Engagement ring

I can't say enough about how happy I am with the ring! Emily was so helpful throughout the process, especially because I had never purchased jewelry before. She was incredibly patient even as I encountered hiccups sourcing the diamond, and she quickly resized the ring in a couple of hours following the proposal. We looked around at several jewelers of varying sizes, and it feels great to have worked with a small local one. Highly recommend!

I recently purchased an engagement ring for my now finance from Emily. After looking around at the jewelers downtown, I was totally turned off by the attitude and the pushiness of their approach. I did a bit of browsing online with my girlfriend and we found a few designs that she liked. I then went to meet with Emily. From the very start it was a great experience. She walked me through the process of purchasing the diamond through her and getting the ring designed and built. Her and I worked on the design and came up with beautiful ring! My fiancé loves the ring and everyone she has shown it to has been blown away. I couldn't be more pleased with working with e. scott. She was professional, considerate and is truly talented. If you are looking for a slightly alternative route for the getting that special someone a ring, e. scott originals is the way to go!

Very important shop dog Maybel!

Where do I begin? Emily truly does a beautiful and thoughtful job on everything she creates. We've lived in the neighborhood for a few years now, and I window shopped at her store quite often. When we got engaged, I didn't look anywhere else for wedding bands--I knew that E Scott Originals could make us something special and unique to wear for the rest of our lives. Turns out, I was right. Throughout the process of designing and making our rings, Emily was open, responsive, and helpful. We went through a few iterations before landing on rings that are just right and completely unique to us. Along the way, we also got to work closely with Mayble--Emily's adorable Boston terrier. Emily not only makes custom designs, she also sells retail pieces she's made, including some really cute dog tags. We got an anchor for our jaunty dog nephew and he looks great in it. We picked up our bands today, and they don't disappoint. Considering you're getting a one-of-a-kind concierge-style experience, the pricing is very reasonable. I'm so glad we went with E. Scott Originals and I can't wait to use them again.

Emily and I worked together to design my fiancee's ring and it was a resounding success! She loved it, I loved it, and everyone compliments her on it. I especially appreciated the patients Emily had while working through the design and trying to find *just the right* stone while staying in budget. She was also super responsive on the day we got engaged and it turned out that the ring was just a smidgen tight. Very happy I went with Emily!

My beautiful and unique engagement ring and it's silver and CZ clone "traveling ring" designed by the lovely and talented Ms. Emily Scott.

If you are looking for a magical experience for a custom designed engagement ring, Emily Scott is that jeweler. From the moment you enter her whimsical shop in Somerville it is like stepping into Disneyland. Greetings by a Tinkerbell like Boston Terrier named Mabel excitedly fluttering about starts the magic carpet ride and it only gets more awe inspiring from there. I knew I wanted something completely different in rose gold with colored stones and lots of bling. Emily was able to translate my giddy and sometimes undefined desires into a ring that was pure me. How she performed this slight of hand baffles me still. As we were discussing different possibilities that didn't touch my soul, Emily suggested altering the basic design by adding 2 more colored stones in ombre fashion to surround my pink sapphire center stone. A tingle in my heart and click in my brain automatic told me that this was indeed my ring. A ring that far exceeded anything in my head or anything I've seen anywhere else. What a moment! I emphatically said, "Yes to the ring". I received my ring as promised but even more beautiful than I imagined. The transaction from start to finish was delightful because of Emily's honesty, attention to detail and specialized attention. I felt like a princess. She even sized my ring in just a few minutes while I waited. Where else would you get spontaneous service? Emily is sweet, positive and intuitive collaborating with her is pure joy. I look forward to having Emily design our wedding bands. Beverly

We immediately fell in love with his style and attention to detail with his jewelry (and his sweet dog, Ziggy). I initially wanted an emerald but thanks to Daniel's informational post about emerald's softness, we pivoted to a diamond and incorporated side emeralds. From my fiance's experience, Daniel was a sincere mentor who guided Evan throughout the process (design, diamond selection, insurance), without being a salesman. Daniel remembered our first visit and was able to create a unique and beautiful ring that I'm madly in love with! We are so grateful for finding Daniel and for the stunning ring he created for us! Daniel is now our jeweler and we can't wait to work with him in the future. Thanks for everything Daniel, see you soon!

