Stay away!! If you care about your car and want it fixed correctly then this not the place for you. This was my 7th time time going back to fix things they broke. They don't know the slightest clue on how to mix paint or anything related to body shop. From what I've seen this is a new owner and all the positive reviews are from when it was a different owner. These guys are AMAZING! I have never worked with a company that's worked so hard to make me happy. The manager Rubin went above and beyond to make sure I was taken care of. Some parts for my truck were on back order and was going to delay the timeline of my truck being fixed. I was going to be in a tough situation because of it. Long story short they made sure I was taken care of and they made sure I had a vehicle to drive while repairs were being done. It's difficult to find "REAL" customer service these days but at CARSTAR Westside Collision they do it right! I would HIGHLY avoid this body shop. As a certified aircraft mechanic, I ensure that I stay on top of my vehicle's maintenance and that my car has no problems whatsoever. That being said, I brought in my 1 year old car with ZERO mechanical/electrical issues to have a minor fender bender repaired. (Was recommended here by the person's insurance agent responsible for the damages). Waited a week for the work to be completed only for my car to be returned with all of the error codes on. My car was very unsafe to drive and I returned it for them to fix it. I had to leave my car for another week only for them to leave it with a braking issue that it never had before. They do not want to be responsible for the issue my car is now having. STAY AWAY if you don't want your car to be returned with mechanical/electrical issues. read more

