My apologies to Aline and her family for taking such a long time to provide my review. Just going to start off by stating for the record, an independent appraisal yielded a value a little bit greater than what I paid for my fiancee's engagement ring - that is the kind of value you want to receive. I purchased an engagement ring from ADCO back in April 2013. I think every member of the family assisted me during the purchase. My family used to own a family business as well, so I thought this approach was fantastic! I generally prefer to do business with family-owned establishments with respect to the finer things in life. I think family-owned establishments do a much better job serving customers and provide higher quality items. The engagement ring was custom made. I used elements of other generic rings, but the concept was fairly custom. The center stone was a round stone, and the halo was cushion-cut shaped. The setting was probably the element that could be considered custom as I had a desire to display as much of the center stone from top-bottom, right-left as possible. Obviously, the center stone needs to be secure in the setting, so my requests were counter-intuitive. Aline and her family did such a great job working with my requests, as I can be a very particular individual. We went over the CAD designs and the clay designs more times than I can count, but everyone was very patient with me. Hey, when you spend that kind of cash you want it to be perfect; the worst thing in the world would have been if my fiancee didn't absolutely love her ring - Aline and Rina demonstrated a clear understanding of this. Despite my over-bearance, the timing from start to finish was 2 months, which met my expectations. I went back and forth on the stones in the halo many times to get it 'just right' because I wanted the center stone to give the illusion of popping. Aline and Rina were always very quick with turning around the minor adjustments, and we definitely got the ring to be perfect! When I purchased the center stone and the side stones, Aline walked me through all of the important characteristics and provided me with literature. I had done a fair amount of research beforehand, and ADCO was not my first stop. This was also not my first experience purchasing diamonds. I loved that Aline took an hour or so to show me diamonds of multiple sizes and characteristics, made me try to guess the characteristics, and used her gizmos in front of me. I had been to a few other establishments in the building, but none of those businesses took that time with me. Aline was open to negotiation, but I definitely walked away with a fair deal and we both knew it. ADCO's prices comparatively speaking to other places that I went to within and outside of Boston were extremely competitive. In addition, Aline was kind enough to work with me on payment options because I didn't want to liquidate certain investments too early (I didn't expect to make the purchase that day or necessarily that soon, but the opportunity was too great to pass up). My fiancee (and I) constantly gets compliments on her ring. I mean, the thing just blings! We have been so happy with the engagement ring purchase, we wouldn't dare go anywhere else for wedding bands. For over 20 years my husband and I have been clients of ADCO. Believe me, you will find nothing better around anywhere! My husband purchased my original 1 ct. diamond in NYC well before we moved to Boston. Over the years we have had jewelry made for me and our daughters. My husband went to ADCO for a diamond tennis bracelet. My hubby is crazy fussy so Aline suggested he come on a day off and sit with her to look at diamonds for this bracelet. She actually sat with him for hours looking at and choosing diamonds for this beautiful custom made tennis bracelet. There is not a single place that we can think of that would go to that level of care in providing a service other than ADCO. For my 40th birthday we had my original solitaire diamond reset into a modified Bostonian setting with 2 side diamond to compliment the center FG stone, they matched them perfectly...I get compliments daily about my beautifully sparkly ring and I adore the ring myself. A few years ago we wanted to have a small diamond necklace made for our daughter. Aline designed a diamond drop necklace with 5 diamonds signifying the 5 members of our immediately family (her idea) which was just so touching and our daugher loves wearing it. Most recently, my dad died last year days before Christmas. As a memory of my dad and for a celebration of my 50th B-day I decided it was time to purchase an Alexanderite piece of jewelry and there is no place on earth I would think of going, ADCO was going to see me again. I called a few days in advance and spoke to the dad, Rina and Aline telling them I would like to look at some stones. A few days later I took my middle daughter with me. Aline was finishing an appt. with a young man looking at diamonds for his future fiance. I was struck again at how laid back Aline was in speaking to him, being honest, not pushing. He did not buy at that moment but on his way out I spoke to him and showed him my ring that they made for me. He was very appreciative. At any rate, Aline showed me 3 stones of different cuts all under 1 ct. The color was beyond anything I could have imagined. My daughter gasped when I took the stones over to the natural light. I am speechless! We all decided on a design of a pendant necklace with diamonds all around. Came home, hubby decided I needed to get something larger than 1 ct so I