He is a gifted artist, and always fusses over his rings when we come to have them cleaned (now from out of state), but I know that's because he cares passionately about his work. If your focus is customer service go to a chain. If you want beautiful jewelry that will last, go see Dan.

I have only good things to say about Rebekah Brooks. We went on a whim, but from the minute we…read morewalked into the store both my fiancé and I knew this was our place. It has none of the pretentiousness of the Newbury spots we visited, and the Harvard Square store is cozy and intimate. But the best part is the superb staff--in particular Emily, who helped us design a custom engagement ring that exceeded my expectations. Emily was able to translate my rambling vision into something tangible. She is truly adept at balancing when to offer helpful context and guidance, when to share her opinion, and when to let you come to your own decision. All this allowed me to sort through my thoughts and wants, while ensuring my decisions were well vetted! She is endlessly patient (we went multiple times and asked a LOT of questions), and best of all, she listens to what you say and helps you understand what it really is you're looking for. She was also honest about what tradeoffs matter and when you can cut corners. The other notable thing about Rebekah Brooks--besides being a female-owned local business--is the aesthetic and style of the jewelry itself. If you are looking for something dainty and delicate with hints of vintage quality in a modern application, this is your place. (They can do less dainty too, but I found it hard to find other jewelers who achieved this quality.) And if you're on the fence, go in to look firsthand at the jewelry; it was a much different experience seeing it in person versus online, especially as their metals have a really beautiful and unique tone. It's no surprise that we also got our wedding bands from Rebekah Brooks, and we received the same great customer service. It was so special to have the Rebekah Brooks team on our side throughout this whole journey, and we feel so fortunate to have a place we were able to form a relationship with. If it's not obvious from this glowing review, I highly recommend Rebekah Brooks.

I usually don't leave reviews, but I felt this was worth sharing. While I take some responsibility…read morefor not getting additional quotes, I trusted this local shop to be reasonably priced -- and later learned I was drastically overcharged. The soldering repair for my necklace cost $250, which I've since discovered was far above market rate. When the same issue happened again (in a new area of the chain), I had it fixed in Boston for $20, including polishing -- all done in about 30 minutes. I'd strongly recommend getting multiple quotes before agreeing to any repair here. I was really disappointed by the pricing and wouldn't recommend this shop based on my experience.

This is a pretty store in the heart of Harvard Square with a lovely collection of mostly…read morecontemporary one-of-a-kind pieces of jewelry. I spied some really eye-catching pieces that would add immeasurably to the knock-out factor when dressing up. These are quality pieces with price tags to match. The day we visited was a busy one but the staff was extremely helpful and accommodating giving us plenty of time to try on a variety of jewelry items from the display cases. No hard sell, no impatience, just good, attentive service. My cousin ended up with a beautiful long silver necklace interspersed with slices of quartz throughout. I fell in love with some dramatic earrings (shown in one of the photos) but when I tried them on they felt too heavy for my ear lobes (one lobe ripped once from years of heavy earrings and had to be repaired by a plastic surgeon so I'm not going down that road again) so with a heavy heart I put those beauties back on the shelf. There is plenty to look at on two floors of space here. There are lots of things to examine and explore on shelves, counters, and behind glass cases all beautifully presented. You can also find a few other things besides jewelry like hand-made silk scarves and metal serving pieces. I thought some of the serving pieces would make an excellent hostess gift when traveling to stay with friends for example. Great place to browse and to find something for yourself or a very special someone else in your life.

And I said "how much is a scarf, I looked at the ones on the other side of the floor and didn't see a tag." TBH, there was a tag, but no price on that tag. He reported with "there's a tag on every scarf." This is not a way to talk to a potential customer. I usually say "never say 'never'", but I will NEVER shop here. And also, if somebody's has less than five stars, the score is actually lower than shown because people give one star actually want to give new stars. I'm one of them.
