party in the store was offered upon arrival. This woman judged us entirely wrong and was just a stuck up sales associate - you never know someone's story. If there was another David Yurman store in the Boston area I would have let her know how awful her customer service was and took my business to another store. Now for the good - John was absolutely great! Ask for him if you venture into the store. He was so knowledgeable about not only their stock, but their entire inventory in the company and showed us tons of options to satisfy my indecisive thoughts. He was extremely honest and even encouraged me to purchase a less expensive stone. It was nice to know John was trying to sell me a piece of jewelry to fit my style and appearance rather than just trying to make an expensive sale. My husband bought a ring with a mother of pearl stone here about a year ago. David Yurman boasts free cleaning of their products and actually recommends it to cleaning it yourself. I brought my ring here and asked to have it cleaned, and it came back to me wet and possibly dirtier than before. If a store claims the only way to have their jewelry cleaned is to have it done there, then it should at least be better than I could do at home with a Q-tip and cold water. I really like this store. I think the simple displays are easy to navigate and I enjoy the unique pieces. I am not a gaudy type of girl nor do I subscribe to bigger is better. I want jewelry that you cannot find in every store and that is simplistically beautiful and unique. The saleswoman that helped us the last time was pleasant but real. She didn't judge us and picked out pieces based on my likes/dislikes. We found a sapphire and sterling silver ring that was exactly what I didn't know I wanted. The customer service in this boutique is surprisingly good. I bought a pair of cufflinks to give to my fiancé on our wedding day. I procrastinated a bit, whoops, so I ordered a pair online at first. They arrived damaged. While the online customer assistance gave me a hard time about exchanging a product in the store - they wanted me to send the product back and pay for shipping again, etc. - I went to the store on the off-chance I could do an even exchange and not have to repay for shipping. I absolutely love shopping at the David Yurman Store at Copley. Bonnie is my "go to" gal, but Deanna is also wonderful. They remember me from visit to visit and are never pushy at all. The entire staff always makes eye contact and smiles and makes me feel welcome. I'm really shocked to hear negative comments about the staff since I have never seen them be anything but charming. Sometimes I do have to wait a long time because the store is crowded, but I always see it as a chance to visit my "friends" in the counters and to dream about the pieces I might someday own. I received a beautiful David Yurman piece for my birthday this past November. Within two weeks the stones were rattling and I brought it back to the store. The sales person was so attentive and she said "oh my. Yes this needs to be fixed." Two weeks later I got the ring back and within four days the stones were rattling again as if the diamonds were to fall out. I brought it back. They said that they would send it to the David Yarman store in New York City to get it fixed as the last time they sent it to a local jeweler. The ring was gone for a month and it came back fixed. Within two weeks the stones were rattling again, I brought it back to the store and asked to speak to the manager. I waited about 25 minutes as the manager was out and the assistant manager was on the phone. When I finally met the manager she said "well if you're looking to do an exchange, you don't really need to see a manager all of our customer service representatives can do a simple exchange." She was so chilly and rather tone deaf and that I wanted to speak to why this happened three times in a row. She said "oh the ring isn't broken, Some of our stones just rattle like that." I said "well why did they send it out the last two times saying they were certain it was broken?" Unfazed she offered very little in the way of explanation and very little as to why this piece was going out and coming back in the first place. If it wasn't broken why did they send it to the David Yurman store in New York for a full month? I was surprised that such a high-end boutique would have such a laissez-faire response without any warmth or seriousness. I most recently was in on Friday and purchased a ring and a bracelet. When I got home I noticed a slight scuff on the bracelet and wrote the salesperson Josh and email. Not only did he order a new one and is having mine replaced, but since I live a good distance outside the city, he arranged shipment. Fantastic service!!
