Terrible terrible lasagna, dry with noodles, sticking together, an overwhelming, cinnamon taste.
Candice T.

Upon arriving, we noticed the huge enclosed patio area with full bar, ample parking, family friendly atmosphere in the heart of Westerville. Service was amazing in the bathrooms were extremely clean. My Parmesan fries couldn't have been better but I think my favorite thing was the coleslaw as it tasted just like my mother's. Also, I enjoyed having a window seat where I could see all the locals shuffling in on a Friday after work. The owner even stopped by our table to say thank you for coming in.

Fish Platter

Soooo we order the original Stromboli and the fish platter. Stromboli made to absolute perfection. The dipping sauce very good. Tried the fish platter with fries and coleslaw. Both pretty good but not the fish. Pieces of the fish seem not chewable. Didn't like it but will definitely try something else next time. Topped off the meal with Canoli and I must say it was delicious.

Always the best stromboli in central Ohio . Can't go wrong with it. They say they have the best fish in Columbus and I disagree strongly.

Great Food, Greatest Service! We reached out to David at Carsonie's to be our caterer for our wedding in Delaware, Ohio on May 31st. We got everything we had hoped for on our wedding day, David and his son came well prepared to serve our guests (130) with a pasta buffet and appetizers! We had absolutely no worries about timing and food prep the day of and received excellent dinner. Everybody has been asking us where the food was from to go try some more ! We are so happy we reached out to them, and thankful for the exceptional service that was provided on our special day! Thank you Carsonie's!

Pros: Good location and lots of parking Decent Menu with lots of options Amble seating Has a full bar Cons: Wait staff not very friendly Wait times can be long for larger groups Not much light in dining area Pro tip: Leave plenty of time if you are placing a carryout order. They can get pretty backed up.

I have always heard rave reviews on Carsonies food. Since I did not have a car and did not feel cooking. Had a taste for lasagna I decided to order delivery and see what all the hype is about. I have never been so disappointed in a food order, I could have ordered from Fazoli's, received a much better lasagna with garlic bread for $10.49. I could have ordered from Angie on Karl Rd, they have a great lasagna with lots of cheese, a nice piece of garlic bread, plus a salad for less then $14.00. Carsonies lasagna, I could not find any meat or cheese other than on top of sauce. I am not sure what kind of dry bread that came with the meal, that I paid $17.00 for. I guess it is more of a bar then a real restaurant, if I was drunk the food have might have tasted great. Don't waste your time if you have a taste for pasta.

New and not improved dough

I have been a fan of Carsonie's for so long! Their Strombolis were one of my favorite items to get. Our most recent order of Stromboli's was not so great, we couldn't figure out why at first....but it's the bread! They used to use actual good quality dough, and it was chewy and dense in the best way. The current dough just reminds me of those pillsbury dough rolls at the grocery store. Taste and texture was completely off. Not sure if the cheese changed as well or it the new dough made this Stromboli meh. I'm really hoping it was just a fluke but if this is the new recipe they're using, I'll get off my Stromboli train. The quality is just not worth it for the price.

Great Stromboli! They have the best Stromboli crust around. This was a good rainy day lunch treat. They were very busy for lunch and the service was still excellent. Very authentic atmosphere here.

From the time we walked in the door, a gentleman in the kitchen looked up and said greeted us. (There's a door so you can see into the kitchen from the foyer) I later learned it was Dave Pasqualone himself. We were promptly shown to our table and within a few minutes, a gentleman by the name of Chris introduced himself and told us what the specials for the evening were. Everything sounded great but my girlfriend picked the saccettini with the amatriciana sauce and I had the veal scalopini with a small side of saccettini. The meal was PERFECT! You could taste richness of the homemade saccettini stuffed with cheese. I was told that the pasta for the lasagna noodles are made on site which is used for the saccettini. The veal scallopini was so tender, I could cut it with a fork. Not too many capers, the right combination of butter, white wine and lemon. My girlfriend's amatriciana sauce (she was kind enough to give me a taste of two) had a little bit of a bite to it but not too much. It was mouth watering. We finished off the evening with a homemade cannoli which was superb. Towards the end of the evening, Dave came out into the dining room and personally greeted each table. We learned that Dave was the head chef at Monaco's Palace on Cleveland Ave many years ago. They always had wonderful food. To find this gem of a restaurant in Northeast Columbus, in a part of town where many restaurants come and go each month or year, is like finding a needle in a haystack. This quiet little Italian restaurant is tucked away in an unassuming strip mall that was incredibly popular in the 80's and 90's and has been churning out delicious homemade Italian dishes for over 20 years. We will definitely become regular patrons of this gem of a place. Thank you Dave, Chris and the other members of their staff to make a date night with my girlfriend a memorable experience.

On top of that some nice spices. The pepperoni was super flavorful and there was PLENTY on the pizza. It was super flavorful, I was only able to finish about half of it. I also ordered a cherry and apple pastries to take home. Oh my!! The pastries had plenty of fruit filling in them and so tasty. On to service, Lisa is definitely a superstar. I can't remember her name but she had long hair and it was braided or in dreads. Service sucked and she could careless. And the other bartender never did come around. The Polaris location is large and has a decent patio. The bar/lounge area is pretty big too, that's where we were sat when we came in for a weekend meal. Started with drinks and some apps. The cocktails were small and kind of meh. They only had 2 drafts, Stella & Peroni. I like both but it was strange that they had no other selections. The worst part was by far the food. Arancini - 6/10, nice crispy texture but the taste was a bit unexpected, like the added a bit too much Gorgonzola. Calamari - 7/10, a bit chewy but with a nice crisp, missing something fresh. Beef carpaccio - 2/10, Marcella's used to have an absolutely delicious carpaccio... this was a bit of an abomination. Beef slices too thick, crispy flatbread that broke up when I looked at it wrong, a white sauce on top that made the whole dish worse. Absolutely do not recommend. Dinner was a few pizzas 2/10 (read: precooked flatbreads with subpar toppings). The crispy potato "pizza" needs to be taken off the menu. Garlic sauce, cheese and these awful, overcooked potato chips. It was inedible - all 5 people at the table tried it but put their slice down after the first or second bite. Pizza Margherita DOC was a very salty, tomatoey thing. I think the grocery store version would be a better choice. We also shared the Pepperoni Sausage with mushrooms which was better, but it was undercooked and watery. Our friends got the Carbonara Pasta and said it was ok, but did not want to take their leftovers home. I don't get the hype or appeal of Marcella's whatsoever. Our server was fine, the food was terrible, ambiance is meh. Will not return.

Instead, it came with two small pieces of something unidentifiable and some American gorgonzola--very little blue cheese overall. The meats were overly fatty, and most of them were left on the board. I ordered the chicken giardiniera for my entrée, and it was a letdown. It was essentially a breaded schnitzel topped with chopped tomatoes, which completely ruined the breading. The cocktails were the highlight of the night--strong and well made. Unfortunately, the wine pricing was hard to justify. A bottle of Matua that retails for around $10 was priced at $40. Between the disappointing food and inflated prices, this isn't a place I'd return to.
