We had planned an evening with friends, to celebrate a birthday. The food was marginal but edible. Not true Italian cuisine. One of their staff, by the name of Frank, would be one of the rudest, most inconsiderate persons you would ever want to meet. He ruined the evening for us and most of the other patrons. He's one employee that should be shown the door. Help like that is bad for business. We most likely will never return and wouldn't recommend it to anyone looking for enjoyable evening out. There are true Italian restaurants in Columbus with genuine Italian hospitality, but Carsonie's is not one of them. read more

You just won't believe the Stromboli there. I kid you not, it is fantastic. The best we ever had. Our server, Lisa saw to it that we had everything we needed and she never let our drinks get empty. And that sauce that comes with it and the cheesestick appetizers is very good as well. If you are in the Westerville, Ohio area, it would do you well to stop by. Arrived with a group of 7 for their buffet. We were only ones seated on patio outside. Our children were playing in their sandbox and we had to two tables together to seat everyone. Had to get our own napkins and silverware, drinks came awhile later. Old mean and grumpy male employee came over to tell us to make sure our 1 year olds don't spill any sand (yah right!) and that he was annoyed our tables were long ways instead of side by side. We did this so the little ones were contained in case anyone else came onto patio but like usual, we were the only ones the whole meal. They had no sunshade for children's area and the toys and table were scalding hot and burned their feet. :( First bite of Stromboli and find a BLACK HAIR cooked into it! So gross. Our waitress never came back out to refill unless we caught her serving someone else and asked for soda, we waited 45 minutes for a check and it never came so we had to go into the bar with all our kids to ask for it and pay. Then, when filling out the check, had to sit the kiddos down in a booth to be able to write the bill and again the old angry man said our kids were "running wild" in his restaurant (they never ran nor left the booth in the 2 minutes we waited for our check) and he was pissed off that they didn't order their own meals because they were too busy playing in the sandbox during our meal!! Said we need to work on our kids' eating habits- way out of line, mister! Raised his voice at our group of women and told us "you listen here" when we told him he'd been nothing but rude and neglectful to us since we walked in and we have been weekly regulars for a long time now. We ended up having to walk away because he was so crazy angry and aggressive and we had literally done nothing but try to have lunch. Talk about terrible service, abusive language and tone to women and children, lack of kindness and gratefulness for long time customers in a little neighborhood establishment. They clearly hate children and families. We will NEVER return. read more

The food was not bad we did get the subs but the service was not the greatest. Our waiter did not come back to the table for 25 minutes while our drinks were empty. Mind you I said we got the subs it took us almost 40 minutes to get those. I had to take our glasses up for refills. read more

I had driven past this place so many times always wanted to try it. Tonight was the night... July 11, 2015. The atmosphere is fine. Kinda homey and quaint. There was a decent bar area, numerous indoor seating with traditional red checkered table cloths and a pretty good sized patio. The place was maybe 30-40% full at 7:30 on a Saturday night. There were 5-7 waitresses, a bar attendant, an older gentleman of which I guessed was the manager/owner. The sign said wait to be seated, so I did. I waited. And waited. And waited some more. Other patrons walked in behind me and we all stood there and shrugged at each other. The bar attendant looked at us but did nothing. Waitresses walked by us but we seemed invisible. Finally a waitress acknowledged us and said she would be right with us. She finished ringing out a couple of her tables and then even though there were plenty of available tables she went and bussed off 2-3 others. The bar attendant came and chatted with her as she did so. All the other staff seemed non interested. Finally she grabbed a menu and took me to a booth. She did not ask if I preferred indoor or outdoor but lead me to a table at the far side of the restaurant by a window. Not a table she cleaned off by the way. A new waiting game. Seated finally, menu in hand and now the place is 25% full and yet no waitress insight. The older gentleman I mentioned earlier? He walked by numerous times but I guess again ai must have been covered in the invisible cloth. While I waited in the booth, menu closed and looking as hungry as possible directly in front of me in the next booth the waitress who seated me brought a tray of wet silverware to the table and stood there and dried them with a towel and very loudly threw them in another tray. Sorry to be a hater, but it was like fingers on a chalkboard and so loud! Gosh, I feel so bad about writing all this but it gets a tad better, but warning it then ends badly. Finally a waitress arrived and took my drink order. I am a diet coke drinker but they had diet pepsi which I agreed to. Good news is, it was actually pretty good! The waitress returned a short time later and took my order. It seemed to be a Stromboli place but I opted for traditional spaghetti and meatballs which came w a salad and bread for only $9.99. Things were looking up. I had a cold drink, had placed my order and I looked forward to my salad. I was hungry after all and had waited so long just to be seated. I mean how long should a salad take? 5 minutes? 10 maybe on a busy Saturday night. Oh wait, it wasn't busy. But idk ...15 minutes???? Naw, in about 20 minutes the waitress shows up with no, not my salad, but my entree. She tells me, "I don't know why your spaghetti came up first (she looked bewildered) so do you still want your salad?" I told her I did. She then disappeared around the corner and I watched her put together my salad and she promptly brought it to me. I guess it was just easier to blame it on the kitchen. Okay the food. The salad was decent. Fresh lettuce, generous croutons, cheese and salad dressing was fine. The buttered roll was good as well. Just one. It was warm and buttered on top. Spaghetti was the disappointment. The sauce had a bitter (been in the pot all day) taste, the requested additional mushrooms were awful, crazy dark, overly chewy as if they were way too old to serve but hey who would notice if you cover them with dark, burnt spaghetti sauce? Yeah, well bad old mushrooms taster like dirt and even burned sauce won't help. The good though were the meatballs. Two large meatballs both rather tasty. Finished the meal and the waitress brought me my check. I gave her my cc and when she returned she informed me she took off the salad (I thanked her) and she quickly left. Again my meal was $9.99 including salad and bread. My check... $9.99 plus $2.49 for soda. Maybe she meant she took my salad off the table???? I just wanted to leave. I gave her a gracious 15% tip and left. Never to return. The two stars? One for good meatballs. One for good diet pepsi. Before I finished this review I decided to read the other reviews. Wow, interestingly people bragged about the Stromboli. Should've ordered that I guess. There were other positive reviews but I am sorry they are hard to believe. Maybe thats what the manager and waitresses were so busy doing? Writing fake reviews? Oddly enough the other negative reviews sound much like my experience! Bad, really bad service and marginal at best food. So many better choices in Westerville/Easton area. Avoid this place! read more

