Had a great shopping experience at Carter's. The sales associate was friendly, helpful, and made the whole visit smooth and pleasant. The store had an amazing variety of kids' clothing, and the discount rates were especially impressive which meant a lots of great deals across different sections. We were in and out pretty quickly and didn't end up buying a ton, but we still accomplished exactly what we came in for, which says a lot about how well the store is organized. Everything is very clearly laid out, making it easy to browse without feeling overwhelmed. The store itself was extremely clean, well-maintained, and neatly arranged. I went to Carter store again for the first time in one year because I had a bad experience last time and I live nearby. I was desperate in need to look for a onesie pajama for my son, I was the only customer in the store walking in. There was two ladies I would assume one is a manager and the other one is an employee I asked the manager politely if they have onesie, she made me feel unwelcome and doesn't know what I'm talking about or even a onesie is, I asked her a simple question and her employee was very rude. She looked at me like I'm an annoying person, they seem personally bothered, I am a simple customer with a child , but she gave me an attitude. This was the scariest experience as a single mom, bringing my autistic son to the store and dealing with two amateur adults who works at Carter's people that do not deserve a job when I asked a simple question I think there is a discriminatory going on because the manager is White and the employee girl is Mexican and I am Asian. It was on Jan 6 2026 around 5 PM in the evening that I experienced this and I hope nobody experience like this and I don't wanna experience like this again or if I can make the smart decision to never walk into that store anymore . I walked into the best store experience. Why? It was around 7:30pm last night and the store was practically empty when I walked in. I'm trying not to do last minute Christmas shopping but the days are getting closer and before you know it, Christmas will be here. A+ for effort. Luckily, this place made it easy for me. Most everything was either 40-50% off and I headed straight for the girls dresses. Sometimes sales sections can be a hot mess with clothes strewn all over the place and the sizing not in the correct order. This wasn't the case here. Everything was happily organized by size. The color coding on the hangers made it so that I could just pick and pull what I wanted. I chose 5 dresses and headed for the register. With only one person ahead of me, the wait time was only about 7 minutes. The sales associate was pleasant and efficient when I asked for a gift receipt. The gift boxes are $2-- not bad. Gone are the days that they included gift boxes with your purchases- but that's another topic altogether. If you need kid's clothes, come here. To be honest, i don't shop at Carter's as much as i used to. I never had any problems each time that i had shopped here. The employees are always nice, the store is always clean and organized. Today i was greeted by a worker name Vanessa and she also rang me up for a return & purchase. She was by far the sweetest person i've ever met! She was very easy to talk to and really nice! She also informed me about the sales that were going on in the store which was a plus since i haven't shopped at Carter's in a long time. She provided really good customer service during the return transaction and just overall. I'm really glad that this Carter's location hired really nice employees, maybe i'll reconsider coming back to shop at Carter's again! I love Carters and their deals, however its so small that having a stroller inside isn't a great idea sometimes. I got lost using the Maps on here for some reason since it sent me to some random place. It took a bit to understand the actual coupon usage but once I got the hang of it I know to spend more than $50 each trip when they give away the coupons. I was just in the store today. They were incredibly busy since the store was packed, but I got amazing help from the ladies at the register. I was shopping for 4 different babies ranging from still in the womb to 3T. There was some kind of scuffle at the register at one point, some customer yelled at the ladies behind the counter and then stormed out of the store. I was able to buy something for each of the babies that I was looking for AND more that I can stash away until Christmas time. THANK YOU ladies for all your help!!! Wow! I have never been ignored by the salespeople quite as thouroughly as I have here. When I first struggled my way into the store with baby stoller, I didn't actually see anyone at the registers and thought the salesperson(s) must have been on break or something. Unfortunately, the prices aren't all that great anymore, either. Most things are now $10-20 and you can get the exact same Carter's clothing at Costco for $5-7. After looking for some jeans for the baby and not liking what I found, I decided to leave. When I was struggling to get the baby carriage out the door, I finally noticed the salespeople watching me and chatting quietly at the cash register. I certainly don't expect the employees to fawn upon me, but what happened to offering to help a customer find something (or at least greeting the customer when they walked in? When I worked in retail, we got written up if we didn't greet the customers). Do yourself a favor and hike up the parking lot a bit - the prices are better at Costco and the employees are much more friendly. read more

