We had two each and left with no buzz whatsoever. Won't be ordering those again. Had the empanadas which were over fried. They were supposed to come with a guava sauce instead they came with a BBQ. Mentioned it to our waitress Ashley who took care of it and had one of the owners bring us over the right sauce but he said nothing to us... no apology, no nothing, not even a smile. Just put it on the table and went about his business. Also had the mini tacos (shrimp) which were pretty good. Not bad for $5. The calamari was okay. Not bad. Not great. I came here for HH with some friends and had a pleasant experience! The drink prices are pretty good. I tried the Sangria and Guava Mule. Both were delicious. For food, I tried the Empanadas which hit the spot. My friends said the mac and cheese was really good as well. Their guac and chips is super unique because they use plantain chips instead of regular tortilla chips. I personally loved the new twist. Simply put, this place was not good. There was a total of four tables occupied and I still had to flag down my waiter who stood at the bar, back turned in conversation the whole time. Periodically letting out a mucus cough with not mask. The food was all looks, NOTHING was good, it was shocking. Every dish basically went untouched besides the bites we took to taste it. It was such a waste of money ( $323 for 3 ppl / 18 gratuity automatically added) which is OUTRAGEOUS, given the quality and even the location. This was NOT a fancy restaurant. The shrimp tacos were drowned in sour cream and "fake" guacamole ( similar to the kind fast food places squeeze out a bag ) The mofongo cups were like sweet play-dough topped with cat food. The yuca fries were starchy, dry and desperately needed salt or ketchup. It was so hard to swallow ( worse than a Popeyes biscuit ) It coated your tongue and stuck there. The salmon dish was hard, overcooked, barely seasoned fish, on a bed of extremely salty spinach. The skirt steak was inedible. Damn near impossible to chew it was so tough. I gave up trying to chew after the second bite. My jaw is was not prepared! ( it was cooked medium ) The one star earned for this review is for the drinks,( tasted good and we got a little buzz ) but that was most likely because we were also smoking hookah. There's a random guy selling hookah 30$ cash and 20$ refill. You just have to find him and ask for it. You also don't get to choose a flavor, he simply brings you whatever. We stayed bc we'd made a reservation and had to put a credit card so I was afraid they'd charge me the fee...however the tapas were so good and the drink was also good. I would come back for tapas and just be prepared to yell across the table. We did have an entree the whole fried red snapper...it looked good especially in pictures however I wouldn't order again it had no flavor but the tostones was fried really well. I REALLY wanted to love this place! My friends and I visited on a Saturday night for a friends birthday. There was a line to get in and the place was PACKED! It didn't take us long to get in but I immediately recognized that the crowd was pretty rough. Many of the guys were pretty aggressive and were way bolder than they should have been. I'm glad I was with husband because I think I would have felt uncomfortable otherwise. (May have just been the particular crowd that night, not exactly sure since it was first time.) I did love the super cute decor of the place and although I didn't buy any drinks all the ones I saw being served were beautiful. My friends all said they were very tasty! The food though was SO good! I had the chimi. It tasted super fresh and had a nice kick to it. My mouth is watering now just thinking of it! If I visited again, I think I would prefer to go for a happy hour after work when there are less people and you could really sit down to enjoy a meal and a drink! read more

Long overdue l, this was the last establishment me and my friends were able to visit before Quarantine. Soo happy we decided to go what was supposed to be a calm happy hour on a Friday night ended up being us staying there the whole night until about 2am and watching the place literally transition. We met 3/4 owners which were soo welcoming and had good energy. We sat at the bar the whole time. Some had some food which wasn't nothing memorable, but the customer service, cocktails and ambiance made up for it. Once 9pm rolled around the place was getting pretty packed. They had a live tipico band in the back, hookah was flowing, lights got low and all was a night to remember. The bathroom is well maintained on the main level. The prices are all reasonable. We enjoyed how much of the Dominican culture is emphasized from the aesthetics to the drink/food options. Came here for Valentine's Day because I really liked the menu and I've been meaning to try it for a while now but they had a special Valentine's Day menu which was very limited compared to their usual menu. Because of this they did not have any of the things we were looking to try like the mofongos, salmon croquettes and plátano burgers. It was also very loud because there was a live band playing that night. However, I did enjoy the meals we ordered although they didn't get our order correct. I didn't bother mentioning it since it was a packed night for them. I'm kind of selective with my ceviche but theirs was good and I liked that the shrimp was cooked and not raw. They have an amazing happy hour deal that my friend and I came to take advantage of (food & drinks for less than $10 & a free hookah refill if you get both food and drinks)! I don't live in the Williamsburg area, but my salon is nearby and I recently stumbled upon this restaurant on the way to the G train ride home. The restaurant had their door and windows open and was playing good music, which caught my attention walking by. I love empanadas so I decided to try their trio platter - which was perfectly fried and the insides were so delicious. I also had their chicken pinchos which was surprisingly better than I expected. I was expecting small chunks of chicken on a stick, but instead they gave me large pieces of juicy white meat chicken seasoned really good and topped with some kind of yummy citrusy salsa and mashed potatoes. I tried the raspberry flavored Country club sodas, which confused me at first since it almost looked like the Brooklyn sodas, but had way better flavor. I had a ginger peach mule and my friend had the special rum cocktail-both were really good and hers had a little taste of fresh coconut in it-a nice touch! To eat, I had the steak w chimichurri and it was perfectly cooked and seasoned and a very generous serving-def enough for 2 meals. My friend had the shrimp mofongo (also big enough for leftovers) and she loved it! Lots of shrimp too! I liked the mixed roasted veggies on the side of my steak-they were in season, clearly fresh and cooked really well! Other cool stuff-they have lots of charging outlets at the bar for your phone, the music was great the whole time we were there, the windows in the front are big and open which is cool for people watching and the daily specials are a good deal-the day we went it was 2 good-sized chicken tacos and a margarita for $12. So I go to Carneval and try the "grilled chicken " with a chimichurri sauce .... I can't begin to tell you how bad it was. I forced my self eat the first piece of chicken but just couldn't get through the second piece and I NEVER waste food. I just couldn't stomach it any more.
