This Mid-Size Family Restaurant and Pizza Pub offers an atmosphere that I*mmediately reminds me of Pensacola Beach near the Pier, St. Augstine Beachside, and some Carolina Family Resorts - although it's located in a staid, suburban location. . It did help that the weather was like being beachside on a Mach afternoon - just above 60 degrees with a light 3-5 mph wind. The Sun was out, the Cafe lights at the Bar just came on, and the Monday Night Bocce League was chucking wooden balls from one end of the arean to the other, all the while, gentle, non-sensical conversations were filling the air. 1970s Classic Rock softly filled the background noise. . But, we only came for Food - and always love a new place to eat. Since it was our first time, we ordered a Calamari Appetizer and two Standard Italian Entrees: I grabbed the Baked Ziti while my wife ordered the Fried Fish. . She's a little spoiled, being a Filipino: She is not a fan of Fish Sticks of Any kind - even if they were upscale and tasted fresh, as these did. So, we switched plates. .. I really enjoyed the Fish Fillets. The White Fish ?Cod? was fresh and not pasty, the breading was not cumbersome in any way, the oil was fresh - probably Vegetable - and I devoured it. It was quite a bit above average for Fried Fish, without being top-tier, like you'd find at a Lakeside Popup Stand at Buckeye Lake. The Fries were good, mild salt and still had slivers of skin on the fries. I still think they were pre-packaged, but they were done better than you'd ever manage at home, without going to extra measures. . My Wife's Ziti was very Good, too. It was more than she could eat - she was partially full before we sat down and the Soda + Calamari nearly filled her tummy. That was fine, we doggie bagged it and shared my fries and watched Bocce for about an hour. That was quite a bit of Fun - Especially on a Monday Night - without being loud and obnoxious - just pleasant, like enjoying GenXers and Boomers throw Wooden Balls back and forth and cheering casually and sharing company. . Our total Bill: Two Sodas, Calamari, Baked Ziti, Fish Fillet, came to a Total of $56. Somewhat Reasonable and we had leftovers (The Baked Ziti), which I devoured two days later. It was so much better after resting in the Fridge: like Fine Italian Cuisine more than Run-of-the_Mill Homemade Ziti. . It's not the best, but it's a place WE WILL RETURN to just to try out their pizza and sit inside and soak up the ambiance. You know the several times I've come here, I've always expected something maybe a little bit more. Things are just OK/good. Not great. We had the mozzarella sticks, which are clearly not made in house, but OK. We had the buffalo cauliflower which was tasty. We had the Italian fries which are pizza dough strips for dipping. Upon arriving, we noticed the huge enclosed patio area with full bar, ample parking, family friendly atmosphere in the heart of Westerville. Service was amazing in the bathrooms were extremely clean. My Parmesan fries couldn't have been better but I think my favorite thing was the coleslaw as it tasted just like my mother's. Also, I enjoyed having a window seat where I could see all the locals shuffling in on a Friday after work. The owner even stopped by our table to say thank you for coming in. read more

Cheryl was super friendly and great energy - she was very helpful with the menu and described how the Stromboli and sauce are homemade - explaining that's why the Stromboli takes 30 minutes - no problem - I was excited and glad to wait!!! I have always heard rave reviews on Carsonies food. Since I did not have a car and did not feel cooking. Had a taste for lasagna I decided to order delivery and see what all the hype is about. I have never been so disappointed in a food order, I could have ordered from Fazoli's, received a much better lasagna with garlic bread for $10.49. I could have ordered from Angie on Karl Rd, they have a great lasagna with lots of cheese, a nice piece of garlic bread, plus a salad for less then $14.00. Carsonies lasagna, I could not find any meat or cheese other than on top of sauce. I am not sure what kind of dry bread that came with the meal, that I paid $17.00 for. Basing my review off service- So disappointed. Used to live in the area back around 2017/2018 and would dine here weekly, loved it and Frank in there sometimes the girls always working. Service, Food and beer were always spot on. We were traveling through Columbus tonight as we live out of town now. I was so excited to have a stromboli for the first time in years! We ordered ahead and planned to pick it up on our way.. Came to pick up and they literally made me feel crazy because they couldnt find my order. I go back out to my car, screaming kids now because it's been so long, and take my phone in to comfirm the number I called to place an order. Yes, all correct. Yet, the manager decided to make me feel like it was somehow my fault and continue to remind me that they do not have an order... When I had an outbound call for 3 min talking to a gentleman that confirmed, it'll