Not a huge store, but you literally can buy anything for $10 and under for children up to 2, with many of the onesies and newborn outfits at $5. Stacy the cashier totally ruined my awesome mood! She is rude, loud, demeaning and completely abrasive. Another customer required her assistance and all she could do was raise her voice, answer the customers questions in a loud demeaning tone and show complete annoyance to be bothered. I work in customer service myself and i couldn't believe the audacity she had to treat someone as she did. If i was her manager, she would have been fired on the spot. She was demeaning and degrading. If you want to be treated like a child, rudely, berated and talked down to while you spend upwards of 200.00 bucks this is the place to be. If not you can go get all your carters stuff from Marshall's, TJ Maxx or Ross. The customer service at this store is not worth the visit. I love this place. Unfortunately it is right next to one of my other favorite stores (Trader Joe's) so every time I hit TJ's I need to run into Carter's to see if there is anything my precious little grandniece "needs." Compared to other kid's stores I think the quality here is really good for the price. They are always doing sales and handing out coupons until - as my grandmother always says - "it was so cheap I couldn't afford not to buy it." Most of the clothing is of a similar fabric (cotton knit) but there is decent variety of styles and colors. My niece says the socks are the best she has found for her little one. Since it is all of one brand you won't find really exotic styles, but good grief, how much style does a one year old need? You'll find the basics and some fun stuff and cute prints. I have found nice stuff for baby showers and they even have cute bags and cards so you can get everything you need for gifting right here. They also have a few toys - the kind of soft colorful creatures that you can attach to a stroller or bed to entertain the little ones; also finger puppets and so forth. Once you load up on clothes and socks and jammies here you can head over to Starbucks for some java and then hit Costco for the industrial size packages of diapers and baby wipes. The purpose for my visit the other day was to purchase some clothing for my upcoming arrival. When I walked into the store, there were 2 female associates in the register area having a conversation about something and didn't even flinch when I entered the store. Needless to say, i didn't mind at first, but 10 minutes into my arrival, they were both still behind their registers acting as if no one was in the store! They didn't look up from whatever it was they were working on and continued to talk to each other some more. While in the store, there was 1 other customer that came into the store and even she BARELY received so much as a hello from them! Not once did the employees leave their register station, and not once did they check to see if I needed any assistance (which I did). And even when I was getting rung up, the associate didn't ask if I found everything ok.... NADA! Instead, she asked me to give her my phone number and email address without explaining WHY she needed it and then proceeded to ring me up after. I've shopped in Carter's locations before but i have NEVER, EVER experienced such a lack of customer service like I did at this location. If I didn't NEED to purchase some needed clothes for my upcoming baby, I would've dropped everything that I had in my hands and made the drive to the Milpitas location. I definitely will NOT be going back to the Almaden store. For anyone reading this, I would advice you to do the same.... STAY AWAY from the Almaden Carter's Store and just go to the Carter's at Saratoga Ave or in Milpitas. read more

