I had visited a couple of more mainstream places before going to BRAG and meeting with Ani, the experience itself was worth going. They truly care about the personalization of the ring, aren't afraid to let you know what makes sense and what might not, not to mention the ring itself coming out gorgeous! Thank you again, Ani and BRAG. read more

My wife was well aware that I was going to propose, and we both loved the idea of "designing" the engagement ring together. After scouring the web for jewelers in the Boston area, we decided to reach out to BRAG to make the ring, which turned out to be a wonderful decision! We had already gotten a diamond online, and wanted to incorporate some leaf motifs in the engagement ring setting. Ani was very attentive to jot down notes on the style that we were looking for, and made some drawings on the spot. She was able to show us a couple of wax prototypes at our subsequent meeting for us to choose from. When I finally went to pick up the finished engagement ring, I was absolutely stunned by how beautiful it was. My wife, of course, had to wait until the moment of proposal, but she loved it beyond words, and so did every friend and colleague who saw it. After this fantastic experience, we decided to go back to BRAG for our wedding bands, again with leaf motifs. They designed a band that perfectly complements the engagement ring for my wife, as well as a matching band for me. The end products are again absolutely stunning! If you are looking for a jeweler to make your special ring, look no further. The design skills and craftmanship of this 7th-generation jeweler is of the highest caliber. We couldn't recommend them enough! read more

I found the rave reviews and checked out BRAG when I was first picking out an engagement ring for my wife. I didn't want to go online or to a big box store for a luxury item like this. I wanted a real person I could work with to get something done just right while helping me through the process. Best decision ever! The care and attention to detail in every interaction with Ani, and in every piece the shop makes, was exactly what I was looking for. They custom-made a beautiful platinum ring with a cool twisting band that my wife adores. We came back for our wedding rings a few months later and they continued to exceed our expectations! Ani was super accommodating as we talked for a while about different styles and what would complement the engagement ring. When we walked out of the shop with the finished rings about a week before the wedding, we realized that we had a few too many stones set on the band and it didn't look quite right. We called shortly after, met with Ani, dropped off the ring, and they had it looking perfect less than a week later, in time for the wedding. I couldn't believe it! They really understood how important these details were to my wife and I. Their commitment to making sure you get exactly the ring you want is unmatched. Overall they did fantastic work, and I'd highly recommend them to anyone! read more

Shopping for my engagement ring with BRAG, even during a pandemic, was a fun and painless experience. My boyfriend and I decided just over a month ago to look at engagement rings together because I'm extremely picky. After countless hours of looking for settings on the internet, I'm so glad I found BRAG's Yelp page. Their setting designs are beautiful, unique, and documented in high quality pictures. Compared to other jewelers in the Boston area and online retailers like Blue Nile and James Allen, BRAG's settings are, to me, by far the most beautiful and pay the most attention to detail. Plus, seeing them in person with Ani in a sanitized and COVID-respectful space was crucial -- something we couldn't have done with the online retailers we considered. When we met with Ani, she let us know that we could choose between natural and lab diamonds for the center stone. That was amazing to hear! I was set on getting a lab diamond due to its cost-effectiveness and the ethical uncertainties about diamond mining. Other jewelers we talked to don't supply lab diamonds and even tried to talk us out of getting one. After I picked out the setting, my boyfriend worked with Ani to pick out a lab diamond. All I had to do was wait for the surprise. Three days ago, he proposed! I was really surprised the ring was ready so quickly. I love it so much. We'll definitely be going back for our wedding bands. read more

BRAG is amazing!! We were referred to BRAG by friends of ours and are SO happy we worked with Ani for engagement ring, wedding bands and wedding gift (tennis bracelet). First, Ani is such a lovely, welcoming, knowledgeable person. Second, the quality, expertise, professionalism, and stunning pieces are unmatched. My now husband worked with BRAG to design my very unique and stunning engagement ring and from there there was no question where we would go for the rest of our jewelry for the wedding (and now beyond). Thank you for your care, personalized service and for making our shopping experience easy, yet fun. And for making all my jewelry sparkle when we come in to shop :) read more