be ready in 30min.. Regardless, I used to serve and manage myself back in the day and I am just astonished at the lack of hospitality from the manager on duty. No, I'm sorry, when clearly a server didnt submit our order. No, I can get one in but it'll take another 30 min (because yes they cook that long). I have been a fan of Carsonie's for so long! Their Strombolis were one of my favorite items to get. Our most recent order of Stromboli's was not so great, we couldn't figure out why at first....but it's the bread! They used to use actual good quality dough, and it was chewy and dense in the best way. The current dough just reminds me of those pillsbury dough rolls at the grocery store. Taste and texture was completely off. Not sure if the cheese changed as well or it the new dough made this Stromboli meh. I'm really hoping it was just a fluke but if this is the new recipe they're using, I'll get off my Stromboli train. The quality is just not worth it for the price. read more

My experience at Carsonie's was okay, which is why I'll give it a 3/5 stars. I wouldn't recommend nor not recommend coming here, it was simply average. They are known for their Stromboli's which is why I decided to try this place. Mine came out between cold and lukewarm even though the restaurant was empty so I don't know how that happens unless that's just how they come out of the oven. The Stromboli itself wasn't anything to write home about, would rate it a 6.1/10 because it had a nice crispness to it. Tasted closely like any other Stromboli I've had before. They are on the expensive side, $14 for a small and $24 for a large. I completely ate my small Stromboli and could easy still go eat another meal so I don't know if it's completely worth the price. Energy was definitely off. I sat at the bar. Bartender got me a drink (mediocre martini...but whatever.) She was hustling- I'll give her that. But she had plenty of time to ensure other patrons had what they needed. Walked past me multiple times while waiting on others. I finally had to ask the manager for a menu. Whatever. Even after seeing me with a menu, the manager took my order. Literally the only interaction I had with her was when she took my drink order/ brought my drink and when I had to flag her down for my check. YET she had plenty of time to ask other patrons if everything was okay and if they needed anything else. Location has a touch tunes machine. I've been to Carsonie's a couple times over the years and have always found it to be just alright. We were literally the only table in the place today and had sub-par service. We shared several dishes - the Italian fries, ultimate loaded fries and pepperoni pizza. The Italian fries really reminded me of funnel cakes - just a *little* less sweet. Probably not worth the calories, in my opinion. The ultimate Loaded fries were pretty good - crisp, hot, and loaded (as the name would imply) with a good amount of pepperoni, bacon and cheese. Ordered 3 pizzas and a salad for carryout. All 3 pizzas were cold, greasy and pretty disgusting. All 3, except for a few pieces, were thrown straight in the trash. My girl and I came here for the first time to try it out. Service was very slow. When they finally took our order, she let us know that pizza or Stromboli would take up to 45 mins (also posted in the restaurant as well as the menu) We thought that was ok and placed our order, put in a couple drinks and some salads to tie us over til the Stromboli was done. When I got my salad, I noticed a strange looking "stem", I assumed. When I touched it, it felt cold and very hard. I pulled it out and it was a nail. A literal nail you could hammer into a wall. I notified the server and she took it back and brought me a new one she insisted she watched the guy in back make. By that point we decided to cancel our orders, pay for our drinks and leave. I can't believe I've lived in Westerville almost all my life and just now tried Carsonie's. Even though it took me this long, I'm glad to have broken the seal. I ordered a cup of the wedding soup to start and holy wow. The soup was incredibly flavorful and full of pasta, spinach, and meatballs. This is a must order for me going forward, even on a really hot day. I had the Chicken Carsonie for my meal, but I did all alfredo sauce because I don't like anything tomato. The chicken was incredibly crispy and cheesy and I really liked their alfredo sauce. It also came with a house made roll that was great. I of course got dessert and tried their tiramisu which was delicious. The reason for my docked star is because of service only. We were seated inside as we aren't outside dining people and it was a hot day. However we were clearly in the minority because the patio was packed. I'm not sure if this is why we rarely saw our server but after we ordered we didn't see her again until it was time to pay. We ended up flagging down another server who was really kind and helped get us parmesan (which our server told us she would bring), butter, and even took our dessert orders and brought the desserts out.