I don't get all the criticism...is this a store where items are constantly "on sale?" YES! Would you ever pay full price for them....well you might at Babies R Us or the other stores where CARTERS brand is sold. Yes, I agree the quality just isn't the same at Carters as it is as someplace like Janie and Jack for example. So what? For goodness' sake my baby grows out of his clothes every 3 months...why would I ever pay more for day-to-day clothes? Every child needs some special outfits and things for church, family outings, functions, etc but for the most part our kids are rolling around with the dog...tromping through creeks and digging in the dirt. I admit that their shoes don't hold up as well as I would have liked them to...but Here is why I rated it so highly: 1) consistency - in regards to price, durability, and sizing, Carter clothes do their job. You know the price range of the clothes...I always know what size my son will be because their stuff is SO standard. It's wonderful. As far as quality/durability is concerned I have to say that my son "knee walked" for about 5 months...scraping his jean-clad knees around cement and tile and everything else. During that time I alternated between 2 pairs of Carter jeans and only 1 of the two pairs got a hole in one knee in that time. 2) seasonable stock - this isn't a store that always carries clothes for the following season...they have plenty for the current season and every other. It's helpful when buying shower gifts for different seasons which helps mom! 3) there is stuff for my 1 year old to do in the store...little things for him to play with and clouds on the ceiling that move. He is ALWAYS occupied while I shop...that's a win in my book. BOTTOM LINE: Is this a place you are going to find little Joey's Sunday best? No. But what you will find is deals on the things kids will wear on a daily basis. And when your kid runs through clothes every three months it's helpful! read more

I'm addicted to Carter's. I go in when I don't need anything and I walk out with spending at least $50. If I go in and I actually do need something, I spend at least a $100. And this place is cheap!! Cheap in a good way, great quality and looks but it doesn't cost a fortune. There's always sales, always coupons, always some promotion going on. Let me start by saying, I love Carter's clothes. I think they are cute, reasonably priced, and comfortable. Love them. Having said that, I encountered a situation today that will make me think twice about coming to this store again, especially with Buy Buy Baby in the same parking lot, as well as Babies R Us down the street carrying Carter's as well. I shop here a lot, and spend quite a bit of money. I had been in last month, spending more than $100, and here I was, not one month later, spending another $100, $141 to be exact. I remembered at the register that I had one of those 20% off coupons at home, and when spending roughly $150, it can make a big difference. When I asked the girl at the counter if I could bring in my coupon later that day to have my account credited, she said no, they could not retroactively credit after the sale purchase. I then asked if i could return the items and then rebuy them with a coupon, she stated no, I would have to take to the sales floor and reshop all my items. WHAT????? In this economy, with competition being what it is, as well as stores such as Bed, Bath, & Beyond offering credits/multiple coupons, etc., you are going to tell a loyal customer to redo all the shopping? Let's look at the logic here... you are potentially losing business, making more work for the consumer willing to SPEND MONEY IN YOUR STORE, as well as wasting additional labor to restock all the items originally purchased. What kind of policy is this? Certainly not one focused on customer service. I am in sales, as well as my husband managing a large retail store, and this is not the way to do business in this economy. As my sister said, why even offer coupons if you are going to make them so difficult to use??? I just wanted to make every mom out there that shops Carter's to be aware of their policy, and think before shopping there again. They are obviously not interested in keeping your business. I used to shop at Carter's for my kids. I like the quality clothing and cute design. However, I have stopped shopping at this store a few years ago and avoid buying their clothes from other stores altogether and here's my story. I went there with my first kid, 2 yo toddler about 7 years back. My kid (while getting potty trained) needed to pee really bad. So in a rush we ran into the store's bathroom so she can do her business. The staff confronted me at the bathroom door when we got out that we should not have done that because the bathroom is not for customers and we should have gone to the Starbuck's bathroom next door. I got upset and rebutted that we are Carter's customer and that this is sort of an emergency and wanted to talk to the manager. The manager, very rudely, reprimanded me that I violated store policy. I never went there again after that incident and never bought Carter's product again. I refuse to buy products from a company that treat their customers like $#!T. read more