Ani and her team are simply incredible! For anyone looking for vintage-inspired jewelry with intricate metalwork, there is truly no better place than BRAG. I visited so many jewelry shops when we were looking for my engagement ring, but couldn't find anything that fit my vision. The minute I walked into BRAG, I was impressed by the ring designs along with Ani's expertise. She does a wonderful job asking questions to understand the nuances of what you want and the three of us had a fun time designing a custom ring together. If you want to work with a true family business, BRAG is the real deal. Ani made me feel welcome from the moment I spoke to her on the phone to make an appointment, to the moment that I walked into the door of their pleasant shop in the historic Boston Jewelers Exchange Building on Washington Street. Her brother Sevag quickly made me feel confident that he is a diamond and fine jewelry expert. I learned so much about what is important in understanding diamonds during my visit! But the greatest TREASURE of BRAG is their father Raffi. I will forever be grateful for having the opportunity to meet him, see a true "old school" master at work, and enjoy the lovely interaction between him and his children. What a lucky man to have such a legacy. If you like doing business with people who love what they do, look no further. read more

I initially started my engagement ring search unsure of where to go as everyone I asked seemed to have a different favorite person or jeweler. I found BRAG via the Yelp machine and couldn't be happier with the result. Ani was a pleasure to work with as I selected the setting and diamond over a few visits. She explained everything I needed to know and more. Although I never met Sevag in the initial selection process, I want to say he's also great to talk with and did a phenomenal job with my fiancé's ring. When I picked the ring it up, it absolutely exceeded my expectations. After I proposed, my fiancé and our friends/family could not give enough compliments on the ring and how beautiful it was. We also had to get the ring re-sized which was such an easy process. We came in on a Saturday (Dec 21) and they even had it done before Christmas Eve! I can't thank Ani and Sevag enough for everything! We'll for sure be back for wedding bands. I'll definitely recommend BRAG to anyone and everyone. read more

We heard about them through a friend and after our first visit with Ani, we never considered going anywhere else. Not knowing exactly what we wanted, she helped guide us through the different options and ultimately towards the rings we chose and absolutely love! When it comes to the second biggest decision in your life (not to mention a sizable financial decision), it requires a bit of research. Sure, you may get that referral from your trusty friend. But for people like me, who really dive in and do their research for something like this, you start to ask yourself questions around "what is fair and reasonable pricing for all those variables they call the '4 C's'? And should I go with recognizable brands such as that "blue box company" that has been in the diamond business for over a century? (Answer to the latter: no. Their ad spend and marketing/branding ploy results in higher margins. You're essentially paying for the pretty blue box." I spent a good solid 2-3 months to scope the industry out- reading reviews, visiting jewelers, learning more than I ever need to about diamonds and why the heck they're so expensive (thanks a lot De Beers...). Only one place had me going back to visit more than once- that was BRAG. Not only was the staff friendly and well-versed in the industry, but their custom made-in-house design settings were stunning. On top of that, they've got a great range and selection of diamonds that have all the information you need as to where/when they were purchased and their original source. One of the biggest reasons I went with them (besides the quality of their rocks and selection of settings) is because they truly are prioritizing the customer experience. I can definitely say that they're not in the business to sell a product or service to you. In fact, they have no need to be sales-y. Every time I go, they're always busy. And I would argue that Sevag works way too much already!! But upon my first visit, I could already tell their focus was to educate you on making the right decision. There was no pressure like I felt from other local jewelers and some of the bigger chains that the salesperson's need to hit a quota gets transferred to the customer experience. Ani and Sevag do an amazing job running the family business and we're so happy to have gone with them for both the engagement ring and the wedding bands. Just see for yourself some of the fine work that the crew procured :) (no, not a professional photo. That's an old iPhone camera's work. That's just how dazzling they are!) read more