called and spoke to Rina. She met me 3 days later closer to my home. I selected an over 3 ct. Alexanderite stone again with diamonds all around. They have been in contact with me and deliver the pendant whenever I am ready. Still waiting for my inheritance check but am so happy that their caring and love when into making this necklace. As a guy who could be presented with 5 completely different diamond rings and not being able to tell the difference between them, I was very lucky to have found ADCO Diamond. I relied on Aline and Rina to help me make a custom engagement ring that my fiancée really loves. I chose ADCO Diamond instead of the other 6 different jewelers that I went to based on what I perceived as excellent customer service and reasonable prices. However, I would have chosen them over the others, even if they were more expensive due to my first meeting with them where they explained how things work and really took the time to listened to what I was looking for. This was not the same experience I had with many of the other places. I was not disappointed with my experience with ADCO Diamond. The ring and the customer service, exceed my expectations. They taught me about diamond value, the procedure for making custom engagement rings, and help me choose what would work well for a beautiful ring. I then added to the customization of the ring to make it special for my fiancée and Aline took me through what would work and what wouldn't. She even went above and beyond by adding little touches that made the ring very special; things I would not have thought of but made my fiancée very happy. I highly recommend to guys who are unsure about diamonds, rings, and this process, to find people who will help guide them through the experience while also getting a great price on the ring. So in brief, my experience was great customer service at a very good price for a custom made engagement ring. My fiancée and I will return again for wedding rings and other jewelry needs in the future. As the fiancée who received the beautiful ring from ADCO, I also cannot recommend them enough. I did not give my fiancé a lot to work with, just a list of some rough ideas and a friend to assist him. My tastes are fairly simply and classy but my favorite look was a rare one - a halo setting but with sapphires as the halo around a diamond. I knew that might be tough to find, so I gave other ideas as well. But he didn't have to worry about that with ADCO - he was able to describe and show them my rough notes and they worked with my fiancé to create my dream ring that is so beautiful and simple and perfect (and yes - it has sapphires in a halo around a sparkling cushion cut diamond). We will definitely be returning to ADCO for other jewelry needs and I absolutely recommend them to others (including other future grooms who were only given a rough idea of what to buy). read more

I purchased an engagement ring from ADCO and wouldn't change a thing. Aline helped me design my now fiance's ring and I didn't feel the slightest pressure to buy or make a quick decision. I had a somewhat unique situation where my fiance was living in another country and wanted to surprise her, so figuring out the specifications of the ring without having a clue from my girlfriend what she wanted made the process challenging. As a certified gemologist, Aline invested the time to educate me on the characteristics of a diamond so I could make an informed decision. I noticed they kept in contact in the way you prefer (I prefer email) and were very responsive to questions or follow-ups, even though I didn't purchase right away. After patiently working with me and checking in occasionally (but not over-bearingly) over the course of 2 months, we narrowed it down to 2 diamonds. Probably the most distinctive observation I had about working with ADCO is that Aline actually suggested I go with the less expensive diamond of the 2 options, because she thought the lower price outweighed the slightly lower clarity grade (which was indistinguishable compared to the other diamond and would not be noticeable when set) and therefore was a better value. That spoke volumes to me about the ADCO's integrity. I admit I did some shopping around to see how they stacked up in price and my experience was they were equal with many of the big the online retailers (slightly less expensive in some cases) for equal diamond characteristics (4 Cs, etc) while still getting the benefit of looking at the diamond in person. They were definitely less expensive than the bricks and mortar competitors for the quality of what you're getting. Overall, I highly recommend ADCO for their great service, value, and patience to help you find exactly what you're looking for. read more