I want to preface this review by saying I shop at this location all the time and I really like Cater's clothing. However, the customer service at this location is HORRIBLE. The store manager, Teresa, is the most unhelpful and rude person I have ever had the displeasure of dealing with. I was in the store yesturday and was going to buy my daughter some boots. The sign posted on the shoe display read 50% off. When I took the boots to the register they did not ring up 50% off. I showed Teresa the sign and she said that it was a mistake and that someone had pulled the sign from behind the 25% off sign. My husband informed her that she should give us the posted price because it is illegal not to. She refused to give us the posted price and handled the situation with the a poor attitude. As I said, I shop here all the time so, I have had her ring my up before...always with the same sour attitude. But, I had no idea that she was the manager of this place; never a smile, always grumpy. Today I called Cater's Corporate Office and the representative told me that Teresa should have given me the posted price and that it is indeed illegal for her not to have. California Business and Professionals Code 12024.2 states, "UNLAWFUL COMPUTATION OF VALUE: MISDEMEANOR: INFRACTION UNDER DESIGNATED CIRCUMSTANCES (a) It is unlawful for any person, at the time of sale of a commodity, to do any of the following: (1) Charge an amount greater than the price, or to compute an amount greater than a true extension of a price per unit, that is then advertised, posted, marked, displayed, or quoted for that commodity." The coporate office was nice enough to send me a gift certificate greater than the amound of the discount. I am not sure if I will use it. read more

I don't ever review retail stores but this one really got me itching. Yesterday while I was in the area, I decided to drop in to purchase a few baby stuff for an upcoming birthday. Upon entering, I was greeted oh so kindly by the two associates behind the registers loudly gossiping. Better yet I was blown away by the customer service I received while checking out. I love to be treated like an annoyance! Guess I wasn't the only one to think negatively about the store associates (hence some of the reviews lately). Smh read more

I'm not a fan of Carters and this is why: 1) They totally rely on sales, coupons, and customer loyalty crap to lure you in to get the best deal. Would anyone REALLY pay $24 for that outfit? No, but you say it's 50% off and give everyone 20% off coupons and then more crap if they spend more next month and people will probably come back. Ugh. I have to PLAN to shop? No, thank you. 2) The quality is lacking. I shopped there when my daughter was a newborn because of their cheap clothes. But, that's just what they are: cheap clothes, which is cool for newborns who fit their clothes for like 2 months, if not 2 minutes. Elastics broke, holes were worn in, etc, etc. How does this happen to baby clothes, I'll never understand. 3) The fit is super chubster too, again which is good for newborns, but not for toddlers who don't eat chips and soda for every meal. 4) Carters is far too ubiquitous. They sell it at Costco, Target, Walmart, Babies R Us, EVERYwhere! When my daughter was a baby, she was regularly wearing the exact same outfit as 3 other infants in the Kaiser waiting room. Boring! I hate when that happens to me just as much as when it happens to my daughter. Although the store itself has a more extensive selection of Carters clothes, chances are someone you know is going to be dressing their kid in the same thing. 5) It's hard to find BASIC items in this store. Last time I went in to get some clothes for my soon-to-be-born son and was hoping that they would have some warm winter hats for the babe as at least 30% of body heat is lost through the head. NO HATS?!? Just those little newborn caps that are sold with outfits, the cashier lady explained. Great. How about socks? Yeah, they have 1 set of 6 sold for $12 (?!?!?!), but only in premie size or giant toddler size. Hm. What about in between? Well, they can't help you here. I'll be avoiding this store as much as possible now that I have a few basic cheap items from this store. My time and money is much better spent at Old Navy and Target read more

Oh boy! What mom doesn't enjoy going into a kids clothing store with their adorable kid that is just so fun to do embarrassing things like through on glasses. They had a great buy one get one sale. I didn't buy any clothes as I'm good for the moment, and afraid about what size he will be as it get warmer. But I was very disappointed that they did not have any of the great baby sunglasses that have the soft strap to keep them on and out of their mouths (at least a little). They also have no hat to protect kids under 12 as well. Lastly small shoes in a size 2, think I sa one or 2 ....let's just say I went to another place near buy and got sunglasses that fir ans stay on well and a cute hat that has great spf for my little loves head. Carters does have a cute selection, and the girl behind the counter very sweet, but unconcerned at the lack of inventory on a lot of things. read more

Searched high and low, surely looking very lost, but none of the three saleswomen behind the counter could be bothered to put their loud and annoying conversation on pause long enough to ask if I needed any help. After doing a few laps around the store and having no luck, I had to interrupt them to ask if they carried plain white bibs. They don't, in case you were wondering. I asked where I might find some.
