I would say my dryer will now be more efficient! So glad OPDC cleaned the dryer vent!

Highly recommend! What a great job Steve and his son, Hunter did! So trustworthy, on-time, efficient, took the time to explain everything and left everything everywhere they worked in clean condition. They take great pride in their work. They used the proper equipment which meant a thorough cleaning..NO shop vac! They also cleaned the dryer vent and so glad they did. See the picture of the chunks of dust they cleaned. I didn't realize how dusty dirty it was. My dryer should take less time to dry clothes now. So fortunate to have found Oregon Premier Duct Cleaning!

Here's the special on the back of his truck. My house has "up to ten vents" and so qualified. Only $89.95.

Steve and his son were great. Great service, on time, and transparent. We will use them again and recommend to friends. First company that didn't charge more than their special stated for duct cleaning. I bought a permanent air filter from him which another company quoted me $150 a couple years ago.

This was before OPHI cleaned our vents... Yuck!

Steve also noticed a very small gas leak around our water heater that lead to the gas company coming out to take a look.

A few years ago, I had water stains in my guest bedroom from possible water seepage. While another company insisted on cutting through the ceiling, Vicente took the time to inspect the crawl space and found a solution without unnecessary damage. He provided clear options and replaced the insulation, even repairing the ceiling from the prior work. Alcon is professional, affordable, and trustworthy. I wouldn't hesitate to have them handle any insulation needs.

They made an appointment to give me a free cost estimate to insulate my barn. They arrived promptly on time and sent a cost estimate the next day. I asked if they offered a Veterans or old age discount and they immideatly discounted the estimate by 250.00. Work started on time and after I personally saw what a good job they were doing and how hard they were working I told Monica to disregard my discount and put me back at full price. With their attention to detail and quality of work completed I even added a tip to the final cost. I would highly recomend Vincente and his team for any insulation work you want to have done. Good people great work ethics.

From the moment I booked the appointment, the communication was clear, friendly, and everything ran like clockwork. Technician Dane Shepherd arrived right on time with his a friendly smile and a handshake that immediately put me at ease. As a former service electronics technician myself, I truly appreciated watching a pro at work. Dane thoroughly diagnosed my HVAC system - testing the 24VAC to the gas valve, checking ohm resistance on the high-limit switch, flame sensor and inspecting the HSI igniter, measuring air/heat ratios, and verified the in the house heat vents blowing 112F of air. Along with a long list of additional tests. His attention to detail and systematic approach were outstanding. Dane was not only highly skilled but also polite, patient, and happy to explain what he was doing every step of the way. The work was completed perfectly, and my system is running smooth and better. Revival Heating & Cooling has earned me a customer for life. If you want honest, knowledgeable, and top-tier service from a company that truly cares, look no further. I highly recommend them - and ask for Dane if you can!

The water heater was installed 2 1/2 years ago by Rivival Heating and the anode rod needed to be replaced because "Portland water is so hard and full of minerals". The original quote for labor alone (not covered under warranty) was $340 but we got the manager to bring it down to $250. Still, the water heater is only 2 1/2 years old and that was an expense we did not anticipate when we bought the water heater. The prior one was not broken but when we had Rivival replace our furnace, they strongly suggested replacing the water heater at the same time. The old one never produced brown water but after just two years, the new one did. Maybe the water heater wasn't as good as the previous one? Not sure... Forgot to add, my home warranty service said they could not reimburse me because this is a "warranty issue". And to be truthful, the furnace job was great! Just wish the water heater repair didn't cost me anything. Next year, when it is out of warranty, I'll be able to file for reimbursement from my home warranty provider.

Northwest Weatherization - Gaps big enough for critters maybe even wasps or yellow jackets

I never thought I could get soooo excited about insulation....but I am!!!…read more Northwest Weatherization came out last week and added blow-in insulation in my attic. They were easy to communicate with, fast and handled all the rebate paperwork so I didn't have to. Our 2000sf house was built in the the 50's-prior blown in insulation was between 4-7" depending on where you measured in attic. I'm the Summers, our house was an oven, Winters an icebox. No central heating: just cadet wall heaters (all new). Although we try to be as conservative as possible with heating, our electric bill jumps to about $400/month when it gets cold. (We even have new windows/doors.) The insulation was blown in on the 10th, day or so after was that first really cold day:outside thermometer said 36*F when I woke up. Went to the living room/kitchen, no heat on all night. Absolute noticeable difference: it wasn't toasty, but usually if is 36 outside, with no heat on inside, the interior temp might be 45 on a good day. Already, the interior temperature is remaining much more consistent and we are running the heat way less. We had to have a few extras done, to meet codes, but even with that, after rebates our total was just over $2600. Considering how much costs for everything have gone up, I imagine it would have been way less if I would have done this 3 years ago when I first started thinking about it. I don't know how their prices compare to others, I just wanted it done asap so I didn't shop around like I usually do. However, I'm very happy with the price, the company and the results so far. REALLY looking forward to seeing next month's bill!