Before getting engaged, I knew that I wanted to design my own ring. I had heard of ADCO from a good friend of mine who suggested I visit them. I wanted to design an intricate chevron style ring modeled after my mother's ring. Additionally, my mother wanted to give me a diamond off of her ring to add on to mine. There was a lot of work to be done in the creation of my ring and in sustaining my mother's. After many visits of incredible service, answering any possible (many) questions my fiance and I might have, sending me multiple computer generated CAD drawings of what the ring would look like to my specifications, and trying on a wax mold of the ring itself, it was created. My fiance and I worked directly with Aline who created the design of my ring to model my mother's and I could not have been happier with my experience. She is so incredibly skilled and masterful at what she does. I got engaged this past weekend and saw the ring for the first time after this process. The ring came out better than I could have ever imagined it. It is absolutely perfect and the diamonds are absolutely stunning. In addition to creating my ring, Aline spruced up my mother's ring, carefully restoring it and making sure it was more beautiful than before. In my quest for a jeweler, I have always wanted to work with someone who knows exactly what they are doing and is direct and honest with you about price, clarity and quality. Purchasing an engagement ring is one of the biggest decisions, financially and emotionally, that many men my age will make. I cannot be happier that I chose to work with ADCO upon the recommendation of a close friend who bought his engagement ring with them over the summer. From my first visit to ADCO, I knew that the shop was different than the many others I had visited. One of the owners, Aline, kindly spent nearly two hours with me on my first visit alone explaining everything I wanted to know about the process and more. I went back to the shop several times over the next month and was always greeted with a warm, excited smile. I worked with Aline to custom design a ring based on designs I had researched and her team created a masterpiece which with I was proud to propose. She did not hesitate to have her supplier send additional diamonds and side stones for me to see even though she (correctly) thought that I would go with the stones she already had. I walked away from the experience confident that I fully considered my options. If you are looking for somewhere that will patiently work with you to make your vision a reality, all while realistically working within your budget, ADCO is the place. My fiancee has twice returned to get her ring resized so that it is just right and she is glad that ADCO was part of such an important part of our lives. ADCO diamond helped us out so much. We were in a bad situation and they helped us immensely. We ended up using the setting we originally bought and sold our diamond to adco and they replaced the stone with a different one. I was worried it would take days to weeks to have the ring ready. Aline talked to the jeweler and she said it would be done in an hour and a half. Before going to ADCO we hit just about every single jeweler on the south shore to sell this original diamond with absolutely no luck. Everyone was rude and not helpful at all. We got the worst and most insulting offers. After 20+ calls we finally decided to look up places in the jewelers building and came across ADCO and gave them a call. We were reassured that everything was going to work out and be okay. When I arrived to the most beautiful showroom I've ever seen, Aline greeted me and we sat down and went over everything. She made this awful experience into the most comfortable experience in a matter of minutes. Everything came out perfectly and I honestly can never put into words how thankful we are for what she did for us. We definitely hands down recommend ADCO for anyone who's looking for a perfect experience with diamonds and jewelry. I will never set foot into any other jewelry store again. I cannot say enough great things about my experience at ADCO. I first visited the day after Christmas and decided to check out a handful of the highly rated shops in the building. A couple of them were closed (telling) and the others left me walking away like I was buying a used car. Not at ADCO. My experience was with Aline and Rina (Like most I'm sure.. they're ALWAYS working!) I sat down and was greeted very warmly. Aline took her time with me as I struggled between the choice of three different diamonds. (It's also worth noting that I was very specific with what I was looking for. Every other location I had been to did not have a selection comparable to what I told them I wanted. Even though I was clear what I was looking for at these other shops, they insisted I aim to purchase the more expensive stones) When I told Aline what I was looking for, it was refreshing that she didn't show me anything else but my preference. Price: I have a friend across country who works in the industry. I knew I was getting a great price from Aline but he confirmed it. It's a rare thing these days when it seems everyone else is out to get as much as they can out of you. Overall, if you're looking to build the perfect ring, go to ADCO. From day one, I had a wonderful experience working with ADCO. They helped to make the overall experience less over overwhelming and completely collaborative. After doing a ton of internet research on jewelers, on a whim I stopped in with my girlfriend around 4pm one day to browse and get to know their inventory. It was a slower day for them, so Rina hopped right in to get to know us and what we were looking. She happily worked with us until after their official closing time of 5pm - which was completely unexpected on our part and very much appreciated! Rina pulled out diamonds to compare, gave us a closer look at how to spot the imperfections in diamonds, and gave matched diamonds with settings so that we could really see what the final product may look like. I also stopped back in a few weeks later, to compare more diamonds (just to explore), and then signed off on the ring design. It was ready for pick up about 3-4 weeks later and I couldn't have been more thrilled by the final product (and so was my fiancee!). At no point in the process did I feel like I was being pressured to buy something by a suspiciously