I like to support local business so I brought my car in, they checked the BODY WORK that needed to be done, but said they would check everything. If anything else need to be fixed they will notify me. Well no notifications. So I thought everything was ok. ------------------------------------------------ Pick up: 2 1/2 weeks I get my car back. I thought it was only body work b/c I wasn't notified for anything else. We walk around my car. Great! Looks good after all it's just BODY WORK. ------------------------------------------------ Later that day: I get home randomly decided to pop my hood.....and I struggled at it. My tire lights were on and my air doesn't work‍ WTF?? On my NEW car and YESSSSSS it was working before as I am covered under warranty. If there is even a wire loose, I'm taking in. ------------------------------------------------ The problem: I notified Westside and my Insurance. I went by there to address my concern. They asked me was if it working before?? I was shocked!! I know they didn't check my car. Are you kidding me?? Look where I live AV. You really think I'm going to drive around with no air?? I'm a new car(under warranty)We spoke for another five minutes and he let me know what would happen, my insurance would have to send an adjuster see if it accident related if not I will have to pay for the diagnostic. I left. I cried! I don't have time to wait. I have a 10month year old baby that I have to drive around in a hot car 88+degrees and no one really seemed to care. He said just take my car back to dealer and have them fix it. Your under warranty. WOW!! I was in a accident and I assumed that all shops do a diagnostic. Clearly, that's not the case. I have a new car, nothing was wrong with it. You shouldn't have to get your car back and take it into another shop b/c they didn't do their job. The scares me. They only did body work and nothing else. I trusted them with my car to fix everything from the accident. Imagine if my car stopped on the road and I was hospitalized for something they overlooked and lack there of....and my kids. I feel this is not right. They took my full deductible and didn't complete job. If you look at the other reviews this has been an ongoing problem. It's disgusting. We think they are fixing our car and checking everything, when they are not. It's get them in and get them out. WOW!! They are not checking everything and they need to own it! We should not have to pay for a diagnostic when the diagnostic should have been done in the beginning and I get it now insurance is a business it's not here to protect us. I told them if they charge me for the diagnostic and lie and say it was broken before the accident, that I would go ape shit crazy. It's not right! We trust these companies to do their job and a good job and they are taking our money and they are out. I ended up calling the dealership. They put me in a loaner and it will be another week plus before I get my car. They have notified me that there is more work to be done. Please be careful! Ask for a full diagnostic. When they time passed what the automated message told me my pick up date and time were, I simply called and just asked if an update was available. They not only told me when it would be done, but without being asked, explained what was left to be done. I dealt with Ruben as my estimator and he was awesome. My car was suppose to be complete on 2/25. Multiple times they confirmed with me both via automated text that my car would be complete on the scheduled date. On 2/23 they send me an automated message that my car will now be ready on 3/4. No phone call explaining why, no communication, no customer service. On 3/2, same thing, they send me another automated text that my car is now delayed to 3/9. No phone call, just a text sent after they had closed, so I was unable to call anyone to inquire about the delay. On 3/9 again delayed to 3/11, same lack of customer service, no phone call or email. By this time I now have to pay for my car rental out of pocket. I called the office I would be told that the person in charge of my car was busy, out to lunch, unavailable. Promises of phone calls back by the front desk with no one calling me back. Finally got a hold of Ruben, the person in charge of my car and a call, late in the evening, with no useful information. Promised that my car would be done 3/11. Delayed to 3/14, delayed to 3/15, delayed to 3/16. NEVER WAS I CALLED. NO EXPLANATION. No offer to compensate me for having to pay for my rental out of pocket, because it was well over 30 days in their shop. I had to ask for them to do the right thing and reimburse me for the out of pocket rental cost, which again, they didn't call me back to confirm, I had to call them. I finally pick up my car on 3/16, drove it 2 miles to my house. On 3/17 while I am driving it to work, new job, the check engine light and "MASTER WARNING LIGHT" turn on, I was able to pull into an AutoZone and check the codes, and guess what?! It was the same code I took the car in with when I originally dropped off the car for repair. I called my insurance adjuster and body shop at 10am. Ruben promised to call me back with tow truck info within 30mins. An hour and a half later, I call him. Ruben tells me that it will be a few hours before a tow truck can pick me and my car up. How is this acceptable? I am stranded in 85 degree heat, missing work, and upset. I explain to Ruben that I need a rental, and that they should pay for it because the repairs the shop performed are the reason I am broken down. He promises to call me back with 15mins. Over 30 mins later, I get a call back with no useful information - Ruben tells me that the local Enterprise doesn't have any cars available. This man, Ruben is unable to think critically or communicate. I calmly suggest to him, why don't you call another enterprise, or an UBER/LYFT/TAXI to bring me home from this awful heat so I can get a car at another Enterprise? This all started at 10am and finally at 130pm someone is finally coming to pick me up. Meanwhile I get a phone call from the tow service they work with, and the guy speaks no English, doesn't know how to turn on a 2005 Prius or shift it into neutral so he can tow it. I explain to the tow driver, the car inverter cooling system is malfunctioning so you cant drive it, but I can explain to you how to put the transmission into neutral so you can tow my car. The poor guy just isn't understanding the concept or a push button car. I arrive back to CarStar Lancaster to find that the owner Sarkas and my contact Ruben are gone. Sarkas went home, Ruben is at lunch. Someone else calls the tow company and is as frustrated with them as I am. The tow driver then calls my cellphone to tell me that he is leaving my car at the AutoZone parking lot with the key in it, unlocked, with all my personal belongings in it because he has another job to go to. What? I have over $2000 of camping supples in the car that I was going to drop off at storage after work. I finally get home at 3pm (5hrs later), keep in mind I like maybe 5 minutes, 2mi from the shop. I missed a day of work because of their poor work. Meanwhile I am standing the CarStar lobby and no one bothers to tell me that my rental is reserved at the Enterprise next door. How difficult would it be to communicate, "Sir, we are sorry for the mess today. Your rental is waiting for you next door, and we will call you as soon as your car is picked up by the tow truck and again when it is delivered to the shop." My insurance adjuster calls me apologizing for the chaos. It is past 430pm and no one from the shop has called me to let me know if my car has arrived or whether another tow truck was sent out to pick up my car. For all I know it is still in the AutoZone parking lot with the kets in it, and all my expensive gear in it. No communication, No customer service, No apologies or effort to make things right without me prompting them. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE AND RESEARCH A BETTER SHOP. I called their franchise corp office and was told someone would reach out within 48-72hrs. Seems like bad customer service and not communicating is just part of CarStars culture. I have had much better experiences with other shops over the years. Mediocre work, splotches of polish all over and found a random clip from repair in the cupholder. read more

Positive: The customer service was wonderful. Very accommodating and attentive. Negative: was they have sticky fingers. My car went in with a Bluetooth reciever for my radio and came up missing. Brought my car in for a minor dent, it took them about a week to complete. When I got my car back, it had scratches that obviously they did and I had to wait another half an hour to an hour for them to remove the scratches. Some moldings were not placed in the car and trying to blame me for saying that I brought the car without those moldings. In the first place, they remove the part and they are supposed to put the parts back complete specially if they replaced. NOT RECOMMENDED VERY UNPROFESSIONAL NON CUSTOMER FRIENDLY. read more