I was willing to go with Northwest Weatherization on the strength of their reputation and reviews,…read moreeven though they cost more than another company I was considering. But they completely dropped the ball on my efforts to find out whether they could truly insulate my 110-year-old frame home. After coming to my home twice -- once to give an initial estimate, the second time to look what was beneath the original siding (nothing but studs, it turned out) -- they were supposed to let me know whether they could do the job, and if the price would change. They never got back to me despite several text and phone call messages to Justin, the technician for the company. So I went with the other company. Disappointed at the poor customer service.

I recently purchased a home that needed a lot of love and Greensavers was one of the contractors that gave me a bid for work paid for by a home energy improvement loan. Two weeks before Greensavers were to come I called a different mechanical contractor to do a routine furnace maintenance. The tech discovered the unit was damaged. It was possible it could leak gas. I had a negative expereince with the contractor (another company) who performed the service. I did not feel comfortable moving forward with that company to do the furnace replacement so I called Greensavers the same day. I explained the situation, that the furnace needed to stay off even though it was getting colder and Mira came out that same day to work through the options with me. This required a lot of leg work for Mira and the team as supply chain issues for HVAC units, HVAC sizing, schedule and availability, space and electrical constraints, incentive programs and budget all had to be considered. There were so many moving parts! Within a couple of business days she had reviewed the incentives, consulted their HVAC techs, project managers, schedulers and gave me several options that would keep the total project dollar amount at the same level as the original scope of work and with the potential to get the job done soon so that the house would have heat. We walked through all of the potential pros and cons of the new scope of work: full electrification, air sealing, weatherization and ultimately landed on a plan that would improve comfort, energy efficiency, air quality and actually ended up costing less than the original scope. The team actually managed to get both the HVAC replacement and the weatherization job scheduled and completed during the same time frame for which the original job has been scheduled - despite the huge changeup in scope. When Mira handed off the job to Charlie (the project manager) and Daniel (the field crew lead) I was so impressed with how customer service oriented they were: they always asked me about the tradeoffs and gave their honest opinions about whether aspects of the job were worth it. Even seemingly little stuff - like would I still want the door weather stripping if there were a possibility it might damaged the newly renovated hardwoods - showed me they not just there to check a box - they were acting like partners in this project and showing they cared about my house and much as I do. This is a firm that specializes in clean electrification and we went deep into considering full electrification of this home, but due to sizing and supply chain issues it just didn't seem practical to go that route given that the heat was off and it could push the job out significantly. Charlie explained a few future options where an attic heat pump could use the furnace as auxiliary heat during cold weather days. I hadn't heard of this option before but when I checked with my energy efficiency and heat pump expert friends they were all aware that this was a great option for people who for reasons like mine ended up having to go with a gas furnace replacement due to timing, budget or both. Charlie and the crew always advocated for the best solution practical even if that meant that I would end up paying them less for the job overall. I super appreciated his and Mira's friendly and proactive approach to answering questions, explaining options and working with constraints. This week their crews came and did a fast, clean and efficient job of installing the new furnace and thermostat, insulating and air sealing the unfinished basement and HVAC ducts. They thought through all of the little details - they ran the line for the furnace condensate pump to an interior drain. This is a big deal. The condensate pump on my last furnace runs to the exterior of my house (a typical configuration) but this means when we have a cold snap it freezes and shuts down the HVAC completely. Their crew had already anticipated this potential problem before I brought it up! They ran new ductwork where the previous occupant had made some odd changes that interfered with window clearances. Somehow - even given the non standard size of the ducting and odd placement - Daniel and his team fit both the ducting and insulation in a way where the window could be operable. They were respectful and left the job site clean. I am so thrilled to have a warm, cozy home in time for the holidays. Thank you to the whole crew at Greensavers. Appreciate you.

Just the customer service & responsiveness alone is a reason to book All West Coast! We booked the work, and were very pleased with the quality. Noe was super responsive to my emails & questions throughout the process, his crew was also very knowledgeable and helpful. Reuben was the crew lead and he was a pleasure to work with. His confidence of what needed to be done made me trust him over other estimators. All West Coast is also a trade ally of Energy Trust and Noe submitted my application for the insulation incentive which took an item off my to-do list. Reason I give All West Coast a 3/5 stars is because I think the communication after the quote could have been more direct. I had to ask multiple times to get an updated quote. The date/time for completing the project was not well communicated. I found out after texting Noe that he was planning to come over the next morning with his team to perform the job. Good thing my husband was home because I had to work that day. Parts of these interactions were just a bit frustrating. On the day of the project, his team arrived pretty promptly and completed the work within a couple hours. They were courteous and efficient and Noe walked through the project with my husband when they were done. We could definitely tell our upstairs was warmer as soon as the insulation was put in so we are happy with the results. I would recommend All West Coast to complete your insulation project. They offer competitive pricing and creative solutions.
