After doing the diagnostic he just walks away not saying anything. I asked if he was done, if I should follow and can I turn my car off. he replied by throwing his arms in the air " well I have to go in first to plug it into the computer, uh yea turn your car off". We get inside he prints off the paper and before I even get to fully look at it and ask questions he yell can I help the next person( while I'm still at the counter). And to add to it all he asked me for my vehicle registration... I've never been asked that for a simple OD check. Especially when I can provide all information he needs by heart.

I had my oil changed, and needed some bulbs and thought I might need a new battery. Napa will test a battery, but they don't replace them there. The guy did his best to get his tester connected, but the battery in my car is tucked away in a very inconvenient place. He noted the large amount of corrosion on the positive terminal and said if I cleaned that up, my problems should be solved as battery terminal corrosion will cause it to lose power. Fast forward to a few hours and a bit of elbow grease later, and I was able to disassemble what I needed to and gave the terminal a thorough cleaning. The car immediately sounded better when I started it. It helped that he even knew a shortcut to get to the battery that's actually better than the method that had been used. Thanks!!

Do please, apply all possible discounts. Took 45 min start to finish. Fine tires, good price. Will they last? Very likely. My tips: 1. Make sure you have the price correctly negotiated before you start. There are a lot of trainees here, and they can screw up-- they're new. Ask what will be done. Make sure that what they tell you is what you need before you proceed. 2. Do your research on their website, which is better than other tire stores and repair shops online. You can even go to the local library, ask to use Mitchell Online, and know exactly what they'll charge based on Mitchell's estimates, which are thorough and easy to make on the library's license of the software. Mitchell estimates a bit to the high-side, but any mechanic will tell you that stuff happens, and Mitchell gives them some leeway. Example: if you want an alternator changed, there are different steps for different vehicles; some will be more stubborn than others. This lists the labor steps needed to do the job correctly. Print it at the library and take it with you if you want. The Mitchell Online software isn't too tough to use, although the first time you use it, you'll scratch your head until you get used to it. Remember that the estimator also scratches their head in the same way. 3. Have realistic expectations. No one likes to pay the repair costs, just like few people like to pay preventative maintenance. Some people live one pay check to the next. Automobile safety isn't just for the owner or driver of the car, it's for all of us. Not trying to preach, but taking responsibility for one's actions is important. Tires, brakes, steering, all of these are safety items. Overall, my experience was fine, just had to wade through and resist the upsell.

It took about five minutes. Advance auto did a diagnostic test which showed the same diagnostic. They also did a vehicle check which I did ask for or authorize. They did't find anything else other then the original bank one sensor. They charge me $155.00 for a diagnostic that I had already received from another shop for free. They never mentioned the vehicle inspection or the charge for it until the vehicle was ready for pickup. Never again.