Brought our car into this shop for a small door dent repair. Car was returned with filthy interior. Dried mud and dirt on driver side floor. Seats dirty from removed parts being placed in car. Found multiple wheel well mud guard fasteners missing. Door dent repair was not professional and has imperfections from dent removal process. Nightmare experience with this shop. Took our 2013 Toyota Avalon in because an eazy-up canopy went airborne landing on top of our car. After the repair it was delivered back to us filthy dirty inside and out, the paint didn't match, and a whole list of other issues. Spoke to our insurance company (USAA) and we had to give them a second chance to make it right. I went over the whole list of issues with the owner Sal and he assured me everything would be perfect. They had the car for two weeks this time (mainly due to a one week family vacation). After getting the car home the second time my wife and I went over the list to find the issues only marginally addressed, it appears the only thing they did was buff the clear coat more to remove the orange peel. Now the car has to go to another shop to be fixed correctly leaving us without a car again. BEWARE!!!! read more

If you have to bring your vehicle to this place. I would avoid working with Ruben. I brought my car in to get the A/C fixed. Ruben had my car for a week to find out what was wrong with the A/C, when I went to pick up my car I was told that my A/C was fixed. I drove my car from Lancaster to West Hollywood for work to find out that my A/C was not fixed and that the real problem with it wasn't even looked at. I called Ruben and was told to bring my car back in on Saturday, but Ruben never showed up and I ended up having to work with another guy that hadn't worked on my car. I took my car to westside.. My car was about a month old when I was side swiped with damage done to the driver door and the lower part of my car. When I got my car back the paint was so bad.. its like they threw one coat of paint on it and then TRIED to buff it out and it looks horrible... not to mention the window leaks and they cut the rubber molding between my door and the car, so now the air goes through the door. and that is so annoying.. I DID CALL and let them know that the paint is not satisfactory.. they told me to bring the car back into the shop and they will make it look better. This shop leads you on from the first time you call them. My car was in an accident and when shopping around this shop told me they did both body work and mechanical. With many concerns mechanically we talked to them multiple times with them saying yeah its fine, and if you are really concerned take it to sierra Toyota but don't tell them it was in an accident and just have the warranty fix it. Toyota already knew, I don't own the car out right and it states in your contract that they had to be notified of any accident. They did a decent job doing the body work but it still is not fixed to the condition it was before. I would never use this place unless you already had the car inspected thoroughly elsewhere before hand. They are not forth coming or helpful. The only reason they get two stars is because they did a decent job on the body work enough that when we turn this car back in we won't get dinged that much. I wish they were a better more trustworthy shop because it would be nice to keep business in the antelope valley. read more

I have never been more frustrated or pissed off with a business. I am a very patient and understanding individual but this company is horrendous. My car was in an accident on 4/8, being 1 of 2 companies my insurance had as their body shops, I chose to give them my business. I called on 4/20 to make an appt to drop my car off, they said it would take 5 days. I dropped my car off 4/25, pick up day being the 29th. They told me they would do a tear down that same day and call me if they found any further damage. No call, figured good news. I called on 4/27 to get an update, come to find out they just did the tear down that day and that additional, minimal damage was found and that pick up would be May 6th... Okay I'll give them that. I called again 4/29 to check up, I was told everything was going good and pick up would be NO LATER than 5/6. I called again 5/4 to check up and I was told it was in the paint shop and someone would call Friday morning to tell me what time I could pick up my car. I received NO call Friday morning so I decided to call AGAIN! Guess what... My car was not ready, it hadn't even been painted yet, or started! 2 weeks they had my car, not 1 phone call was made from them to me at any point to give me an update. Yet I was told they usually call 2 times a week to inform their customers..... But for me not 1 the entire 2 weeks. Anyways, they told me today 5/9 would be the pick up day. I called this morning around 9am was told pick up time would be 5pm. At 1:20 I FINALLY received a call FROM THEM! Hoping to hear I could pick up my car earlier....NOPE! My car isn't painted yet. I can supposedly pick it up Wednesday but I doubt that. So now, I have to take time out of my work day to go physically check on my car to see if it's been painted today! This is completely unacceptable and down right the worst customer service I have ever experienced. They will be luck if they receive a dime of my deductible. read more
