Edgar and Juan from Better Air Northwest were absolutely awesome at the job they completed for us!…read moreWe needed a custom solution to cool down a small closet and have a duct under our house fixed. Better Air Northwest sent out an estimator (Eric) for free. He was really nice, helpful, and figured out how to solve our issue for a reasonable price! We received the estimate per email a couple days later and unlike other companies, no pressure was put on us to approve the job right away - instead we were given as long as we needed to discuss and ponder. As soon as we approved the estimate, we were contacted so we could get on the schedule. Somehow Edgar and Juan asked and also answered all the questions at the very beginning and we were able to do other things while they did these 2 jobs like the true professionals they are. They started by taping everything in the room with the closet, and it kept everything so clean! (Although they did clean up after - and left the place tidier than it started haha - not even kidding they cleaned our doormat I forgot to clean prior to their arrival!) The attached pictures were provided by them and show the beautiful job they did! But I've seen other little touches that proof they are all about getting the job done right. Could not have hoped for better - I would hire them and Better Air Northwest again anytime for any job they perform!

I recently used Better Air Northwest for a full cleaning of the HVAC ducts in my 5200 square foot…read morehome which hadn't been professionally cleaned in over three years. I was impressed by the process from start to finish and the noticeable difference in air quality afterward. The scheduling process was easy and transparent. I called on a Tuesday, and they were able to fit me within two weeks. The office staff clearly explained the pricing structure (which was fixed based on the size of the house, with optional add-ons like dryer vent cleaning) and sent a confirmation text the day before. The technicians, Andreas & Cody, called me 50 minutes before arrival, right arrived pretty close to the promised time. I knew there was construction down the street so I figured they would be delayed due to stopped traffic. The two arrived in a well-marked truck and was immediately professional. They took time to explain the negative pressure vacuum system they use, which involved hooking up a large hose to the main duct trunk near the furnace. They wore boot covers inside the house, which I appreciated. The cleaning itself involved systematically sealing off all registers and then using powerful air whips into each vent to agitate and loosen all the debris. They showed me the incredible amount of dirt, dust, and junk they removed from the main trunk--it was genuinely shocking and visually compelling. When finished with the vents they took on the dryer. The lint cleaned out of the vent and the filter was surprising. I expect the drying cycles will be quicker with a clean system. The entire process took approximately 5 hours. Once finished, they sealed up the access holes they created cleanly. There were only two rooms where they forgot to move furniture back in place. The immediate difference was significant: the air in the house feels fresher and less "stuffy," and the HVAC system runs noticeably quieter. I am confident that the removal of years of dust and allergens will benefit our household, especially during allergy season. Better Air Northwest delivered exactly what they promised: professional service, clear communication, and excellent results. I highly recommend them if you are looking to improve your indoor air quality.

They fixed some damage caused by other contractors to the exterior vent cover and piping and I'm not sure our dryer has ever worked so well. Their bid was not the lowest, but during the time spent preparing the bid they really convinced me that they knew what they were doing and would not cut any corners. From what I can tell they did not. I would heartily recommend them for any dryer venting needs you might have and suspect they do as fine a job with HVAC ducting as well.

I am not sure what the parallel is to Hawaii or San Diego. In Hawaii and San Diego, contractors fail to show up to work when the surf is high. In Vancouver... who knows, but getting contractors in general to show up is a major pain. J & M is the exception and they are exceptional. They showed up as scheduled, they stayed within their bid and they did an excellent job of coordinating the permit and following up. I will absolutely hire them when I start my next house and highly recommend them.

Really impressed with this company. I was able to get an appointment fairly quickly for duct…read morecleaning. Pricing was transparent and communication was excellent, and the technicians called when they were on their way and arrived right on time. While inspecting the ducting, they discovered a section that needed to be fixed. My home warranty would cover that fix, but only if I use their approved contractor. So I couldn't have J&M Services fix the duct nor clean the ducting that day. They ended up only charging me for the dryer vent cleaning that they were able to complete that day. They were very honest and helpful, and I will definitely be calling on them again for their services. Highly recommend!

Outstanding Service from a True Local Family Business! I…read morecouldn't be happier with the service I received from A+ Carpet Cleaning. As a small, family-owned business local to the Portland area, they truly go above and beyond for their customers. From the very first phone call, Chantal was professional, friendly, and incredibly helpful. She responded to my follow-up email promptly and with the same level of care. When I explained my situation, Mike (the owner) personally squeezed me into his already busy schedule for the very next day -- even driving out of his way to my home in Sandy. The travel fee was more than worth it for the quality of service I received. I had a particularly tough biohazard pet stain (not urine, but still a real challenge). I had already tried cleaning it three times myself with a home carpet shampoo vacuum with zero success. Mike assessed the situation right away, recommended the perfect combination of services and products for my specific issue, and completely resolved it. The results were incredible -- the stain and odor are completely gone. A+ Carpet Cleaning delivered excellent, professional work from start to finish. If you're in the Portland area and need carpet cleaning you can trust, look no further. I highly recommend them and will definitely be calling them again!

He first asked me questions to see if I really needed his services. Per my answers, he really didn't see an issue. But I made an appointment just to make sure. John was super nice and answered all of my questions. The outside vent cover was super old and brittle and he replaced it. I was watching everything he was doing so I could learn. He pointed out some things to keep an eye out for, but with my setup he said that I should never need service. And if anyone said so, he'd be skeptical. I told him that's why I had his number in my phone. He provided a lot of value with the information he was sharing with me. Trustworthy and all around nice guy. I highly recommend his services.

He proceeded to blame me for not being out there to oversee his work while he was doing it. I was five steps away inside my home. He merely had to come in and ask me to join him, which he did not. He blamed the prior job for making him late as they "added items" to which he was not there to do. Not! My! Fault! and not a reason to rush through my job and blame me for his mistakes. I have never been spoked to so disrespectfully by someone I was paying to do work. I will never use him again, nor recommend. Additionally, he is EXPENSIVE!