My husband and I could not have had a better experience with Boston Ring and Gem (BRAG)! He worked with Sevag a few months before he proposed to create the engagement ring of my dreams. Sevag offered plenty of suggestions for the ring design, and was extremely respectful of his budget. I met both Sevag and his sister Ani when I went in to get my engagement band resized, and again when we both returned before our wedding to purchase our beautiful wedding bands. We waited until the very last minute to have our bands created (oops!) but they were extremely accommodating and able to put a rush on both rings and have them ready for our big day. The quality of their jewelry is exquisite, and both of us would recommend BRAG and this brother sister duo 100 times over! read more

When it came time for my husband to find my dream engagement ring he went straight to BRAG. He had heard wonderful things from colleagues and wow they did not disappoint! I had dreamt of my engagement ring for over the 12 years my husband and I have been together and I can be quite picky. He told Ani exactly what was important to me and they created the most spectacular engagement ring. It's quality it breathtaking and the delicate-ness of it is exactly what I dreamt of. When it came time to get wedding bands we obviously had to go back to BRAG. I showed Ani a photo of what I was thinking of and her brother went straight to the jewelry case to find the exact ring I had envisioned. They custom created the design in the beautiful rose gold that my engagement ring is made of as well. My husband has never worn jewelry before but he knew as soon as he tried on the band he went with that it was meant for him. It's elegant and simple while also being intricate somehow, he loves it! Not only did we get the rings of our dreams from the BRAG team but the experience as whole was incredible. It feels like a very personal experience with a small show room that is all your own to discuss your vision and look at options. Their communication is extremely reliable and they stick to their timelines as well. But they also are just so kind and passionate about each and every one of their BRAG couples. They are literally a hidden gem among the diamond district and we will not be purchasing diamonds in the future from anyone but them. Make your appointment ASAP! They do not disappoint! read more

Ani was amazing and I highly recommend working with BRAG. If you are a clueless guy like myself when it comes to jewelry, she is your go-to-person. BRAG is absolutely fantastic and this review is much overdue! My fiancee and I visited BRAG in April of 2019 to look at engagement rings together. Ani was tremendously helpful, straightforward, and not pushy at all (other places we had been to were clearly trying to sell a bit too hard). After realizing what ring she wanted (a pear, and not an emerald like she thought she would like), my now fiancee flew to Japan the next day where she was presenting at a conference for her PhD. We decided to turn this trip into a vacation and I was going to be flying out the following week to meet her. Now that she knew exactly what type of ring she wanted, what better place to propose than a romantic vacation abroad in Japan?! The very next morning after my fiancee left for Japan, I called BRAG and even though they mentioned it's best to give them 6-8 weeks notice, I asked if there was any possible chance they could put together an engagement ring in a week. Luckily, the stone was already in their office and the setting was relatively simple. Sevag promised he would do everything he could to make the best possible ring without compromising any quality at all. I continually checked in with Sevag and he miraculously created the gorgeous ring in 5 days (see photos). I picked up the ring within 24 hours of flying out to Japan to meet my then girlfriend, and the rest is history. I could not recommend BRAG enough for anyone looking for engagement rings! I also look forward to working with Ani, Sevag, and everyone at BRAG again to get our wedding rings! read more

