I called 10 minutes before close and spoke with an employee who promised to get back with me in the morning. I was called by Chuck, the owner, within an hour. He did not have the part in-stock, but was very willing to order one at about 1/2 the price of Midas. We discussed options and he referred me to a local shop to see if they could fix the rim without us buying a new one. Chuck took the time out of his evening to help us out and didn't make a dime. I had my oil changed, and needed some bulbs and thought I might need a new battery. Napa will test a battery, but they don't replace them there. The guy did his best to get his tester connected, but the battery in my car is tucked away in a very inconvenient place. He noted the large amount of corrosion on the positive terminal and said if I cleaned that up, my problems should be solved as battery terminal corrosion will cause it to lose power. Fast forward to a few hours and a bit of elbow grease later, and I was able to disassemble what I needed to and gave the terminal a thorough cleaning. The car immediately sounded better when I started it. It helped that he even knew a shortcut to get to the battery that's actually better than the method that had been used. Thanks!!

When I needed a tire repair, I came to Pep Boys because there was convenient online booking and…read moreplenty of availability, and I felt unsafe driving my car with a damaged tire. Larry at the front desk was very friendly and helpful, and I appreciate his help. These are the reasons they get 2 stars instead of 1. Unfortunately, after my tire was unable to be repaired and I had a set of 4 new tires put on, I went on my way, but something felt off. My tire pressure light was still coming on sporadically, the drive felt uncomfortable, and there was a rattling sound coming from the front driver side. Upon further inspection, I discovered that all four new tires had been inflated to 40 psi, well above the 33 psi specified by my vehicle's manufacturer. Additionally, the hub cap on the front driver side tire (call back to the rattling sound) was installed in a way that I could hardly get the valve cap off, so I had to remove it to check my tire pressure. I am pretty disappointed in Pep Boys for allowing me to drive away with overinflated tires. I am not a car person, but I know how to read the specified tire pressure on my car. This not only demonstrates laziness, but a disregard for their customer's safety. Overinflated tires are extremely dangerous, and with the distance I drive on the interstate every day, I could have easily had a blown out tire and been seriously injured or injured another driver. I will not be returning for any further service, and I will not be recommending Pep Boys to anyone I know. To everyone: don't go into an auto shop and trust that they know more or better than you. Do your research. Ask questions. Check. Their. Work. Could save your life.