eager jeweler. ADCO made me feel as though it was my decision, and that they were there to make sure I was armed with all of the best information to make it. I would strongly recommend ADCO Jewelers at the Jewelers Building in Boston, MA. My friend recommended ADCO after shopping there in the past. I was trading in my diamond and wanted a large fancy shape diamond within my budget. I emailed ADCO with my new diamond requests. Aline quickly responded to my email and suggested an appointment and had several beautiful diamonds to show me. She provided me with diamond education and great prices without pressure. I made a decision and even was able to layaway the diamond until I was ready to purchase. Once purchased, it was shipped to my home insured with no additional charge. After weeks of having my diamond, I had a change of heart and requested to change the diamond to a round brilliant stone. Aline was gracious and welcomed me back allowing me to change the diamond. She had several diamonds for me to look at and provided my husband and I with education good prices and customer service again. She understood the importance of feeling confident with my purchase and genuinely wanted me to love my diamond. It sparkles with brilliance! I am Kelly's fiancé and i went to the diamond district to not only look for an engagement ring but i also needed to learn about diamonds. The way I chose which stores to go to was completely based on yelp review and ADCO had great reviews so i checked them out. Aline took the time to teach me everything I needed to know about diamonds and in addition she gave me great advice on how to maximize my dollar to get the look I wanted. (FYI i went to 12 stores before purchasing) At first ADCO unfortunately could not find what I was looking for. But Aline continued to stay in contact with me and kept searching when other stores said they couldn't find what I wanted (2.00+ct oval). In the end she did find it and gave me a really competitive price. In addition because I was surprising my fiancé with this I was not exactly sure what setting to get, Aline allowed me to pick one and use it for the proposal then we returned and Aline used the money I spent on the setting towards an upgrade to platinum. Without a doubt ADCO is a great company very straight forward no games and I would highly recommend checking them out. Went to get my wife's engagement ring and wedding band resized. I also wanted to see if I could add 2 more diamonds (one on each side) of her engagement ring as this was our 25th anniversary. Alene inspected the mold and said that it couldn't be done as the gold had worn and they would not be able to fit the diamonds. She had even a better idea. Another matching wedding band. Although she estimated 2 weeks as I was hoping my wife would have them for our renewal of vows she said that the staff that they work with were down to 2 people due to COVID. She felt really bad. When she wrote me that the rings were ready we went down. And the rings were stunning! Worth the wait! I knew she made the right decision. Was very pleased. So glad I went back to Adco where I bought my engagement ring 26 years ago. The staff is very pleasant to work with. We had some laughs as she remembered how I proposed. She ordered me an incredible custom made work of art, and the engagement ring was hands down the best price that I found between 8 stores from Massachusetts to NYC to CA including from a family friend gemologist who was willing to make the custom ring at (her) cost. Aline showed us various diamonds to fit our needs and price range and ordered two others for me to look at to make sure we got just what we wanted. The designs were custom, unique and beautiful. At one point I had 5 different styles I fell in love with. Aline learned a little about me and gave me insights to help choose the perfect ring for me and the right diamond. She even rushed to finish the ring and send it to my fiancé in time for my birthday along with a beautiful vase of flowers and a birthday greeting! Some of what I appreciated about ADCO was that they were patient, knowledgeable, had a good selection, listened to what I wanted, where not pushy, and when asked, offered what I found to be invaluable advice. I found ADCO Diamond to be the best value in the Jewelers Exchange Building. What you are paying for is SERVICE. And, of course, people you can trust. I found that they knew more about diamonds and precious stones than anyone else, and they were extremely patient and helpful with all our questions. But then Aline is a certified gemologist, who purchases her own merchandise. So she knows exactly what she is selling. I disagree with the other reviewer about price. I found ADCO prices lower than others, and I searched for a LONG time. Also, I got my finished ring on time for Valentine's Day -- and that was within ONE WEEK of ordering. Finally, even though I spent "only" $5K, I felt they treated me the same as the person who had just spent $200K on earrings, which Aline showed me. (Wow!!) I am a customer for life. read more

We were referred to ADCO from a friend who has beautiful jewelry that my wife and I love, so we had to check it out for ourselves. As I'm sure most husband's can say- my wife is quite particular with the kind of jewelry she wants. We did a lot of research and shopping and ADCO was hands down the best we had visited. We worked with Rita and loved her. She guided us through specific diamonds, types of bands, etc. and made it a focus too match her wedding band to her engagement ring and compliment it.