Like most reviews for BRAG, I probably cannot say anything that hasn't already been said. There's a reason why Sevag is rated 5 stars! What I can do, is tell you about my engagement ring buying experience and maybe that'll help you in making the right choice of jeweler. Before I went to BRAG, I went to several jewelers who were rated highly. Most jewelers sell you diamonds and will be able to answer any questions you may have around buying your diamond but since they're not the actual jeweler who make the bands they just assure you that they'll do a great job (kinda sounding like TRUMP). If you're looking for a pre-set design then probably you don't have to worry because they've made the band before and they have the molds, CADs etc. and they know exactly how much the band will cost you. However in my case my design was unique. It was based off a designer pattern I found on the internet (the original was in platinum and was very expensive and was more than what I was willing to pay for the stone itself besides I wanted to make my ring in 14k white gold). When I went to BRAG, Sevag showed me some stones he had in in inventory which met my criterion. He happened to have a stone that was very close to the color I was looking for but the other features it had, more than made up for it. Sevag priced the stone atleast $500 less than what the least pricey jeweler would have charged you for it. He priced it at what it would have cost you to buy it at an online retailer. The problem with online retailers is that you are aren't sure, what the final product will look like and if there's issues with it, you'll have to deal with someone via mail or UPS (something I wasn't comfortable doing). Once I was happy with the stone, we talked about the design of the ring. Since Sevag makes the ring himself, he was able to go into very fine detail on how he was going to make the ring, how many stones he's going to use, what they're quality was etc. I gave him a budget and asked that he stay within it. Sevag was able to tell me exactly what every component of the ring was going to cost, down to the point where we were negotiating how many stones would be placed on the band so that we don't exceed my budget and I'm happy with the final result. In the end Sevag did charge me more that what other jewelers were quoting for the design of the band but since he was the only person who told me how he was going to make it, I was comfortable in the fact that he knew exactly what he was going to do. He even accommodated me with how I was going to make the payment for the ring. Like we agreed, he delivered me the ring on time and in fact he did a better job that the original designer pattern itself. I was impressed with how beautiful the ring looked and my fiancée loved it too (which is all that matters). Sevag ended up using more diamonds on the band (than what we agreed to) because he felt that it would look better that way and didn't even charge me extra for doing so. If you're on the fence about whom you'd like as your jeweler, look no further... Sevag is your guy! My wife and I will definitely be going to him in the future for any of our jeweler needs. read more

I'm leaving this review for the simple ability to dilute any ridiculous less than 5 star reviews that could ever follow. As others have said, Sevag and his staff exhibit quintessential professionalism and customer service. They take careful time and attention, customizing as able, with very reasonable prices (notably that adjust with the market in real time according to precious metals). He always shines our jewelry when we stop in --even the non-BRAG jewelry-- without prompting and spontaneously. This started when we first visited and were simply looking. He remembers your name, style, likes, and concerns as if he just saw you yesterday. A MUST visit for that special something and someone. read more

Despite being a part of the design process with my now-fiancé, and despite knowing pretty much exactly what the ring would look like, I was still stunned by how beautiful it turned out when he proposed. I really wish I could convey how wonderful the whole process was with Sevag - he really understood what we wanted, was incredibly kind, and the level of detail put into the ring is incredible. I remember a while back when we looked at reviews before our first meeting with him and reading one that said something about it seeming like he doesn't care whether or not he gets your business. After a couple of meetings with him, you can tell he's just a very laid-back person, and he doesn't kiss your butt like a used car salesman. It's obvious he's simply confident in the quality of their product that he just lets it speak for itself. My fiancé and I will definitely be going back for our wedding bands in the next few months! read more

Sevag is very knowledgeable about the diamond market and strategically purchases a wide variety of diamonds to meet the needs/interest of the BRAG clientele. He will work tirelessly to find you the perfect diamond and setting. He is highly invested in the success of every person that comes into their store regardless of whether or not you are just starting to learn about diamonds or ready to make a purchase. This really stood out to me. I first went to BRAG with no intentions of purchasing and only to get an education on the market. I like many men knew very little about diamonds and was intimidated by what I needed to learn in order to feel comfortable about a purchase. Sevag and his team spent almost an hour teaching me about the 4-Cs despite knowing I was not ready to purchase and clearly wanted to shop around before I was ready to do so. I visited 9 other stores to get a sense of what mattered most to me in the ring and learn how to identify great craftsmanship. Ultimately, I returned to BRAG when I was ready to purchase because I wanted to work with someone I trusted in this process that would really invest the time to help me make the right purchase. Sevag did not let me down. He helped me pick out the perfect ring and I am reminded of this every day when I see my fiancé look down at her hand with a huge smile and a sparkle in her eyes. read more