The wife and I had been looking forward to a calzone all day. We were both horribly disappointed. The dough was overly dry. It was not a 'calzone' shaped, more like a canole or a pastry tart. Tiny little things for $25. The sauce was passable, very little cheese. Not impressed at all. Will never go back there. read more

We ordered stromboli & salad carryout for a family gathering a few weeks ago and I wanted to comment on our experience. The strombolis were excellent, as usual. But we also ordered a large salad tray, which was not listed on the menu. It was a simple salad with cheese & dressings on the side. I expected it would run $20 to $25, but they did not give me a price over the phone & I failed to ask (my fault!), Carsonie's charged us $55!!!!! for a simple salad! My advice: Pick up your salad at the Olive Garden... it will be 1/2 the price and it comes with breadsticks. read more

Best Stromboli I have ever had, and the fettucini was wonderful. Def, def, definitely recommend the elephant ears for dessert!

We got there Friday at 6:30. There were a few people ahead of us. After 30 min. a party of five said they had been waiting 45 min. and were leaving. We had five and a baby, so we thought it shouldn't be much longer. After an hour wait we asked the Gentleman seating people how much longer, his reply "I don't know". He was extremely rude and seemed incapable of handling a some what busy night. We left as did eight other people behind us. We will never go back. Too many places that treat you better. read more

I'm extremely disappointed with my Carsonie's experience. I decided to order dinner for an extended family holiday meal, because I've heard from several people that their stromboli is the best around. Well, the stromboli was good, but the customer service was awful. I called the day before to order the meal and a friendly employee wrote down the order. Then I called back later that evening to add to the order. No one could find the first order, so another employee wrote it all down again, saying that they would be sure to have it ready the next day at 5pm. The next day when my son arrived to pick it up, he was told no one had rung in the order, so they hadn't prepared any of it and it would be a 35 minute wait. Then 55 minutes later, the order was ready. Everything was there, but the $7.99 dinner salad I ordered turned into a full pan dinner salad for $66.00. Now the dinner I planned to spend $90 on turned into $150, and was an hour late. I think I'll choose another restaurant next time. read more

We stopped in the Westerville location with our children and some of our family. We had a larger party, but we decided last minute that we would eat there as we were viewing the ice sculptures downtown. We had a larger party (7 people) and walked in to see if there was room. The gentleman that waited on us first asked if we had called ahead because we had a lot of people. When we apologized and said no and said we could eat somewhere else if it was a problem and if there wasn't any room he got a huge attitude and told us to calm down and chill. With such a poor attitude, we told him never mind and thanked him and proceeded to leave. He huffed and sighed and made a big deal. When I told him I was not fond of the customer service he said he didn't care because he was the owner and it was his restaurant. We received the WORST customer service I ever have at a restaurant. I was even telling our out of town guest how great it was. Boy was I wrong! We will NEVER return to EITHER location of Carsonie's. And you know that it is bad when your children ask why the man inside was SO mean to you. Please do not support this business!! read more
